Idara The Aggressors	Posted - 2008.06.25 15:33:00 - [1] Out of boredom I've trained up to T2 Siege Launchers and Caldari BS 5 with the goal of getting a nice torp-Raven setup as with the damage boost to their short range game it appeals to me. However, I have never tried to properly fit a Raven beyond a spider-tank fit on my alt's Ravens for running missions together. I was looking @ 6x Siege IIs 1x 100mn MWD, 1x WD II....the mid slots baffle me TBH. Not sure what else I can fit. 3x BCU II, 1x DCU II, 1x PDU II. Anyone give a poor Caldari PVP nubbin a hand? --- in EVE - Idara

Shurq Ellale	Posted - 2008.06.25 16:41:00 - [5] Something like Esmenet's is the way to go. It's pretty much impossible to wedge a good active tank on there if you're using T2 sieges. If you drop to arbalests, you can fit a a cap-boosted XLSBII tank, but you need both a cpu and grid mod to make it fit. Also, hi Zang.

Battleships in general and ravens in particular have a hard time tackling because of their shoddy speed, agility, and lock time. Having a battlecruiser as tackler is ideal because it can pin down a target, act as bait/scout, and provide a good amount of firepower while tanking gates. It's still a good idea to fit a point because odds are you will come across multiple enemies. There are better setups out there but they usually require AWU 5 and/or fitting implants. Yeah because knowing how a Kestrel or Caracal fits is extremely useful when it comes to knowing how a Raven does. I was looking for a setup, not worthless "opinion". Ravens shouldn't tackle, but you can swap out the amp or an invul for a disruptor. - -

You DO NOT active tank a Raven for PVP UNLESS you have a crystal set. In which you can do whatever you really want. Three buffered ravens will bring three perma-tank ravens down quicker than three of you can down single buffered raven. And I'm willing to bet the buffered ravens won't even need extender rigs.

No MWD, no point, no neut, no painting no T2 launchers so lacking gank (and the 4th BCU doesnt make up for that). Great for capital kills though if you have logistics. Fair enough, usually good for gang work. Considering I cannot use T2 launchers there isn't really an option. Painting I find to be bleh against BS targets, if you care enough swap ogres for TP heavies. It also most certainly has a point and neut. ;) You could always swap the mediums for a large if you used an RCUII and had AWU trained a bit. No MWD is a downside however in most pvp these days you're either within torp range or pewing at each other at 100+.
