After reading this thread for the past hour or so, I gave up. What do I think of this? To be honest, I think of it as reality. It isn't that I aprove of what has happened in all of the cases put forward by the victems. No in fact I think it is sickening. But it isn't something that makes me want to leave the game. It's what drives me. the anger the hatred for these players who cause more pain than they know. In their hearts they cannot deny that what they are doing is evil, but as with many, EVE is an outlet for these intentions. I myself suffer from a form of depression that does not allow me to voluntarily act on this evil that we all have. Thus I end up feeling that pain, and remembering my own. People like the black monkeys let me feed on that pain and turn it on them.
This reminds me of a lesson that I learnt some time back: For there to be good in the world evil must exist. To remove an evil only leaves a void that is filled by a larger evil. Take pirates for example. You may defeat one corp, but then another one, bigger and meaner will take its place. Even if wars become consensual, there will allways be griefers, and there pretty much isnt anything we can do about it, except recognise the need to deal with them. I saw a can in a system on my travels that proclaimed that the system that I was in was under protection from a corp I later found out was Reality Consultants Ltd. I salute this corp, for deciding to take a stand against ore theifs and grifers.
I am sorry for this long winded and pretty wierd post, but it's sorta the way I think. For those of you who want to know, I am not a said carebare and I believe in fighting agasinst these griefers, and yes no matter how you spin it, you are griefers, in one way or another, and you know it.

Quote: "Honestly, we're not nearly as good or scary as this thread makes us out to be. We don't deserve eight pages, and we don't have friends in alliances supporting us since basically we are too new and suck too much to waste money on. Today we celebrated because we killed a Stabber cruiser who knew what he was doing and put up a hard fight - we're still so minor that we take great pleasure in such tiny victories, while elsewhere hundreds of battleships are eradicated every day."
I don't like the idea of declaring war on newbie corps in empire space for the purpose of griefing. I'd recommed this victimized corp just all quit their corp and enter the newbie corp they started with. Leave an alt to man your corp hangar so you have access and these bullies can go away packing.
"Safe" empire space means safe. Its so people who aren't into the mindless PvP have somewhere to go and play EVE. Personally I think these Black Monkey people are griefers. Oh they're playing within game mechanics but honestly picking on newbie corps in empire space? Come on that isn't even half respectable.
How many people have quit this game since its inception over griefers like this? We'll never know but I'd imagine its more then a few. When it all comes down to it these people have a right to PvP (Black Monkey) but they also have a responsibility to PvP with others like themselves rather then pick on the little guy.
They're no better then the bully on the playground stealing lunch money. Like losers in real life who target the weak they're doing the same thing in game. They have no ethics as far as I'm concerned and OOG wise if they had any conscious you wouldn't see them knowningly make a newbie corp miserable like this.
This is just so wrong on so many levels. Why don't you guys go and pick on someone who wants to fight (there are plenty of corps that are PvP oriented out there) and leave the carebears alone? Or is that how you get your jollies picking on the weak then mocking them when they complain and quit? Gee you should be real proud of yourselves.

I just read the part about these losers destroying a corp of newbies last month (GoonCorp). I read about how most of those players ended up quitting the game entirely.
Then I read this "person" Istvaan Shogaatsu celebrating the fact he forced people from the game. He seems to have no problem with making other people unhappy. I imagine they were unhappy in real life because they quit.
What a loser. You must be such a loser in real life you have to come in here in a game and play bigshot and ruin everyone elses gameplay. Rather then be a man and fight people who can and want to fight you exploit the trust of brand new players in a game with a huge learning curve. I mean how low can you go? God I can't even begin to think of words to describe you. You remind me of the people they catch torturing little animals. How low?
This is so far beyond piracy or anything else. This is the definition of "griefer" if there ever was one.
I suppose its way above you to apologize to those people who ended up quitting the game because of you?
As for Viceroy I had alot of respect for you going way back to the Setec days of SI (yes Im a beta tester old player). Now to find out you took part and parcel of this torment the newbies scam just shocks me. You've always been someone who had my respect for your gameplay as a pirate. But this? This is so below belt. I can't believe you would pull something like this.
Unbelievable.

The feeling is mutual. Acts like that are as low as it gets. It is far beyond piracy, far beyond anything I have ever seen. It gives me more reason for what I do.

