Hello there! I tried killing a Guristas Dire Pithi demolisher with my maller, but the silly thing is impossible to kill for me, wich is kinda silly to my opinion. Isnt that ship's defence overpowered? I'm at ideal range, shooting it with 4x multifreq fucussed medium pulse lasers, got it webbed, and still do like 9 damage each shot maximum. The Pithi repairs its shield much faster than i can do damage, and it also seems to have infinite energy to do that.
Any idea's on this?

Some NPCs have high resistances, and your type of damage is not ideal dor gurista. And your skills are probably to low. Learn higher levels of medium energy turrets, cruiser skill will also help, or fit damage mods(heat sinks. If that fails, call a friend for help.

Basically u try to kill a) T2 gurista in b)tank cruiser (read low damage) with c) near worst damage type possible. Good luck on that ---- Drones eat everything. Trust me. |

Try getting 5 guns and add 1-2 heat sink modules. If that doesnt help you prolly wont kill him with actual skills. Unfortunately dire guristas (and arch angels) are HARDEST enemies for amarr ships to kill.

Do not try and find the signature... that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth... There is no signature. |

If you're planning on a serious mission running career just cross-train Caldari right now. There's no better combo than being able to fly either a Paladin or a CNR as required for clearing missions.
Other than that, yeah, drones. And missiles. Or train projectiles, they work great on some Amarr ships and let you vary your damage type a bit.

amarr mission running is pretty easy as long as you dont plan on engaging guristas/angels constantly. If you stay in amarr space only crap mission is "The assault" vs guristas - its so annoying that quite a lot of people just refuse it.

Edited by: Jurgen Cartis on 23/06/2008 01:54:29 Drones will help, but the Maller doesn't have a drone bay. Grab one of those sexy arbitrators and send 5 Vespas at the little bugger. He won't last long.
If you insist on doing it in the Maller, I suggest Heat Sinks. Preferably 2-3 of them, and Heavy Pulse. Alternatively, you can fit some blasters with MFS and introduce him to the wonders of Antimatter. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. This is, well, just wrong, if you use security agents, when you get to Lv4 agents, some of the guristas missions are just ********, if I were you I would look at crosstraining caladari, chosing damage types ECT. ------------------------------------------- Those that dont think minmatar ships are flashy never looked down my cannon barrels shortly after me pushing this very big red button in my display.

I refuse "The assault" even when im using my alt with golem ;p Last time i went to that mission i was jammed by 2 ships for straight 45 minutes. Not fun.

Sounds rediculous that we should cross train at all because we (as a faction) cant kill certain enemies. I suppose that the developers should OR nerf that npc OR delete the guristas missions from the lvl 2 assignments.

You have a perfectly good mission cruiser, if you refuse to use it that's your problem. The Arbitrator will beat any L2, and ignoring drone skills isn't really an option as you move to larger ships. Plus, drones are pretty decent even with crap skills, compared to guns with the same skillpoints.
That little Dire Pithi is a problem for everyone, not just Amarr. I distinctly remember the first time I tried killing it in my Merlin, took 3 or 4 warpouts before I managed to get enough of the damage to 'stick'. I also had pathetic damage skills.
The OP is using low-tier guns, I'm not sure how many heat sinks, and he doesn't even have a full rack of those low-tier guns fitted, on a tanky cruiser. Hardly an example I'd use to state categorically that you 'can't kill certain enemies'. That's like me fitting an Moa with 3 Electron Blasters and no MFS and then complaining it does crappy damage.
A full rack of Heavy Pulse and some Heat Sinks will slag that frig. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

Yes, using a titan for killing that could be an option too. The funny thing is though, that its only a lvl 2 mission wich should be that hard.

Neuts... If you can get into range, start shooting a neutralizer at him. it lowers his chance to repair damage, albeit slowly. A small one will do nicely, just run that alongside your guns.
