I'm not certain why we were wardecced by Remedy Inc., but I believe that they are a Merc Corp, so it's possible that one of our current War Targets felt the need to pull in backup, or a hapless Mission Runner thought they would try to make an example of us.
(Just when the last of our wardecs came to an end, suddenly, we're hit with four more!)
So, last night, a few of our Ninjas were in the Dodixie, and there were no war targets. I was in the midst of helping out one of our newer Members, who was also a new Player to EvE. We were scanning down Mission Runners and salvaging in some Missions, when I noted that we had a new War Target from Remedy Inc. log on.
A quick check of their Info showed that they were a newer character, and we quickly gathered some Intel. I docked up, and noted that the WT was docked with me, as I quickly swapped ships to my Harbinger. I noted that, as quickly as I had docked, our WT had undocked, so I called in one of our Members to do a quick 'once over' of the station to see if he was camping it, which he was, in his Crow.
I figured it should be easy to blow the ship, if I was even able to lock it, as these damn Inties are so hard to lock in a BC, so I undocked and attempted to engage... Getting into range, I was surprised to find that our WT actually engaged me!
I was scrammed and webbed, but so was he in moments, and I was surprised to find out that the whole 'battle' only took 14 seconds before he was floating there in his pod!
I was totally taken off guard, and once again, was scrambling with stupid overview issued, but this time, I had actually remembered to release my drones...
...which I coincidentally targeted and shot down in the excitement and confusion.
While I was frantically trying to regain my composure, I finally noticed that I had, in fact, blown up the ship, and that my Victim's pod was haplessly floating in space. I vigorously tried to target and scram it (which would have easy for pretty much anyone else) but because I wasn't paying close enough attention (again) I missed it as it warped out.
At the end of the battle, I slowboated my way over to the wreck to pick clean the spoils of war, and then docked up. I was suddenly convo'd by another pilot, who told me that he had looted the wreck, and got one of the 'choice' drops - A Gistii B-Type 1MN MicroWarpdrive!
Quite nonchalantly, I asked, "Can I have it?" and he actually sent it back to me via trade window! Class act, this guy!
All in all, I chalk this one up in the 'Win' Column... I was exceptionally happy with the result, and here's the KillMail for the battle:
Victim: *** Alliance: None Corp: ****** *** Destroyed: Crow System: Dodixie Security: 0.9 Damage Taken: 1693
Involved parties:
Name: Tchell Dahhn (laid the final blow) Security: 0 Alliance: None Corp: Suddenly Ninjas Ship: Harbinger Weapon: Focused Medium Pulse Laser II Damage Done: 1693
Destroyed items:

Overall, the ship and fittings were worth almost 134M ISK, so it made a nice addition to our lagging "Kills" Section!
...but, that wasn't the ONLY engagement of the evening!

And props to the guy for giving it back to you. Can't say I'd have done the same, unless it was a pilot I knew and respected.

tip o the day: that mwd is only worth roughly 20-30mill(which isnt bad by normal loot standards but for complex loot its pretty terrible)otherwise decent read.

A couple of minutes later, we noted that another WT had entered the system, again, in a Crow. I immediately thought it could be a trap, since they knew that we had already popped one of their Inties only moments before.
I had a couple of newer Members in the system, and a PvP Member a few jumps out, but he was in a PvE fitting (go figure) and needed to retool before he'd be able to engage our new targets.
I asked our Members to make a jump out to each system, to check to see if any WT's were camping the gates, ready to jump in and engage, and then I got the intel that our PvP Member (upon entering our system) was locked by their CEO, flying in a Cyclone!
I have to give the CEO credit - he's a knowledgeable pilot. He didn't fire a shot or take an aggressive action, which would have risked his inability to jump into the system to support his friend in the Crow!
We did another check of the info, and found that their CEO has been online since 2004, so we immediately knew that he wouldn't be prone to make many (if any) mistakes.
(At least, not the mistakes I'd been making lately!)
I decided to convo the CEO, to let him know we were aware of his skills.
Tchell Dahhn > I applaud your tactics. Tchell Dahhn > Not firing on my Member (heh) so that you don't get denied the gate...
(I didn't get a response, but I left the convo open.)
My PvP Member finally got into the system, and was immediately attacked by their CEO. He managed to tank the damage, until he could hit the gate and warp into an adjacent system...
That's when I made another blunder... (Lots of these, eh?) I noted that both of our WT's were no longer in my system, so I knew they were hunting my other Member! I quickly sent this in Corp Chat...
Tchell Dahhn > They're chasing you. Tchell Dahhn > They left system!
...or what I thought was Corp chat. It turns out I just sent that to their CEO.
/me facepalms.
What happened next made me laugh. I sent a quick "oops"...
Tchell Dahhn > Hmm - that's a great tactic. Type in the wrong window. :S LOL!!! ...and received the only response to my convo...
WT CEO > :)
Well, at least he had a good sense of humor!
Another PvP Member logged on, and we finally got all of our online Members into the system, and they went about refitting their ships and preparing. With a Mega, my Harby, a Drake and a Caracal, we went hunting their Cyclone, and a couple of Crows.
The Mega pilot and I went to our respective safe spots, aligned and ready, and left the Drake outside of the CEO's station as 'bait'. He came out once or twice, and was scrammed and webbed, but chose to redock, knowing fully well we were planning an ambush.
(I have to say, he was WELL AWARE of the ambush once our 'bait' called us to warp in, only to realize afterward that the CEO hadn't fired a shot, and redocked easily. We had tipped our hand, and our 'bait' felt awful about the whole thing, knowing he had been premature on the call-in.)
The whole game of 'peek-a-boo' went on for another hour and a half or so, with a couple of the crows doing a 'fly by' to see what was going on, but no further engagements. A little after 1:00 a.m. EST (I was tired - 5am comes way to early!) the various WT pilots logged, and I did the same.
This was the first time I (personally) had ever had a nicely co-ordinated operation, where we kept one of our WT's station bound, and it was a fantastic experience.
Kudos to Remedy Inc. for some seriously tense moments, and some of the best action and tactics I've seen in game!

I have to say I like your well written posts but I just want to be clear on somthing... U shot your own drones?
I am sorry if I am confused but thats what I gathered while reading the post. HOW does that happen?? And if it did happen I can tell you I can relate to getting too excited in the heat of battle.
I was in 0.0 and I inadvertently went to a hostile area to get some items I had bought. I was in a cloaking Rupture so I figured I could dock get my item and book in my cloaked ship before they knew what happened.
In the pulse pounding adrenaline rush I tried the Microwarp Drive/Cloak trick. But just as I cloaked I double clicked the cloak button since I was so nervous and UNcloaked right after I had cloaked.
By that time the enemy had got a clue and sent about 4-5 ships to pop me.

In my own defense, I only shot one.

Ceptor engaging first at short range ftl. Those things are a pain to lock and kill. (I have my way of killing them though)
Keep it up Tchell. Let me know if you ever need back up.

... You are hopeless! Well you're apparently already aware that your overview was jacked up. That's a good start. My recommendation is that you save multiple overview settings. And make sure that the one you normally use does NOT have drones on it. Little buggers move around to much and mess things up. If you need to target drones, then switch to a setting with just drones on it, and then back again. Makes life a bit easier.

That is a great suggestion. I'm going to mod up the Overview tonight!
Thanks!

Sometimes you have to shoot the troublesome ones in front of the others, just to show them who's the boss. Otherwise they'll be all over the place...
