For one, I know I have enough channels on my screen. Anyone interested in joining "The Ninja Alliance" would be welcome, as we would happily welcome all "Ninja Ore Thieves"... ...the profession which predates Ninja Salvaging.

I wholeheartedly approve this product and/or service.
With the recent influx of wardecs (10+ in two months? we're popular!) we've made some strategic decisions, so while we're focusing on the Mission Hubs (Dodixie, Motsu, etc.) you usually won't find us docked there.
If we can't beat them undocking (damn those Inty's and their fast lock times!) then we'll cost them ISK using Locater Agents!

Bounty channel is open for all the scum of eve, but if you're a douche expect the mods to abuse their powers fully. - Violence isn't the answer, it is the question. The answer is yes. |

Nah, there's still plenty of ore thieves around. Most seem to loiter around Sinq Laison from what i've found.

Edited by: Sin Fae on 24/06/2008 02:31:53 I am a professional ore thief. Well, some consider me a mining tax agent.
Dying? Well, with the advent of the hulk we have passed the "golden age" of ore thieving. Another thing is probably be prepared to find a good pipe to go down - you cant just draw from a few belts anymore.
I just made 60 mil in the last two hours, but then again I am the best thief in New Eden. And it's Monday heh.
It is really hard to "get into" the trade nowadays and see decent profit if you are learning. Also, one must change and adapt to new technology and tactics, just as the ganking pirate does.
I started out stealing in a shuttle and a Badger because, quite frankly, I lost all my ships to belt fighting. Since I don't do missions I had no choice. I'll still do it today for a change of pace.
Basic Can Flipping
Nowadays I have my 4th generation ore thief rig and it does well.

I'd say we're hardly a dying breed. It's just gotten alot more challenging since I last played.
I do still consistantly run into competition and have to beat them to the punch. It's alot more worrysome to try and beat other theives than it is for miners to actually intelligently defend themselves.
Basically, I'll only take the ore for moneys sake if they aren't offering a fight or don't smack talk me for epic lulz. Those things being said, I don't find this to be very profitable for me.

Could you elaborate on this point? Are russians so big and mean and proficient in exacting revenge, or are you russian and protecting your fellows?

From my experience they're hot headed and easily coaxed into making mistakes. Also being smacking in Cirilyc is rather funny.

when all the miners of eve will start mining with a secure container and an industrial near, you can consider the ore thief work as "dead"

Not necessarily so. I've had more than one occasion where I've seen a secure container without a password. From there, the Indy is no real threat, as they're also usually slow to pull the ore from the open container. (...which I have open already, and usually see being filled from a secure location 150+ K away.)
