Hi I have tried to build a industrial tool that covers most of EVE-Online's industry. You will find tools for mining, building T1, T2, T3, Capitals and Rigs, and latest the Planet interaction
Latest: The Capital sheet has had a makeover, you now have 5 slots instead where any capital ship can be build from. The sheet is build in MS office 2010, so users of 2003 and earlier office versions needs to download Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack
Download: Version 12,8,1 Mediafire or EVE files
HowTo manual 1,7
In this sheet you will find the following Industrial tools:
- Ore Mining
- Ice Mining.
- Ore to mine, calculated from mineral-need.
- Ice to mine, calculated from fuel-need.
- Ore Corp Mining calculator.
- Ice Corp Mining calculator.
- Planet Interaction
- POS Fueling/Reaction.
- T1 Ship, items & Rig Production.
- T2 Ship, Items & Rig Production.
- Tech III production.
- Capital Production
- Jump Freighter production
To upload your oven skills to this sheet, do like this. 1st. log in to this forum 2nd. click this link APIKEY site 3th. Enter the ApiKey and UserID in to the sheet, then click update. Thats it
The XML price and skill update is supported only in Office 2003-2010 Pro. Office 2003 and earlier, needs to download Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack
Open office do not support direct XML update
Anyway let me know what you think of it or maybe even new idea's, ofcause isk donations is always appreciatedVery Happy
enjoy
NB: Don't Update prices every 5min, then you will be blocked by the firewall. Ones a day should be enough.
FAQ. 1) Which API key does this sheet require? Normally you only need the simple API key, this key can be used for skills and price updates. You only need the full API key if you need to import your CORP towers to the POS production sheet, for monitoring the towers fuel.
2) When I click update, my skills are not upgraded? You need Microsoft Office 2003pro 2007pro or 2010pro to use the API skill import. Open Office or none Pro MS office version, do not support XML import, therefore you can not do import of skills or price information when using OpenOffice or none Pro. MS office, but you do have the option to enter skills and price info manually.
3) Why do I get the error: This workbook has lost its VBA project, ActiveX controls and any other programmability-related features. Your Excel ActiveX security is too high. You have 2 options, either lower the security or put the sheet in to a trusted folder. opt.1 Activex link opt.2 Trusted folder link
4) My CORP TowerGÇÖs are not listed in the POS production sheet? To be able to see you CORP towerGÇÖs in the POS production sheet, then you need 2 things.
- You need the full API key, the simple key is not enough.
- You need to be Director or CEO

You will find those items in the Planet interaction tool. The reason for this is, that they do not using standard minerals to build but Planet material. Scroll down to cell D72 and select Tower or array's. |

Ow and the evelopedia article needs updating to this new thread. H, good to hear you like the tool. The new Key is working great already, i just wanted to add the option of a 2nd character API to the sheet. This is what takes a bit longer than expected. But im almost there now, my goal is to release a new version this weekend.

Hi Wa'roun It is in the list, it it just because i put the 3 most used regions in the top, so people wont have to scroll so much. Since The Forge is listed in the sheet by default, then Essence and Sinq Laison will be in the list a bow it, so just scroll up in the list and you will find it :)
I will upload a new version with the new API key and other nice things today.

I finally completed the sheet to be released with the new API key system of INCARNA. You are now able to upload 2 character APi keys and 1 Corp API key. And also i have build a backup/restore option for the DATA sheet, so in future version of this tool you will be able to restore you API keys and market info, that you have entered in the DATA sheet of the old version.
New Version 14

M Kernel wrote:Hey! Great Work with the new version! I really love this Sheet!
However, there's a small mistake: On the T2 Items Sheet, Minerals in Stock, it says "Importet from T1 Production Sheet", but it is not! On the same Sheet, the field "Industrial Character" should be a Drop-down I think.
Also, on the T3 Production Sheet it would be nice if the "Minerals In Stock" would be importet as well!
Keep up the great work! Hi M Kernel Thank you for the idea's with the linking of minerals in stock to the t1 sheet. It a thing i have been thinking about doing. But it limits the user to having only one stock of minerals, so i cant decide if i want to do it. The note in the t2 item sheet saying that is importing from t1 is a leftover from when i build it i guess, cause its not meant to do it. So i removed the note. you write about a problem with the drop-down menu for selecting characters in the t2 item sheet? i don't see the problem, i have the drop-down in my sheet. Anyway, im glad you like the sheet and you are always welcome to submit idea's and bugs.

