well, ofc, im just theorycrafting, and im aware that module lag plays a big role.
what about the nanofiber/istab thing i mentioned... any interesting numbers for this little problem?

There's less than a 0.1s difference in lock time between the nanofiber and istab. If the istab provides more than 0.1s in align time, it's worthwhile.

I've crunched some numbers before and come to the conclusion that you should always fit at least 2 istabs before you fit any nanos.
Blockade runner : align time 6s sig rad 150
time to lock with 2000 scan res = 10000/2000 / ASINH(150) = 5 / 5.70 = 0.88s *this formula is wrong but a good approximation I believe
so we are relying on 5.12s of 'lag' to escape
if we now fit one local hull istab, 8% increase in sig rad, 20% reduction in align time
align = 3*0.8 = 4.8s sig = 1.08*150 = 162mm time to lock = 10000/2000 / ASINH(162) = 5/5.78 = 0.865s
so we are relying on 3.935s of lag to escape
Fit an nanofibre instead (12.5% mass reduction)
align time = 3*0.875 = 5.25s sig = 150 time to lock = 10000/2000 / ASINH(150) = 5/5.70 = 0.88s
so we are relying on 4.37s of lag to escape
So in this case the istab is better and this doesn't really change for different sig rads and scan resolutions.
Remember the sig rad penalty is also stacking penalised so i would fit:
2 lows : 2 istab 3 lows : 2 istab 1 nano
and if rigging polys and istabs are a lot better than low frictions and nanos
Another point is that a major source of the 'lag' seems to be something to do with the server tick time (something like 1.2s). I'm not sure how it works but the ship will appear on the overview with a velocity anywhere from 0 m/s up to whatever it's velocity is after about 1s or so.

You underestimated. At 4.5 million SP I'm 26 days away from a CovOps ship + 5 says for the covert ops cloak.
15 days to train one, is not the same thing as 15 days to get in one.
I would really REALLY like to know how your training for Cov-ops ships in 15 days, even from the best build new char to get the closest skills to cov ops...its about 30-40 days to train for even Cov-ops I.
Electronic Upgrades V (approx 25 days) Racial frig V (approx 14 days, taking for granted your starting with frig IV)
Thats about 40 days, then you need electronics V and cloak IV to actually make use of it....talking about another 14-15 days there.
15 days? do your research before you start spouting false information.

Funny, I don't consider training Electronics 5 a burden on anyone. Frig 5 + El Up 5 takes, what, 18-20 days tops? Cloak 4 takes maybe another 4 days, for a total of 22-24 days for any sort of half-way reasonable skillset?
You should really, you know, take a chill pill before jumping on a bandwagon of *****ing. Just saying, but it's a bad path to go down.

No, it's because HICs have infinite warp disruptor strength at 30km. Your 2 WCS points <<<< Infinite disruption points.

Ed: As an addendum, I wouldn't put it past me to put a triple sensor boosted Muninn on the gate and merely instapop you as you go by. No disruptor needed. -- It was an honor to participate in the Insurgency campaign in Branch. o7 to all involved. |

/signed... Even a Thrasher with T1 arties can do it in most cases = insta-popping T1 frigs = no need to scram
I cannot believe that ppl suggest AB over MWD...
Cloak+mwd trick works for T1 frigs just like it does for transports when u hit a bubble Join the Biggest Greek Corp! www.Mythos-eve.com - Join Mythos Channel in game! |

We agree way more times we both dare to admit
And another suggestion: do not over-do it with stabs in a frig... Most warp off so fast, that when counting in game mechanics (time lost as soon as you hit warp-to-0km, decloaking and someone actually seeing you in space, more time till u are shown in overview, then the wonna-be-tackler's reaction time etc + finally the locking speed) makes T1 frigs nearly invulnerable to scramming, even versus remotely boosted ships and most standard or sensor booster ceptors.
If you manage to get scrammed by a RSBed HIC, nothing will help u.
So do not fit more than 1x stab, just for that rare occasion u will get lazy and make a mistake. Fit nano-mods in place of extra stabs. Work towards your strengths. I-STABs >> all other nanomods when you have 1-2 slots for them, but a nanofiber would be handy for that extra uuuump needed to evade bubbled camps in 0.0. Also use nanofibers to avoid stacking penalties for i-stabs when u get more than 3 lows to fill. Join the Biggest Greek Corp! www.Mythos-eve.com - Join Mythos Channel in game!

As someone who flies a Prowler fittings nanofibers in the lows is a much better option than istabs when you rig with Polycarbs.
Standard lowsec running setup is a T2 cloak, 2x polycarbs, 2x nanofibers, 10MN MWD. With being able to align while cloaked the time it takes to accelerate to warp speed is much more important than shaving a couple of seconds off the align time, but that's just my 0.02ISK (along with the fact that if you don't polycarb your BR or put cargo expanders instead of agility mods in the lows you're a ******)
As for T1 frigs, any agility-fit frig will do it - Incursus and Rifter work best from my experience. Toss a cloak in the highs and they'll never catch you 'cause agility-fit frigs pretty much instawarp even from a dead stop if they're already aligned (which you can do while cloaked). Covops make great lowsec haulers as well since they can warp while cloaked, along with recons (these last two have the advantage of being able to fit cargo expanders as well) |

Nanofibers stack with polies... I'm sure you meant to fit istabs or overdrives instead?

The time to accelerate to warp speed IS the align time. 2 x polys 2 x nanos is a terrible fit due to stacking penalties. If you are trying to run a 0.0 bubble camp then top speed becomes more important but in low sec I would always run a max agility (agility = agility modifier x mass) setup. Also bear in mind that with MWD running during the cloak trick the nanos are having a smaller affect on your align time as they only effect the base mass.

Get a Kestrel, good low slots, warps very fast and can hold 305m3.
