* Several improvements have been made to logging, both server and client side in order to provide a safer playing experience and a better development environment. 3rd party tools that utilize the client logs will no longer provide useful out-of-game intel. This change will not affect 3rd party programs who use the EVE API (EVEMon, EFT etc)
Can someone get pretty specific here as to what the changes were?

We intentionally formulated the patch note like this. It is probably easier for us to answer your questions. So what is it that you want to know any why?

What out-of-game intelligence is no longer available?
Are people entering local in the logs?

We made some changes to what it records since people tend to misuse this debugging tool to get an advantage over others in the game. What exactly we changed I don't know.

Hi,
is there still a way to get information on the player security status from the logserver?
point is ingame info only shows like 3 decimals or so but we need more! this info can't be considered harmful i assume so any chance of retrieving this info?
some people really desperately try to reach true -10.0 (of which it was said in one of the econ blogs that there are only 32 players who have reached it) and now every measure of progess after -9.999 (which you can reach in days easily) is gone. the display ingame is either rounded to -10.0 (normal show info) or truncated after a few decimals (if you are director and can use ->edit member).

Hi,
Why don't you look for yourself and find out?
AFAIK the only thing that was changed was that "OnLSC" got kind of deverbosified. Security status should be elsewhere and should not have changed.
If you have tested this and it is gone, I'm sorry, but please be more clear. In the worst case this information can be accessed via the cache.

Well i did and for me it didn't work. Well i am a noob with such things but pre patch i could just start the log server, open a workspace, log in to game (character screen was enough) and then search the data output for "security". Then it would show my sec status up to like 17digits or smthg. Now there is just gibberish and nothing to find. Data is encrypted or whatever.

How can i get this from cache?
And excuse my noobness but what is OnLSC? I used logserver to check security status exclusively. Oh once i filed a bugreport too but i don't really know much about the internal workings of these things.

Why would you need to know your security status to such a level of accuracy?

Well, as mentioned there are currently only about 30 players who reached true -10(->one of the econ blogs). So for some people its a goal to be one of them.
We've monitored our security status for a long time waiting for "it" to happen. The less digits needed the slower the progress. Some players seem to be "stuck" with the last 2 digits which just won't move after endless hours of slaughter and podding. Those players often suggest that true -10. is broken. Said econ blog however suggests that it is indeed possible to reach it though it may be difficult and involve months or even years of work and dedication.
Basically as we cannot monitor the progress we make there is no guarantee that we make any progress at all. I know this is kind of a low priority issue but i'd thought maybe there is still an easy way to check. I can imagine you guys don't have the time to screw with the logserver just for giggles.

Hmm. I don't know what happened before but I just tried the logserver and I was able to find my security status fairly easily. First, I searched for "security" as you said, then I go a few lines down to a line that starts with character::GetCharacterToSelect. In that line, immediately after my corp ticker, was my security status to 18 digits.

I find this ironic, seeing as your methods to produce security status statistics are computed to such a degree.

O dude you're my hero. I can't tell you what exactly the difference is between now and prepatch but the format seems different. Before i would just see my sec status right after doing the search. Now it displays smthg like x11\x08\ and ever so on. I assumed (stupidly :) that this would be because of the changes to the logserver.
Sorry for wasting anyones time but i know a few guys who'll be happy again!