Please check that. Hi Bontyj0y. very well spotted, i will make sure it is corrected in the next release. Thanks for bringing it up.

as always you are the best. i truly love your program.
Now to business. under the capital production tab there is a question i am hoping you can shine a light on.
Using Titan -> Erebus me 0 as example: you will notice that it requires 550 units of jump bridge arrays as one of its required components. You see it up top with everything else that is needed to create one but towards the bottom it does not show up in red like the others. is this a glitch? line 146 to be exact does not show the 550 units in red.
Let me know would ya
Thanks
Don Tiberon Hi Don Tiberon Its a bug for sure, i went trough all the components to make sure there were not other ones missing too. I have corrected it in the version that i have just uploaded.

Keep up the great work! <3 Thanks for supplying the links too, it helps a great deal when i need to find the errors or changes. I have corrected both of the issues you write about here in your post. It should now be more correct material needs in the planet interaction sheet.
Alisarina wrote:Another thing I noticed is the 'How To 1.7' link in your first post links to nothing. I've not played with the sheets too much yet but I noticed that almost right away. Any chance it could be re-uploaded? I have fixed the link to the help file. however it is very out dated. This is because i lost the original word file that i build the manual in. And i nor anyone else who tried to help, have been able to convert the PDF file back to a user able word version. Which means i have to start all over, but to be honest i haven't been that board yet

Dream Five wrote:Awesome work, thanks for adding all the new stuff!! wrt the new fuel block sheet, it looks like faction and non-faction towers calculate as consuming the same amount of fuel. Hi Dream Five I dont believe there are any difference in the fuel use anymore, when it comes to standard and faction towers.
This is a text copy pasted from the dev. block
Towers will use 1 block/hour for small, 2 blocks/hour for medium and 4 blocks/hour for large. The CPU and Power load will no longer have any impact on your fuel needs - all towers now need the same amount of fuel, regardless of configuration.
The one downside of this big-blocks approach is that it's impossible to give faction towers a fuel consumption bonus any more (you can't consume 2/3 of a block). We talked to some large-scale starbase operators about this, and they told us that the main bonus of faction towers for them is actually that they last longer between fuel cycles. To try and compensate for the increased running costs, we've taken the above bay size increases and added +25% bay size on top of that for the "tier 1" faction towers, and +50% bay size for the "tier 2" ones. We're hoping people will find that a satisfactory tradeoff, but we're listening for further feedback on this change.

Hi Arganas Paendrag
Another player Commander IceQ had a similar error, this is how he solved it.
Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Select "Microsoft Office" (DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK) -> right click and select "Change" Select "Add or Remove features" -> Scroll down to "Office Shared Features" -> set "Visual Basic for Applications" to "Not Available -> Click Continue. Once Office is finished removing "Visual Basic for Applications", follow the same instructions, this time install "Visual Basic for Applications" again. Macro's should be enabled and the xlsm file should load without any errors. :)
Good luck, let me know if it works.

For sure its a feature already, go to the DATA sheet and enter your own prices in the blue fields. Then go to the production or mining sheet you are working with and select price option as: Own Then the sheet will calculate using your values.

