Sec and Sat's Lottery
Roll up, Roll up Take a ticket and spin the wheel of fortune
Ok there's no wheel but there are prizes.
Lottery info
This week we are running 2 lotteries. The 1st ending on Wednesday 25th June will be our "free lottery" and will now have a set prize each week of 50m ISK to the winner. This lottery is for characters aged between 15 days and 2 months to help get them started in eve but also as a bit of fun too. Yes you did read right it's free.
We will also have a lottery on Saturday 28th June which will be a paid event and will have a prize of a Republic Fleet Firetail fitted with a Gistii A type MWD worth about 200 m in total and a second prize of 10m ISK. Tickets for this Saturdays lottery are 5 m each and all profits go towards the free lottery.
The lotteries will now also be 49 tickets rather than just 20 which means there are more slots available for players and also we can use a national lottery bonus ball as our means of drawing a winner, we will be using the first ball out as a means of choosing our runner up.
The total cumulative entry fees for the paid (Saturday) lotteries will come to more than the prize is worth. This is to fund the free lotteries which will predominantly be for younger characters of roughly 2 weeks - 2 months of age (preferably for newer players but we can't prove that some "young" alt characters won't be created just to attempt to gain from it).
Rules
Sorry but there has to be rules or things could go a bit pear shaped fast.
1, The free lottery is open only to young characters between the ages of 15 days and 2 months (this will be verified before you are entered). This is in an attempt to allow new players to the game to benefit from this charity.
2, Tickets for the free lottery are restricted to 1 per person/character. Tickets for the paid lottery are not restricted, if someone wishes to buy all the tickets and pay over the odds for the prize then that's acceptable.
3, In the event that some tickets remain unsold we (the organisers) will judge whether the event will take place or if refunds are to be given. If it is decided that the event will still run and the winning ticket is an empty slot then the prize will rollover to the next week (double payout). Ticket prices will only reflect the cost of that weeks prize, and will not include the cost of the prize which has rolled over.
4, Donations are gladly accepted but will not increase the chances of winning. We won't be bought.
5, Entries must be placed before the end of downtime on the respective draw days. This is so we can check everything is right and that people have paid entrie fees/characters fall within the correct age range.
6, For entries to the paid lottery you must post here with the number/s you choose (asking for "any number" just means more work at our end) and send the entry fee to "The Rat Race" corporation stating "Lottery Entry Fee" (Yohohoho, the CEO is my alt. The Rat Race is my alt's corp, Sec will have an alt in that corp when he gets to a comp).
7, In the event of a mistake being made by us (the organisers) we will judge the severity of the mistake and make good any "cock ups" by compensating the wronged party at our discretion.
8, Once entries have been placed there will be no refund unless the lottery is cancelled due to low turnout (see rule 3)
9, Both lotteries will have the winning tickets picked from the bonus ball on the UK lotteries on those respective days. The runner up in the paid lottery will be chosen by the first ball out on the correspoding Saturday lottery.

Sorry, we do have to explain.
We were planning on giving something worth more, but the Firetail was donated, and it seems fitting that these two go together.
It seems every lottery gets the "scam!" stuff these days, but we aren't pocketing anything. Maybe we get a large sum back, but with the amount of money we'll be giving away, it might last 3 free lotteries, or 4, instead of 1 or 2....but rest assured we're not pocketing anything.

Based on the generosity Satrani has shown in the past, I have no problem with him/her (not sure :P) making a large profit from this lottery. I don't see what the big deal is, anyway. You pay a small amount with the chance to get far, far, more. What's the problem there?

Just so as to make sure the wrong idea doesn't get spread around...if this "paying" lottery isn't successful we will go back to simply having only a free lottery. However, this presented a streamlined way of giving veteran players a way to donate with the possibility of a nice bonus, while allowing newer players to also receive some help.
So...all veteran players, we would be obliged if you participated...but it's not the end of the world if you don't. ;)
In brief: whether or not this is a success, we'll keep on giving.

That gives you about 30 minutes to get your entries in.
Draw takes place at about 21.30 eve time tonight. See OP for the link to the lottery result.

Ok post to confirm you have snt isk and I'll add you to the line up.
Heyte, your ISK has been refunded as per your request. The problem was thet we changed the way the lottery was run, making the free lottery available only to younger characters and the main lottery a paid event. Your original payment was only equivalent to the entry for our old lottery and so didn't cover the cost of the new paid lottery, and you are unfortunately too old for the free lottery. I hope you will consider using our lottery in the future though.

Okay, we're going to continue hosting this lottery for another 2 days. So, until the 30th of June. If all the slots aren't filled by then(we hope they will be,) don't worry about it, we'll do the drawing anyway and keep drawing until we have a winner, even if we have empty slots. Yeah, we'll lose some ISK, but that's okay. Hopefully we'll fill the lottery up next time.
Who knows, maybe in 2 days it will fill up?
Anyway, keep on buying tickets. ;) It's all good. |

The results are in and the result is......no result!
Winning ball was 2 which wasn't taken.
Runner-up ball was 46 which also wasn't taken.
To view the results please see this link to the UK lottery website. The result you are looking for will be top left (may take a little while to update).
This means that the prizes will carry over to next weeks draw and will be added to next weeks prizes. A new post will be made tomorrow with the details of next weeks draw.

Number 11 wasn't one of the winners and because you hadn't paid you weren't entered so you don't owe anything either.
Next lottery will end next saturday and will include the Firetail, Gistii MWD and also 2 Republic Fleet Overdrive Injectors and a Republic Fleet Nanofibre Internal Structure. The overdrives and nanofibres are exactly the same stats as Domination.
