I was researching the Backstory of eve when i came accross this:
http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2//pdf/eve_v1.4_white.pdf
It is a collection of all the various informations that CCP has releaced over the years... one thing in particular jumped out at me...
If you go to the above link (whitch i assure you is not a rick roll XD) and scroll to page 110, you will find an article named The Armageddon Project. The text of which will be copied now: __________________________________________________________________ Even if peace has reigned in the world of EVE for a number of years this does not mean that the empires are sitting at ease when it comes to military technology. Each one of them is spending huge sums of money on R&D every year, as well as supporting independent research facilities and scientists. All of them have the same dream of discovering the ultimate weapon, something that just the threat of using would make the rest of the empires fall in line. Such weapons have been discovered before and each time their existence gave a new dimension of the game of power politics, but counter-measures have always been discovered sooner or late, returning equilibrium once again. Many have commented on how relieving it is that none of the empires has developed anything resembling a super-weapon that would surely upset the fragile peace existing between the empires. Even the Jovians with all their technological advances have never produced anything of the sort. But recent rumors might suggest otherwise. These rumors tell of a revolutionary new weapon developed in secret by the Jovians, a weapon capable of even destroying a whole planet. The Jovians are as elusive and tightlipped as always and have neither denied nor confirmed the rumors. Surveillance and covert operations made by other empires have not met with much success as the Jovians are masters of concealment. But the fragments of data that has been gathered have poured fuel on the fire of speculations and many fear that the Jovians are either waiting for the right opportunity for displaying the power of their new gadget, or they are secretly negotiating to sell it to the highest bidder.
_______________________________________________________________
Now, i havn't yet finished going through it all, but i believe this could be a major hint. I recomend that everyone read the information that is within the file I have posted the link to, it could have more information on things to come...
Discuss.

Edited by: Nullity on 21/06/2008 02:58:33 It's The Armageddon Project, a chronicle that came out in October 2002. I guess, that chronicle is finally going to be relevant after nearly six years.

Edited by: Blane Xero on 21/06/2008 03:01:08 My theory?
Jamyl goes in hiding after killing her clone in the "Ritual" and plans to stay hiding, and doing so works on something that will "Keep people quiet" about her location. She see's her homeworld(s) under attack and true Sarum-Natur kicks in, makes a run for the enemy and unleashes it.
Its probably some kind of Doomsday orientated weapon (as someone in another thread said, we used to remote doomsday) is it not possable she blew up the doomsday from inside the ragnarok?
Another theory is that its a mass electronic distortion field that in short, makes all the ships warp drive sgo critical and go boom from the inside (My personal theory)

The "weapon" in question is not a weapon, in fact it is a rust removal.

personal theory:
the weapon uses up all the cap of the ship into the first ship it hits, turning it into raw damage in one huge volley, because the first ship hit, the titan, has WTFPWN cap, its enough to one shot it. the leftover energy then chain jumps to any nearby ships repeating the process.
the lesson: don't cluster your capital ships. __________________________________________________ |

Anyone who's read Ender's Game will know its just a little doctor or "MD" weapon that they used at the end to mop-up the insect race. GG CCP on your orignality. :P

Most probable explanation is that the weapon is Jovian tech that Sarum picked up while doing whatever it is Zombies do. She probably aquired it so that she could use it to prove her worth as the next Emperor.
It worked.
And the sky is filled with light, can you see it? |

It's no special superweapon. It's simply a giant ball of water contained within a magnetic field.
As the water hits the Minmatar ships, the glue under the tape that keeps their ships together starts to dissolve. Thus everything falls apart and a new emporer is found

The first thing I thought of when I saw the trailer was the descriptions from the Amarr vs. Jove battle at VakÆAtioth.
With the emergence of the Elders and then Sarum, I get the distinct feeling that the four empires are waging a war on behalf of others like the struggle in the series Babylon 5 (Jove and an as yet unknown ancient race).
Sarum probably formed an alliance of sorts with Jove in order to defeat the Elders being supported by the forces of darkness.
The Science Fiction genre is notorious for recycling ideas after all :D

THose that say "discuss" should give a damn enough to start the discussion. otherwise....people just give a crap. what you posted said nothing really since every nation has always tried to build what is considered a superweapon for its time.