I would like to request something added to this already amazing tool. would it be possible in any given manufacturing tab ( capital building, etc,) to see the cost of the individual mineral types, IE : 12345 Megacyte costs : 12345 ISK ( with the price values indicated, buy / sell / average/own) so I can see what the most expensive part of my build is so I can see about finding a better source? this would go a long way to helping me. and I would love it if you included it in your spreadsheet.
Thanks much!
Edit:
could you also add in faction ships for manufacturing ? i don't see them in the T1 production, or are they listed under another tab? im not 100% sure i understand why you mean, each sheet already show the price of all minerals?
Regarding faction ships, they are in the T1 sheet under, Pirate ships and Navy ships.

Hi guys, that for all the feedback, im sorry i have been a bit away, thats why it has been some time since last update. But now i think i have managed to correct most of the issues you have reported.
i will try to give a short answer some of the questions you have here.
Lady Vici you asked about import of station items. This i have tried to do, but its a total mess up unless you only have material in a few stations. There are so many things i need to do for it to be simple to sort trough, so i gave up on that one. Too much work for the benefit. So i agree with Zifrian that this function isn't very useful.
Human Friend I do not see the bug you report about silo's, However when i was looking in to it, i found another issue with the Silos and the PI material, so that is corrected now. Thanks.
Hellenn T1 gang modules has been moved to T2 production sheet, due to the advance material need.
solardave The material use for the "Recursive computing module" has been corrected.
Blasfemy T1 & T2 missile names has been corrected.
Arpad Elo i think you might be using a none excel version or the excel you are using are not compatible with excel 2010
bomb1911 Fuel blocks in the POS production sheet is next on my list. Ii just wanted to upload this new version now, since it has been a few month since the last one.
Thanks again, i hope you will like the new version 14.3 |

Hi Everyone
I have just uploaded a new version 14.3.4 In this you vill find the name change for launchers and some missiles, but also the POS productions sheet is now using fuel blocks.
Ill try to answer to some of the questions here.
Batholomeus: Is it possible to insert a 3th Char? No at this time you can only upload 2 characters. I guess i could add another, but i'm sure someone will then as for 4. So for the time being 2 characters is the max you can upload.
Jattzie: Would it be possible, on the ore mining tab, to add lines in the ore section? Other people have asked it as well. But i still like to try keep the sheet simple, i have never mined everything in a belt I only went for the most valuable ore, unless it was a corp mining. But then you should use the Corp mining sheets in this tool.
Lord Callous: A way to list all the BP you own? In the T1 and rig sheets you have a list of similar to what you are asking, but of cause its only pr sheet, its doesn't show all you BP. Importing them with the API isnt an option. Its possible to some degree, but its doesn't show ME or PE. Also the item import from the API is a total mess, so tis doesnt really help much. But thanks for your idea's i appreciate it.
Katherine Austen: i would like to be able to get the price from a single system I dont think it will help much giving users right to change the import feeds, be cause they are very complex, so i doubt very many would be able to edit anything them self. But i like the idea with adding the solar system, this is an idea i will look in to, to see what i can come up with.
Squeaks: My only request would be an invention tab I would like to do an invention tab, but i have never done it myself ingame, so i do not know very much about the technical calculations. Therefore i cant really make anything useful tool at this time i think. But who knows maybe it finds my interest someday, then for sure i will make an invention tool.
Mary Celest: my mineral prices were all mixed around I think you may have a bug in the file that you downloaded, i dont see this error, so try to download it again.
Red Teufe: can't adjust the prices for moon goo on the pos production sheet. shows tech is 1 isk? There seem to be an issue with the statistic from Eve-central, it is not the sheet that are wrong, its the data its getting from the imported statistic file im afraid. What you can do is use your own prices for now. This is the direct feed from eve-central, scroll down to item number 16649, here you will see that the Median price is totally off as you mention.
AzAkiR NaLDa: it switched megacyte and zydrine amounts I dont see this issue, but it could be that you have a setup that make this error to show. Try to download the latest version and see if its the same. If it is, then feel free to contact me ingame, then we will have a look at it.
Thanks to all of you for the feed back, i hope you enjoy the latest version. Dedaf