People will leave either way, no matter what CCP does. Well, Im sure that they will lose less money by adjusting the war system so that monkey wars like this can't happen. More people will rejoice than cry because of it, so net loss is the least by this. If the BMC gains succes and other people copy their succes, we're going to have an uneasy stage of game where the predators are outgrowing the prey, ending up with a ecological disaster.
I hope that shiva's alliance tweaks will make it easier to forge large alliances to fight this stuff, so that newbie corps have places to turn in times of trouble. Then both monkey gankers and newbs wil have something to be happy about.

gg Fattus, you rock.
We did take out his second Ambush buddy tho >:) MASULA side losses so far; 1 ibis, 1 stabber, 1 rupture (not from MASULA but from their allies) We've lost 3 incursuses so far, 2 of which were me o_0 Probably shouldn't have gone alone up against that MOA, gj Skyviper.
Interestingly enough the ibis kill provided us with by far the most entertainment due to the rather upset pilot's reaction and our later discovery of his main character's Eve fame and power. Hreh Hrehhh hrehhh!
To our fans; yeah we're evil, yeah Istvaan Shogaatsu is a very sick, depraved twisted nasty lil bugger. FUN FUN.

im only 5 days old in this game so im a noob and myabe my opinion aint worth anything but.. I think its all part of the game, I mean seriously, you get a letter "hey we declare war on you, cya tomorrow" that elimates the pressence of surprise, and you shoulda just prepaired for such a thing, I mean its common knowledge that corp.s like this exist, and it makes the game even more exciting and such. Just me 2 ISK's

This is sick Istvaan, even a predator knows when to stop hunting, hope we meet in 0.0.

You always have the right not to participate in PVP - hire mercenaries to defend you, or evade your pursuers. If you're looking for a life in Eve that is completely without peril, I'm sorry but keep dreaming: If corporations couldn't be beleaguered by marauding bands of pirates, they would have no motivation to do things like hire assistance from PVP corps. Ships wouldn't be lost and replaced, ammunition wouldn't be expended, assets would simply grow exponentially and everything would stagnate.
War is a necessity. If people know they are not 100% safe, even in empire space, they will gain the courage to migrate to 0-sec faster. If there is ever to exist a refuge where people cannot possibly be preyed upon, you can be certain that that's where a good half of Eve's population will grow fat and cower.
War economy is by far the only thing that has proven not to last in this world. The values spent on warfare can never outweigh the loss of materials. Most shortsighted idea ever invented.
Anyways. My compliments on a well staged public act. So long.

Quote: There's no need for backers, Aeon. Currently Black Monkey pilots operate on an average budget of roughly 800k isk per character, except for the guy in the 'ceptor. When my main joins the Monkeys in 16 days or so, that figure will shoot up a bit more, but the emphasis is on affordable warfare and sustaining ourselves with loot.
No, I'm still horribly broke at max 2 million isk. I live in abject fear of losing my interceptor since the insurance only covers 2 mil out of the market price of 5.5 mil.
Btw, I'm waiting in extreme anticipation for the missile nerf. Since we don't really use missile-capable ships, it'll just make combat more interesting for us.

Originally by: Cronar It seems that a couple days ago a group of grief players decided to target our corperation for a war. they fly frigates but are experienced players and go around start a war with a random corperation and demand items or face a bigg loss. well they demanded 200 million isk or 3 battleships from us but we dont have either. were a small corp that barely have any items to our name so we had no choice but to leave the corperation we worked hard to get where it is today. 2 of our members left the game for good 3 are seeking other corperations. We have laws to protect us in real life against these terrorists, (i call them terrorists because thats what they would be considered in real life) but it seems in the world of Eve we have no laws to fall back on. I just want to tell you about these kind of players and what we need in the game is a choice. both sides have to vote to go to war. i know thats not the way it works out but i dont like working to get somewhere in a game and have it all taken buy a bunch of griefers.
well bad luck, you should play online games if you cant deal with the other players in here Wanna fly with me?

Hehe thanks, can't really take credit for your Blackbird tho ^^ Kinda sucks you can't shoot evil corp members, like zombie or m0o or killer clowns.. You'd think even the high sec rating ones would be fair targets with their corporate history..

As far as I recall I got 3 of you in that particular skirmish. Your gangraping and station hugging tactics arent impressive. But u are fighting equally skilled ppl, so I suppose it is atm a fair fight, skill point wise.
However I think your whole strategy is self destructive as more ppl will dislike you enough to concentrate their effort on destroying your corp. It has already begun

You took out 2 of us :) Tetsuo and me trying our mwds for the first time, my plan wasn't good enough so you beat us :P
You were wise to hide when we came back with a better strategy >:)
All in all I'd say it's a fair fight, skill and skillpoint wise.. Right now I have something like 200k skillpoints, but a few of us have more :) like 1-3 million..

Since they want to ruin your fun, there's a pretty easy way you can ruin their fun:
1. Create an alt 2. Have him join your corp 3. Make him the CEO (he's just a placeholder to keep the corp alive) 4. Everybody bails out of the corp. Once you're back in the noob corp you're untouchable in empire space and your foe has wasted one of their 3 wars on a corp with nobody to shoot at. 5. Listen to all the whining about how YOU'RE ruining the game. 6. If you can afford it, start another corp and let them waste another war declaration. 7. Soon they get tired of hanging around with nobody to shoot at and cancel the war so they can go grief someone else. 8. Everybody rejoins the corp and gets back to business.
It's sort of a cowardly solution and a bit of a dirty trick, but what the h***, they started it. :) It's also VERY effective.
