So, I am sure others have experienced the frustration of not being able to create groups of mixed drones, I would love to create a group of 4 ogre II's and a Berserker 900 SW drone.... If the functionality of creating mixed groups of drones is something CCP is adamant about keeping separate, how about a new skill? "Drone Command" each level of drone command allows you to have more than one drone type in a group, i.e Drone Command(DC) I means you can have 4 of one kind, one of another, DC II would allow 3 of one kind, and one each of two other kinds, etc....
It would eliminate some of the needs for drone micromanagement, and would also give multiple types of drones to hold a focus fire, too many times, my webber drone runs off and locks a different target than my combat drones. It would truly give the "focus fire" command true utility.
just my two 0.01 ISK's worth :)

Just curious, but have you assigned them to mixed groups? Like clicking each drone and "Move Drone... New Group" and then issuing commands to the group instead?
What I'd like to see, is some cooperation between drones as well. Like assigning a Repper to a group of Scouts, and having the repper keep them alive rather than try and fix the same target their shooting at.
I don't think this would need a new skill at all, just a correction to the way drones AI handle things.

Which is entirely functional for a mixed group of Combat drones. But it's annoying when 4 try to kill a target, and 1 is trying to fix it up.

It doesn't even need to be terribly "sophisticated", they just need to know their jobs.
Combat drones are supposed to shoot things. EW are supposed to go... EW... things.
And reppers are supposed to mend stuff.
I'd posted something like this weeks ago, asking why drones can't be smart and "aggressive" like Combat already are. If someone shoots at you, they automatically attack that target. So if you deploy a pack of reppers, and a fleetmate takes damage, they could automatically repair them. Or if you pair a repper with a group of combats, and one of them takes damage, it'll start fixing while they keep fighting.

I rarely if ever use the drone attack shortcut, I use my guns and EWAR to direct my drones, works great for combat drones, but the damned webber drone runs around like a blind ***** in a wiener factory pulling everything under the sun.