hammerman You get the information about missing blueprint, because you haven't listed the component blueprint in the slots below, from row 115. For a more detailed description check the FAQ no.6 here
Zanban The sheet isn't compatible with OpenOffice anymore i'm afraid. In the beginning i was building the sheet in MS excel 2003 ".xls", but now I use MS office 2010 ".xlsm", which has a lot of features that are hardly MS office 2003 compatible. Therefore it is not compatible with OpenOffice anymore. Even if i would save the sheet in a .xls 2003 compatible version, then a lot of features would be removed, thereby making the sheet incorrect.

Chakin' Bloit wrote:Top notch calculator, the effort is much appreciated!
One question though - I've probably missed something but when I've set my POS details in the POS_Production sheet it calculates how many fuel blocks I'm missing as per normal as well as how much stront I'll need.
When I go to the Ice tab though to see how much of each type I need to mine, it only shows the stront and not the isotopes needed for the fuel blocks.
Is this functionality in there and I'm just missing it, or have I somehow broken things? I've looked through the manual but the page is missing for the POS_Production sheet. Hi Chakin Im glad you like the sheet. The issue you are describing is a bug i guess. Its a leftover from before fuel blocks were introduced, when towers needed pure ice fuel. It is a link i totally forgot about, so thanks for reminding me. I will remove this link, so In the future it will not be possible to link fuel need from POS sheet to ice mining. The main reason for this is, that you need a BP to build Fuel blocks, so direct link from POS sheet to Ice mining doesn't make much sense. What i will do instead is to make the link go from PI sheet to the ice mining sheet, so you can go mine for the ice material needed for Fuel block production.
i will make sure to correct this in the next release. Thanks for the feedback Dedaf |

Hi Vile Industrial thanks, i'm happy to know you like the tool. The error you describe is because of a excel 2010 feature that is not supported in excel 2007 or earlier. I have now changed the data validation in the T1 production sheet, so it should be working with pre 2010 excel versions.
I just uploaded a new version with the a bow change, plus some additional changes and corrections. Enjoy version 14.4 |

So only way for me to test this, is if someone lends med a CORP key, so i can try it out for myself. If someone is up for this, then contact me in game. But for now i do not have any way to check it myself.
Hi Chaotic Peace Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I think i had the option to build capital components in the beginning, but people got confused and thought they had to select ship and then set each component as well. That way they got double mineral need. So i deleted this option. But lets try again and see if its more logic now. I have added a field for each Capital component, so you can build them separately from the ships. It will be in the next release, that i publish after Inferno 1,2 on 8th of Aug.

Hi Blodhgarm Dethahal I was thinking about it, but the tax is calculated from a estimated value of the material, so i think it is too incorrect for any real use. But maybe i could add the option to enter the % and then calculate it from your own material prices. But i still think its gonna be too inaccurate to be of any real help. Thanks for the idea.
Hi Vile Industrial Yes i had corrected the material need for building the Barge and Exhumers. But i wasn't aware of the change that was done to some of the T1 frigates. Thanks for the heads up.
I have corrected the mineral need for the T1 frigates in the latest version.

Hi Zuleikha They are there, but just with the old name, look in Ship_equipment -> Shield, there you will find them look for Field and Amplifier. They all have the same mineral amount so it dont matter which on you select. I will make sure to correct the names in the next version. |

Im sorry if this question was previously made. Even whit this last version (16,6,5), in the POS Sheet, the Tool can get the towers but not the fuel that they still have.
Is this a bug from the API or from the tool?
I think its a bug from when the fuel blocks came in. I don't have a tower to test on, so i cant test or correct it at the moment. Last time someone mentioned this, i asked if there were anyone willing to lend me a API key, then i could try to correct it. Other vice i will have to wait till i need a tower again.

