Known Issues:
Windows and Mac:
* Missing translations default back to English giving a mixed language user interface * Some localized strings stretch their containers (most notable on logographic languages such as Japanese and Chinese) * Starbase batteries have a graphical error which will make it appear that batteries are still shooting even when they are not.
Windows:
GÇó Clear Settings/Clear Cache doesn't respect the /server: argument. This will only affect you when running on test servers. GÇó The Launcher updater is not translated from English. GÇó Links in the Launcher might not work with earlier versions of Internet Explorer set as the default and/or only browser. GÇó When you uninstall EVE Online, the folder containing the launcher is not deleted. GÇó When you uninstall EVE Online, the shortcut to the EVE Online Launcher is not removed from the Start Menu GÇó Launcher doesnGÇÖt always come to the front of the screen. GÇó If another process is running from the same directory as the EVE Launcher, non-English localizations of the EVE Launcher will inform the user that another "EVE Online Process" is running. This is still a valid error, but may relate to any such process (eg LogServer.exe, repair.exe, etc). GÇó Launching multiple clients from the same install in rapid succession with the option "only display the launcher window when there is an update" informs you that more than one instance of the Launcher cannot be run. The workaround for this is to wait several seconds between each attempt to open the client. Alternatively, one could simply leave the launcher open, and click "Play" several times in order to start multiple clients.
Mac:
GÇó The "EVE Client Settings" tab in the Settings menu mentions the Repair Tool, but this isn't a relevant option on the Mac. GÇó Command-line arguments are not forwarded to the eve client when play is pressed. CCP Navigator -Community Manager |

I can safely say that it's always been like this, you can get mixed spawns with lots of different types/classes of NPC's though they're the same faction. |

Yes, we are aware of this. This will be fixed.

You can copy the patch file between game install folders, or use the patch import/export functionality. Then you won't have to do multiple downloads. |

It could happen that a new settings folder was created under %localappdata%\CCP\EVE
You could try to go in there and copy your old settings into the new folder which should fix this problem.

Client launched as normal the login screen. However, the client thinks its still running the previous version. Ok, maybe I missed something, launched the old patcher again, which relaunched the launcher, which in turn does nothing. It still says the client is up to date. Tried launching again. I'm stuck in one giant loop of redownloading the launcher and the launcher claiming my client is up to date. Other than being stuck in a loop up redowloading the launcher patch, everything is running normally. No crashes, no dumps, etc.
I tried running the repair tool, but the same thing keeps happening.
I'm on a very low bandwidth connection so I can't redownload the client installer and start fresh. OS is Windows 7 x64. Does this also happen if you go into your EVE directory and just start eve.exe directly? If so, then your shortcut file might be messed up and I'd suggest deleting it and recreating it.

Are you running the Launcher from a path which contains a hyphen? If so, the work-around is to either remove the hyphen, or remove the .patch file in the directory (assuming you've successfully patched to the latest TQ version). This has been fixed in 1.06, which is currently live on SISI. Hope that helps . |

Edit: This still didn't fix the clickable links. They open for me in a blank IE window with no page content, empty address bar and no visible loading progress or anything (the window is just stuck but I'm able to close it).
Unfortunately the IE problem you mention is a known issue, see https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=80365&find=unread. We'll try to get to this once we've sorted out the update problems that people are having. |

Patching works fine for both clients; but it is not possible to configure the launcher on my second (just copy and paste) EVE. I want, that the launcher closes itself after starting EVE. With the regular installation it works fine but when I click at the "Setup" button of the launcher, nothing happens. Strange. - Browsing my saved personal fittings is only possible if I click twice the button. But all fittings are gone / deleted. - Why the hell did you rename my shield hardeners? Who is that id!ot who wants to rename all my stuff?
Do you have a hyphen in the pathname of your second copy? If the path name contains a hyphen and the directory contains a .patch file, the Settings Menu will not open. The work-around is to change one or the other (ie remove the patch or remove the hyphen). This has been fixed in version 1.06 of the Launcher. |

Some clients seem to be getting permission errors when the Launcher is trying to update a file that the client uses. This has to do with the privileges on the Launcher. We are working on an update for the Launcher that we will deliver as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we suggest you try running the "Eve Online Launcher" shortcut as administrator (through right-click). If that doesn't work, try to use repair.exe to update your client. |

Done this 5 times now.
Where can I manually download the .patch file from and import it? Would be the easiest option but on the website there is no longer a download option for patches page, says I HAVE TO use the launcher.
The .patch file is essentially a delta of your local client and a "master" on our servers. As such it's essentially install-specific. If you're having trouble with the Launcher, we'd recommend that you run it as administrator, or try using the Repair Tool. Hope that helps. |

