Fix your s**t, the constant disconnects are making the game unplayable. I can't pvp, can't run missions, I can't even browse contracts due to being disconnected every 5-10 minutes. No its not my connection, I just played COD4 for an hour and a half without any problems. I'm paying for a game that I can't play and haven't been able to for a couple of days now.

A quick google search found this video, explaining how to conduct a TraceRT to find the exact source of your connection problems. I'm not very computer savvy, so it seemed intimidating but once I watched it a couple of times, it turned out to not be very hard at all. Turns out, my connection problem starts with my own ISP and isn't CCP's fault at all.

Luckily, I haven't disconnected yet. But it sure is annoying when I am running a friends Level 4 mission with them, and they up and leave out of nowhere and if I am not paying attention I start getting shot at.
I'm sure they won't let this go unanswered and find a way to loosen things up so it runs better. --- I haven't thought of a signature yet. |

just to REALLY annoy folks then.... this isnt the first time CCP has had issues with limelight. The last time it happened, folks couldnt log in for nearly 5 weeks as Limelight refused to acknowledge an issue. (i still have the email stored in hotmail from the exec of limelight after the playerbase had to sort it out ourselves)

If this happens, then I will consider CCP to be incompetent. It is their responsibility to make sure their ISP is holding up it's end of the bargain, or to get a new one. CCP's paying customers should not suffer because their bandwith provider is ignorant.
I'm not in any way saying that CCP is at fault if the 'net goes poof. But, they do have control over who they pay to provide connections to their server!

I'd ask for your stuff, but apparently it isn't very good. So can I have all the ISK you make from those battleship spawns instead?
btw, CCP won't give you your money back cos you can still connect to the server, even if it is only for a couple mins at a time...at least you can change skills... --- Sig Starts Here --- Lord Haur - Imperial Academy Logistical Support

look at how stupid you are
p.s. just because you can play something routed entirely differently fine, doesn't mean it's CCP's fault. there are many ISP's involved between you and CCP, not just you, (then obviously AOL, I'd imagine that's what someone like you would use), then CCP.

p.s. Cod4 was one of many examples that show that I can connect to the Internet through my isp just fine and dandy. The problem is with connecting to CCP to play a game that I pay for monthly.. are you following so far? I pay for the "service" just like I do for example my gym membership. If the gym is not able to be used for more than a day I get REIMBURSED. The connection issues started immediately after the last little patch, coincidence, probably not. Now go eat your Twinkie.

Quick question: how many of those other games you're connecting to are running on servers on the other side of the ocean?
If you can give me a really good scornful retort there I'll tell you why that matters in this case. ___________________________________________

If the Gym was open for most people and fully operational, but you couldn't get to the gym cos the train you usually get wasn't running, i am fairly certain you wouldn't get reimbursed tbh.

You pay for a service from CCP.
You don't pay for CCP to make sure an entirely different company is providing a completely different service.
May I also point out that CoD4 servers have to deal with one, two at the most, ISP's assuming you are in your own country's servers, whereas you have to go through around 5 different ISP's to connect to Tranquility, assuming you are anywhere that isn't the UK.
Ultimately I guess the question is, would you like some bread with your whine? -------------- Lord WarATron:

In fairness, unless the COD4 server is hosted in the building, same connection as the TQ cluster then its a completely redundant comparison.

Dear failure, please open a book about the internet or at the very least read the various topics devs have responded in. The internet isn't a LAN connection between you and CCP, you are connected through lord knows how many different servers and ISPs across the globe. So unless you're a user with a very long cable attached between your computer and CCP's servercluster, I'm fairly sure it's something inbetween you and CCP that causes the problem (like every other thread shows).

I DEMAND CCP run a fiber optic connection into my house so I can connect to Eve without bothering with that whole internet thing.
Or else I'll quit.

The gym would not reimburse you however if the road was cut off or congested between you and the facilities. If the road got congested just after they added in that new "gruntmeister 3000" to the gym, guess what, ITS STILL NOT THEIR FAULT that 'you' cant use the equipment.
Suck it up, and in the mean time go back to the gym and work off some of that attitude.

you know what ? most internet drops with EVE turn out to be other problems and not the fault of CCP usually the culprits are your ISPs who tweak/change something that doesn't suit our game

I'm kind of curious about how this works. How many ISPs are there in a given market able to deliver the kind of bandwidth and stability necessary to run Eve? If they are going with the best in their market, what are their options? I know that the service contracts I have seen written up around here pretty much don't make allowances for connection troubles, even for mission-critical systems-- they are take-it-or-leave-it packages with no room for negotiation.