Those 2 items are not in the tool because there are no original blueprint as fare as i can see. If i was to add them then i should also start to add all the named items. I have decided only to have T1 items with Original blue prints, so that is why you dont find them.

Ever since you upgraded to where it requires 2010 or 2007 with compatibillity install I cannot hardly use it. I run on linux and have never even wanted to purchase 2007 and 2010 for my systems so the only time I can even look at these is when I'm at the campus library or so on. Why did you change from where 2003/openoffice/libreoffice could read it? Seems to be more of a detriment even for those on windows who cannot afford microsoft's overpriced crap software suite. I'm happy to know that you like the tool and that you want to use it. But i cant really do anything about compatibility in Microsofts products. I want to make use of all the nice new features in 2007 and 2010 instead of staying in a old version. You could also argu that its too bad it doesnt work on Appel products. But im really making this tool for my own use and because i like playing with Excel, sharing it with others is just for the fun of it. I tried to make a 2003 compatible version at one point, but at some point that just want possible anymore either.
So im sorry to hear that you cant use the tool, but im afraid i cant do anything about it. |

I checked it this morning and it seem the error comes from a change CCP has done to the SOV system feed. It seems that im no longer able to pull the system info, the way i have been doing till now. A workaround for now untill i upload a new version, will be not to use the "update everything", but use the update bottons in each of the productions tools. Except for the update button in the POS production tool, as it is asking for system SOV, so you will get the same error her.

Hi Aphelion The character skill tree API itself, doesn't contain the name, so directly it is not possible. But after thinking a little bit about your question, then i came up with the idea of adding a test character, that does not have API imported skills. So in the DATA sheet, you can now change skills manually on this 3rd character and select that character in the tool you want to play with the skills. i think it works pretty well, so i hope you like it.

Hi Sidrat True, that has always been an option, however i like my tool to be very clean and simple. Take Dedaf for example, he has 346 skills at this moment. But the sheet only need around 40skill to work and each individually tool in the sheet, only need from 1-5 skills. So players would have to sort trough 346 skills to find and change those 1-5 skills, and next time they did an update of the prices and skills, all changes would be reset. So to do an import of 346 names, conflicts with the simplicity and cleanness of the tool. It is to me a waist of data, that only very few people would ever use, and only need just to play around with skills, it wouldn't effect the tool function in any way.
So the good thing with this extra character that i added, is that whoever want to play around with the skills can switch between hes real skills and the test character skills, just by a single click in a dropdown menu. That is to me very simple and clean setup, that i think a lot of people would find handy.
But thanks for the imput, its always good hear other peoples ideas. Dedaf

Hi Thelodas i have tried with 3 different PC now both with excel 2007 and 2010, but I doesn't get the error you describe. But i'm also using Original paied for Excel :)
However the first thing you write about, is kind of normal: "This table inserted rows into your worksheet. This may cause data below the table to shift down" When you download the tool, it only have around 40 pre-enterd skills, but when you import your skills from the API, then Excel inserts extra rows in the data sheet, for each new skills you have on your character. It happens every time, but its not always Excel says anything about it, so i think the message can be turned off somewhere in excel. But it happens every time you change character or get new skills. Actually i have to run a special macro from time to time, just to remove empty rows from the Data sheet, otherwise the file keep growing in size. So call it a bug or not, but its how Excel works with macros.
But I am glad you found a solution to the problem you had and thanks Aphelion Thunderclap for posting a possible solution :) |

I don't know much about MAC i prefer PC and windows, so i cant really help you much here. The VBA I use in Excel is specific for excel use, so that is most likely why it doesn't work on Mac. I believe it could be possible to make a VAB that would run under Mac, but since i don't have any Appel products then i have no way of testing it. The problem with "The Name C Is Invalid" might relate to the PC drive C:\ maybe the drives are named differently on a Mac? its just a thought.

