I had seen for many Sci-Fi genres - Star Wars, Star Trek, even Babylon 5 I think, have books like these. They would be complete with specs, stats, blueprints, and cros-sections of the ships and the full interiors.
The most amazing stuff, that probably a lot of us have seen, were these books of Star Wars ships - It would be awesome to have one of all the ships in EVE.
I imagine thats a lot of artwork to be done, but perhaps this would be a project that CCP's Art Department might even enjoy, despite the cruel hours put into the book? I imagine it would sell well, and be a must-buy for EVE fans.
I don't know what everyones else feelings on this are though - what does everyone else have to say about such a book - would you buy it?

Hell yeah!
One thing of particular interest to me (at least right now) is the differences between T1 and T2 hull variations. As I understand it, T1 ships are good old fashioned designs retrofitted for capsules, whereas T2 has been gutted and redesigned specifically for capsule integration. While similar on the outside I'd imagine there's some striking differences on the inside with much of the crew space replaced by more powerful and largely automated systems...
Would be fun to see, and I'd be willing to pay dearly to get my hands on a copy.

That's a great blueprint, but something to probably expect in the corner of each page. You'd prolly want each page of the book to have the full ship in detail, with a crossection showing the interiors and such.
When I say crossections, this being the main attraction in the books, I mean like this.
They also list a description, the history, etc., and the stats too - which could be easily be done with EVE ships, which is really half done already if you think about it - the artwork is the only real work to be done.

Thats a good schematic, but there is far too much empty crew space inside it - it's a battleship, not a transport, so it should primarily be designed around it's equipement - meaning that most space it taken up by reactors, thrusters, engines, power conduits, etc..You dont have a luxury to waste materials or space on a combat ship
I like how the Homeworld ships were made, especially their Ion Cannon Frigate - a whole ship wrapped around a single cannon, because it was so bulky.

Oh, I'd pay lots of money for something like this :D
They could even expand the ingame information and add some stuff like history of each ship, and the pictures could also be used ingame for invention/production to spice up things.

Small images, shame they aren't bigger. They were really just nothing more then info not his ships really, just a wire-frame model with some very simple specs about them - where did they come from? I presume they are really old, before RMR?

While this would be totally awesome, I doubt any of the ships where designed with interiors in mind though and it would totally not work for most ships.

Yeah unfortunately the nails to this coffin have already been hammered in...
You take an apoc....standing still....you double click behind it (make it turn 180)..watch what happens..as the ship turns into the turn and is sent from its vertical stance to nearly laying on it side to make the turn..
Sure thereÆs no gravity in space....but wait how does all this crew do its work ???..artificial gravity on such turns would see crew being thrown around like rag dolls...not to mention the effects on the human body any gravity would have @ high speeds..
In todayÆs day and age...when day to day tasks are slowing becoming automated..wouldnÆt 100,000 years into the future see things like engineering and repairs ect be undertaken by robots with complex ai's/neural network's....humans will be redundant..
My point here is simple....there are too many inconsistencies between the real world and eve....making such a book..shines a bloody big light on said inconsistencies...
in other words it seems more viable as a concept (eve, spaceships ect)...if we dont see the insides
In a way i would like to see the book...but more ways i do not want to see such a book
