Polys are not expensive just because they are, they are expensive because they are popular (and share components with other really popular rigs - cargohold optimizers).
It's quite obvious why they are popular, so don't blame high prices - by buying and using polys you make these prices.

I rather liked the OP idea on webs and poly's?