Hi Mauy Thai
Im glad you like and find the tool useful its good to know others can benefit from the work put in to it. Regarding the extra slots, in the capital sheet. When I build it, I was using Office 2003, back then 2003 couldnGÇÖt handle all the calculations that was needed, for calculating mineral needs for both ships and component. I think it has changed in 2007/2010, so it should be possible to add more Ship slots. However I do not think I will add more than 5 extra ship slots, to get to a total of 10 as I like to keep the sheets simple and not too big. I cannot tell you when I will extend the capital sheet, but I will keep it in mind for some rainy days.

First off and most importantly, amazing spreadsheet. This thing has everything! Thank you for sharing the work that you've put into it.
My question is with the corp mining tab. Is there any way to determine or change the payouts that certain ships will get at the end of the op? As it seems to me now (or I've overlooked it) that the payouts are at a fixed payout percentage based on the ship that is being flown. I'd like to personalize this if possible. Hi Jerrick The payout is calculated on ship used and time spend mining. The % payout for ships is locked, as The hulk is the ship with the best yield in game, therefore using a hulk will give u a 100% time payout. The sheet "ship % payout" is calculated from best fit. So hulk will always be best, I don't see why you would change that. If you think someone has not fitted his ship right, then set him as using a ship with a lower yield. That way he will get a lower payout.

However, i don't see the megac. at 1isk. I'm using Jita market for my import. Maybe you could tell me which region you are using and also you could try to change from just one system to a region, or from one region to another.

It seems that there have been a change to the API. For some reason excel now fails if one or more API keys are empty in the sheet. I don't know if its an error in the API or if ccp decided to make this change or security change to the API system. I will try to find a solution to it as soon as possible, but for now, what you can do is to fill in the same API key to all 3 API slots in the DATA sheet. (Character1 key, Corp key and character2 key) Want to know what-áis best to-ámine or build at which cost? then try out Dedaf's Industrial Tool: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=8074&find=unread |

I found a way to avoid the error from the API and have uploaded a new version, that you can download now.
The problem seems to be that if you have a fail API key or none at all, then before you would just get an empty character list and skill list. but now CCP API simply reject your request, which makes excel fail.
I will try to improve the fix i made to the newly uploaded version, but at least this version, shouldn't give you the errors.

I'm Afraid i can't help you much here, as i do not have Office 2013. But i would find it strange if MS changed the VBA so much from 2010 to 2013 that older applications couldn't run.
When ever this XML Phase error have been posted, it has always turned out to be a problem with Excel. The error have been seen if VBA is not installed during the installation of Excel, or when macros has been disabled in Excel, or if the file is stored in a place like C:\ where there are restrictions to macros. However, i have not had any feedback from anyone using Office 2013, saying that it works. So i simply have no idea if this tool runs under Office 2013.

I think there is a rounding bug in the Capital_Production sheet:
Steps to reproduce: - Set all the "To be build" to 0 - under "Construction Parts", set ML to 100 and "Build Additional" to 94. - the line now displays "Tritanium: 349'733" (which is correct) - however, on top of the sheet, "Production Need" says 32'874'895 Trit, but 94 * 349'733 = 32'874'902
I think you need to to round the mineral amount per component before multiplying by the number of runs. I am using version 15,4,9.
Keep up the good work, really love your sheet! Hi M Kernel I will have to look in to this a bit more, before i can make a change. I do not get the same numbers you are refering to, to me construction parts need 437166 trit. at ML 100 But i do see a rounding issue, however i need to test it with ingame values, to see which rounding calculation is correct. Hi Painstouch Hawk I do not know what could be the reason for the problem you have. Have you tried the solutions described in FAQ 7 & 8 here? It is most likely some problem with your Office installation, all i can advice you to do, is to google the error you get, to see if others have the same issue.
Banjo Blanco wrote:Hello, great work!
Please can you add the option to view isk/hour in mine ore and ice but without refine. Some days is better sell the ore or the ice without refine.
THX To do so, i would have to import price information for all Ore types. I like to keep the tool simple looking, so i will not importing this much data just to do that calculation. The "1 Unite Price" already listed in the ore mining sheet, shows you the price that the ore have calculated on the minerals you get when refining it. So if you can sell the ore for more than the "1 Unite price", then you will make even more money than refining.
Thanks for the feedback though.