You can run the Launcher shortcut with /forceupdate flag. That said, there are some permissions issues in the wild with 1.05, so this may not fix things. The definitive fallback should be the Repair Tool. |

Thanks for the info regarding the Vista install process. The Launcher menu bug you mention is likely due to a hyphen in the path of your client directory. Removing the hyphen or removing the .patch file in the folder should fix this issue (it's fixed in 1.06, which is currently on SISI). |

Dito here. i'm downloading right now and it is taking ages. Or is the patch huge? I can't tell because it is not showing how much Mb's it is downloading on the launcher. No error messages yet though, at least thats something :>
This is likely due to the fact that we checksum your client directory in order to know what data to offer you in a patch. This information is cached after the first run, so subsequent patches should be faster. |

you have successfully created patchception. So yea thanks for fixing that what is not broken -.-
And this was only on my laptop.........
I come home to do the same lame lolupdate thinking well its not the worst that could happen just another thing in life that was good and now made bad but still tolerable. But alas i found that my desktop would not be so lucky...
Downloaded launcher patch, worked fine.. launcher launched and started DL its big patch. then i got the exception error same as the others and no more install for me.. decided to uninstall and start fresh, DL the installer and NOPE corrupt installer.... Clicked the download manually link.. WTF is this have to DL 3 separate files and run from there? still working on this....
I work with software development and testing and just have to wonder if you even tested this on any kind of various platforms or just on whoever happened to have a computer there that day. so yea.. hate the launcher, was not needed at all, other system was working fine and i didnt need all this buddy program promotes and BUY PLEX NOW stuff. i know its there i knew its there and its not like its something you need reminded of -.-
Also why the new names for things? what was it doing before that caused a undesirable effect?
Why is my overview no longer working properly and sticking?
Why when i alt tab from one client to the next the next things i click on are looked at until i press tab again?
NOW FOR THE THINGS THAT WENT OK
the launcher can be avoided if there are no patches (once i can get it to run.) Noob ships look cool (why wasent this time spent on my overview?)
Overall conclusions? I Am Dissapoint ;(
Sorry for the inconvenience, we're working to fix this now. |

We're aware of the transient permissions errors that users are receiving while attempting to patch. This is something that we're actively looking into, and will deploy a fix as soon as one is available. Thanks for your patience. I am also Win7 x64 user and also still waiting on a working patch (after failed attempts to patch manually or through the launcher, with Run as Administrator option off and on) . The link you provided for the fixed 1.06 launcher ( http://cdn1.eveonline.com/349998/evepremiumpatch349998.exe) does not seem to be working either, or is currently overflowed. I understand it takes some time for you guys to fix the issues for the win7 x64 users, but i also hope you can make it up to us for our lost game time.
Do you mind passing me a copy of your /EVE/launcher/cache/launcher.log via http://pastebin.com/ or somesuch? Thanks! |

Just to update everyone on the situation:
We're aware of the permissions issues plaguing some of our users. We're actively working on a fix for this.
In the mean-time, please do the following: 1. Restart your computer 2. Run the Repair Tool without starting any other EVE-related process (ie Client, Launcher, etc) beforehand. 3. Navigate to EVE/bin/ and run ExeFile.exe directly. 4. Please reply to this thread confirming this work around, if it is, in fact, successful.
A few caveats about this approach. If you encounter permission errors on files during the Repair process, they may not have been completely updated to their latest versions. Therefore, you may not be running a completely sane client, but you might be able to get in-game.
Thank you for bearing with us while we sort these issues out. |

Hi,
Have you tried going into the EVE folder and running the eve.exe or the ExeFile.exe without starting them from a shortcut? Do you still get into a patching loop?

The issue you are experiencing has nothing to do with 64 bit support. There are currently 37 000 players online TQ, a lot of them are running on a 64 bit OS.
What you are experiencing is something else. Have you tried rebooting your computer and then without starting any eve client or anything else, run the repair tool.
The reason why you will have to reboot is to make sure that there are no locked files from other programs.
Please let me know how that works for you.

