hi there. I thought about how it would be to add 4th rack of slots and call it "utility slots" It would be nice especially for larger ships, so they dont need to sacrifice their firepower to fit some useful modules like remote rep, neuts and so on. perphaps moving eccm to utility would be a good idea. it seems pretty dumb to me to not be able to make use of a "weapon hardpoint" cause i need that stupid neut
what do you guys think?

I say give all ships 24 slots and unlimited PG and CPU. It annoys me that I can't fit all the stuff I want to on my ship.... Really now... just play the game.

No. A ship is setup to do 1 task (damage, repair, ewar, recon, speed or tanking), perhaps 2, but that's it. Even if a ships does 2 things at once, it will do both at reduced effect. With your suggestion, you can have a huge tank and still jam. Not that I wouldn't mind having a gank and tank ship in one, but why then have any other ship? We would end up with everyone running around in the same ship, as it would do all the tasks best.

i didnt say more grid and stuff. just 1-3 extra slots, where you can only put in specialized modules. assuming you have enough grid/cpu. because neut/remote rep are pretty much mandatory nowadays, and many ships, expecially BS have to sacrifice gun hardpoints to do that

Yes, specialized ships are obviously and inarguably good.
While the idea of seriously re-thinking the whole slots/hardpoints/weapon sizes system has merit, the OP wants to be able to fly a do-everything-ship, and that's bad for the game.

they are not mandatory. they are simply desired so much that sacrificing a gun or two to use them is worth it. I honestly think it is working as intended or every ship would have this out of the box and stats reduced accordingly.
