I started probing quite soon after it was broght out, and was probably my favourate past time.
However with so many people doing it now, you are at a major disadvantage if you are not able to log on soon after downtime. With not so many people probing sites would remain undiscovered for a day or 2 giving you chance to find them if you look. I can only log on about 2000 eve time by which time everything has gone. I can search 20-30 systems and not get a single thing.
Are there other people finding the same?

I'm probing in high sec, and often times near populated hub-areas (as far as Amarr space goes anyhow) and I usually find sites after 2-4 systems.
Mostly play about 6-8 hours after downtime.
So as far as high sec goes, no problems for me. Of course, if you are probing in/around Caldari space where 80% of the players are hanging out, most of the systems will be depleted of undiscovered sites. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |

Actually the sites are supposed to spawn during the day when old ones are completed so you dont need to log in right after downtime to find them. I agree that 0.0 seems to be empty, in the past week I have dropped around 40 multispecs and found two signatures.

Sites respawn when they are completed however there are 2 things to keep in mind with this.
-The respawn happens anywhere (assuming RNG determined)within a block of same-security space and from what I have been able to gather does not necessarily work on an even distribution per constellation....although one would hope this is worked in on some level to keep things even.
-There are still a lot of problems with sites not truely despawning once completed. Doesn't seem like a problem with the 1-2 you find on a nightly basis but think about the big picture and it becomes more realistic that this is actually generating an impact to the player base in the realm of site availabilty/respawn.
And to your point there are a lot more people doing this so while one might assume higher turnover equating directly to more sites the math doesn't work quite that nicely for everyone involved.
Personally I have found, over the course of the last couple of months, that hit-or-miss evenings are more and more prevelant.
I am just thankful I kept exploration as an alt-only activity as it just isn't a consistent ISK generator from my perspective.

Oh and fail post remains fail considering sitting around for that 6-8 hours ratting or running level 4's will net WELL over 100M. (And I know the bounty you pulled from those escalations did not cover the difference.)

If the old sites are not despawning then they should still be scanable. If there are fewer sites to be scanned (I've had some bad luck too) that is not the reason. and I don't have any better luck following DT then I do any other time of day (as expected.)

as far as i am aware of, once a site has been run, it will not respawn until after downtime. the only sites that will respawn are the cosmos sites.
Also, I am in wicked creek and I and others have noticed a big decrease of sites and anomolies in the past week or so.

Providence (the half that i am scanning) also seems to have a problem with lack of exploration content. The dense Population combined with the questionable way how stuff respawns makes scanning allmost useless if you cant logon right after the downtime.
2-3 hours after downtime the usual scanning results for 8 constellations is exactly zero. The last gravimetric i have seen is month ago, just like mag sites.
I think the respawn argorithm is a failure. The problem lies withing the meta regions in which a finished plex/anomalie will respawn. After some time exploration sites are "moving" away from the dense populated well scanned areas towards those regions where no one is living or no one is scanning because of wars or alike. And once they are there, they wont come back, especially gravimetrics, which wont despawn. I think it would be better to have a more even distribution which asures available content also for dense populated regions.

Mmm, all that monotony and effort...wheras my alt probes, zeros' all the sites, while my main is ratting triple 1.5mil BS spawns....trust me, that makes more than missions per day.

I found a Radar site 3 days ago, a Magno site 2 days ago, and hit anomalies at least 3 times a day, and yes, I live and probe in Providence too.
IMO it's a bit like mission hubs; take your ship to more abandoned systems, it *will* give you results.
The only thing that really doesn't spawn often are 5/10 plexes and higher; I haven't had any luck finding them in the last 2 months, although others have, not many though.

There is a dev post somewhere recently that says DT has nothing to do with sites spawning. As further evidence I have personally had a site spawn while I was in the system.

So have I. I'm honestly starting to suspect that they changed the respawn frequency in the last patch. The number of sites available has plumetted in my experience.

Im glad Im not the only one who thinks that there is a drop in the number of cosmos signatures. I have done a dozen systems today and not detected a single one.
It has never been a case of a signal every other or every third system here, but would usually be about 1 in 4 or 5 I would find stuff.
And its not like I dont konw what Im doing, I have been probing for a long time and taught many others how to probe. Maybe that was my fault. Teaching too many people ;)

I think that's it :p Your video was great and one of the things that put me onto exploration.
I guess we should probably also blame Waterflame for the awesome music track that made me watch the video 10,000 times too :)