By fix I mean a file which we can download, double click and wow look EVE works, not a "if you bury a frog in the garden and sing Maria in the bathroom mirror 3 times then try repair.exe" kind of fix please.
Hi Lovelocke,
I have looked through your replies and it seems that you had issues pasting the logs for the issue because of the HTML in it. This makes it difficult for us to help you with the issue you're having.
We are releasing a new repair tool and a new launcher which should resolve all issues that we have managed to get information on and fix to date. If you continue having issues after this has been released we will have to take a look at the log which is generated. You can for example file a bug report, zip up the log file and attach it to the bug report and then tell me the bug report ID and I will gladly have a look at it tonight.
I very much apologize for the inconvience and I hope you see that we are trying to do everything we can to get those who are having issues back up and running again. The workarounds posted previously in this thread has helped quite a few people, because the issue they have is that there is a process in the background which is preventing the launcher from updating itself and the client. This implies that there is a process running in the background which is holding on to the file which the repair tool is trying to update for you.
To work around this problem, have you tried restarting the computer (this will make sure no other processes are hanging on to the .stuff files) and without starting any eve clients or launchers in between star the repair.exe from the eve folder. See the post below for step by step instructions.
Please let us know if that works or not. Associate Technical Producer - Core Technology Group |

As of 23:57 GMT we released a new Launcher and a new repair tool to resolve some issues that players have been experiencing during the initial deployment of Crucible 1.5.
Those of you experiencing issues with the Launcher or updating the game, please follow these steps:
1.Reboot the computer. 2.Navigate to the EVE client install folder. 3.Run the Repair tool until it finshes. 4.Run eve.exe from the same folder
We ask people to reboot their computer to make sure that there are no locked files or other processes running while running the repair tool. This would otherwise interfere with the repair tool and prevent the client from updating.

Running under XP, latest SP, have Eve on external HD H:, can't seem to find where the relevant folders to fix this would be as my setting seem to be borked atm. This is almost certainly due to the Launcher update corrupting the Launcher itself, which is symptomatic of the data corruption you're seeing. This, along with the permission issues that people have been having, is at the top of our list to fix ASAP.

You have to download the Executable, Payload 1, and Payload 2 and put them all in the same folder, then run the executable. Correct, the .7z payloads just need to be in the same location as the .exe. |

The problem is not with the UDP stream itself, it's with anything that does protocol filtering such as your router in the case it's doing SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) filtering or many firewalls which do protocol filtering.
This just isn't true. We're using HTTP range requests and rsync over HTTP.
Alunis wrote: Cure: You must disable in your router the SPI Filtering if it's enabled. If you use ESET / NOD32 you must go into the advanced options and add exceptions for Launcher.exe, repair.exe, and the eve.eve file as well.
This however is true and we urge those who are running into problems with ESET NOD32 to contact customer support and ask them to release an update to the software.
Alunis wrote: CCP is telling people to reboot and jump through hoops and all sorts of silly things. This isn't an issue you can resolve by rebooting it if you're geting those errrors. So try using the suggestions.
This workaround which was posted early morning on the 14th was to resolve various other issues people were experiencing and many have reported that this worked for them. Data corruption which is what a lot of people are reporting now can be the result of firewalls and non functioning routers and other causes which we are still investigating. We're very much trying to help people getting this issue and getting to the bottom of the problems they are experiencing.

The problem once again lies in win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt. When it calls ClientUpdate: BuildNumberInfoFile: The value it is receieving back is the value for the old patch, where as its supposed to be the new patch. If you change the URL it calls with the same file, only with the right information on a seperate server and still have the .patch file for 350962 to 351477, you can fool your launcher into needing an update. The update process will fail, but the 'import' tool will work and you can import the .patch file to get your client up and running.
Well, I couldnt locate the win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt file, but I did import the 350962 to 351477 patch file again, which forced the Launcher to reverse the reversion (lol) back to 351477. But then it also updated itself to v1.11. The client launched successfully after both actions, so not sure which was the one that solved it. In any case, thanks for the tip. Just keeping my fingers crossed that there's no Day 5 of my problems
We've include a fix in version 1.11 of the Launcher which should force to request non-cached versions of the info files in question. Please let us know if you encounter this issue again. Thanks! |

Hi Toobaa, This sounds like there is an obstruction (firewall/proxy) between you and the content-server causing the request to time out. Can you verify that the connection is not being blocked by any software in your computer ?

Hi Captain Derek, Could you paste your launcher.log into pastebin and post the link to it here (or PM if you prefer).
Sorry for the inconvenience, CCP Nestor. |

Kaivaja wrote:One or two patches already worked with EveMon running in the background from C:\Games\EveMon while patching C:\Games\Eve, but now the old problem has reappeared: patch refuses to continue unless I shutdown EveMon. Apart from this, the whole patching process works perfectly here (Win 7 64 bit).
This issue seems to be only in v1.12 of the Launcher and this should be fixed in the next version. Thank you for pointing this out to us.
