well that was fun, kind of. im getting tired and the stats start to suck 
guess its time for a break.
but yeah, at least now i know its a good thing i didnt buy orange box;
i cant imagine tf2 being fun for much longer than 2 days.
hl2 isnt my thing either...
but the portal demo got me hooked, i have to get that, finally.

i dont get the cod4 hype, either.
its a nice and decent game, but nothing more. sure, it looks good, and (whats important imho) it scales reasonably well to older hardware, and thanks to the small maps even i can run it on full settings.
but in the end its just quake with soldiers and "real" guns.
or the singleplayer campaign... yes, it was a nice story, and it was fun to play it. but the respawn mechanics were so 1995 and there is no excuse whatsoever to still have them like this. the more you make your virtual world look real, the more you have to watch out that every single detail HELPS immersion, not the other way round.
Im happy like a fairy on pixie dust that i didnt buy cod4.
IF i was a fan of faced paced twitch gaming, id choose TF2 over CS (just for the record, ive been playing CS since the first beta, for about 2 or 3 years) or cod4 anyday.
but to be honest... if it comes down to fast paced twitch gaming, GunZ beats them all. That is a game where fast reflexes REALLY make a difference, at least when you got a bit of "k-style" down. sure it looks like pixelated turdwich, but gameplay > graphics.
If i wanted to play some "realistic" shooter, id probably load up GRAW2. Ive been playing quite some paintball, and i like to think im not too bad at it (I played national league in my backwater country over here) and boy, GRAW2 feels right. the leaning, the skidding, the diving. it just feels right. no clue about the guns tho, i never fired one, but i like them graw-guns.

I never get bored of TF2, I just love the game play and all the attention to detail. The odd bug does **** me off a bit but as a time filler I find nothing can beat it, it's great for just jumping in, having a few rounds then going again.
With GunZ unless it's changed alot since I played it then it wasn't a fast paced game at all, it was the most laggy, bugged out game I'd ever played where basically all the players cheated in one way or another.

GunZ is lame.
The game is dominated by your k-styling sword wielding *****s who whine to no end when they do get killed by "sprayers."

well, im a sprayer 
but i can use the sword to move about matrix style.
and that actually takes some skill, to pull all the cancelling moves in time, and correct rhythym.
also, and thats why i LOVE that game... you have SINGLE button to turn off the chat and all the whining \o/
but something else, about tf2:
any tips for the spy? i never seem to be able to make any use of his skills  when youre disguised, how do other players spot you?

doesnt work on my new PC  worked fine on my old one... new one I get that looping audio bug/freeze whenever I spawn or change weapons! other HL games are fine though. rubbish! I have to open task manager, and switch out & back to the game to unfreeze it  totally unplayable.

'cos you're running straight at them probably, you need to run around pretending to be on their team for a bit to be really mean medics are always very suspicious.

There's also the FF=off thing too. I advise just staying well away from pyros, but be subtle about it. Any odd behaviour and they'll chase you down just to find out. I normally play as pyro and I flame pretty much everyone around, just because it'd be daft not to. Well anyone that's not shooting anyway, and spies always have the first weapon out too so you can ignore those that change weapons.
That reminds me: does anyone know if spies can show as holding the new weapons? Anything that can help with spotting the buggers (or in this case people that definitely aren't) has to be a good thing imo...

I noticed that too, like if I see a big group of players I'll turn around and run with them toward my own base but I always get shot at :(
Altough I did get that achievement where you get a enemy medic to heal you, then I stabbed him!

Sorry to be down on TF2, I downloaded it.... and I really don't like it. I prefer CoD4.
However, I do appreciate them giving us 2 days free to sample it.

I read some spy guides, and despite your nice advice (dont act so ****ign suspicious) i think i now found out what REALLY gave away my disguise:
1) stand still upon "spychecking". theyre not gonna use all their ammo on you, and they DONT see you getting hurt (unless they check you with a flamer ) but if you start running around like a chicken with some jalapenos up its arse, once the enemy puts a single bullet into you to check your reaction, well, you might as well wear a suit with a big fat "totally not a spy, honestly" caption.
2)be careful when cloaked. dont collide with enemies. at first i thought cloaked spies always give this predator blur. obviously that only happens when you get hit or collided with.
The other stuff, like running backwards into their base and so on, well, i tried that. but tbh i think, during the more or less official "pyro weekend" i dont think spies are that rewarding to play...
ill try again with my "new found knowledge" later. because, frankly, thats probably the closest i can get to being james bond. so fat chance ill let that slip