Hi Cedub I have corrected the texture colure for the missing material Non-CS Crystals and Ionic Solutions. They were calculated, but was just showing in a wrong colure (same as cell background) now red. I also fixed the notification message for the michi implant, it will now tell you that you need lvl5 cybernetic. It was only a notification error, the bonus of the michi implant was not added if you had lower than lvl5 cybernetic, so it didnt effect the numbers in the mining sheet. All the corrections will be in the next version.

i have tested in slot one and selected, Missiles - Torpedoes & inferno Torpedo If i then type in 10000 in cell E34, then the sheet shows the total needed minerals for the production, and the amount of minerals i'm missing, if any.
Hope that helps you out, otherwise, have a look at the manual

Assault Missile Launcher II will be renamed to Rapid Light Missile Launcher II Standard Missile Launcher II will be renamed to Light Missile Launcher II

Love your tool, been using it for months. Just downloaded your latest version, I was using 15.1.6 before, and now I'm getting an issue where some of the columns aren't wide enough and result in ###### cells.
I know it's an easy enough fix I just obviously can't do anything with the sheet being protected.
Cells that are an issue in particular are the ISK total on materials in stock on T1_Rig_production and Price/30 days on POS production.
On Office on a mac if it makes a difference. Hi Yroc You can still change the columns width even if the sheet is locked. Solution: Open the tool, then go to the top fan called "Page Layout" (4th from left) then put a "V" marker in the View under Headings. then you wil be able to view columns and rows, and then you can change the size. I have removed those Headings to make the sheet look more simple and nice.
Stevez Ftw wrote:WIth latest version Im getting Run-time error '-2147217376 (80041020)': XML PARSE ERROR
any idea why Hi Stevez The problem you are seeing have something to do with an error in the VBA of excel. Please follow FAQ 6 to start with, and if that doesn't help, then check out 4 and 7 as well, that should solve the issues you have with excel.
Gulboy wrote:Hey Dedaf, I'm trying to use your tool, but when I try to update anything, it says: "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method"
I cannot check the server or do anything that requires checking from some other source. I manually checked the prices too, and they seem to be wrong, so I'm sure it didn't update it.
I'm using version 15.8.5 (currently the latest) My computer is Mac OS X version 10.7.5, and I'm using microsoft excel that I've bought from a mac store. I believe it's Excel 2011. What should I do to make it work? (I'm enabling macros when I use the program too) Thanks. Hi Gulboy I have not seen that error before, but it seems to me that you are having issues with the macros. Please make sure you are not saving the file on your C:\ drive, as the rights for macros are restricted there. One other thing.
On the Planet tab, when I choose category and type for Item Slot 4, the additional item needed name shows as "0" and the mineral values under additional items show as #N/A, which then causes a number of other cells to show as #N/A including the minerals needed at the top of the sheet.

May have found one other bug on the planet sheet.
I have SBU's on item slot 1 and it appears that it is not adding recursive computing modules into the price and it is not adding them to the amount needed.
Also would it be possible to add a Invested/Market Value/Profit calculation to the Planet sheet, like the one that is on the T1 Rig sheet? Perhaps base it off whether or not build or own is selected under price for P3's/P4's.
Also can you think of an easy way to import data from an old workbook when you do an update?
I'm on a mac so sadly, I enter everything manually.
Shopping list sounds very handy! HI Yroc Thanks, i have found the bug regarding the recursive computing modules and will upload a new version soon. I will thinking of a way to implement the investment and market value system to the the PI tool, as you describe. About the workbook, then i do not have any knowledge of that system, so i wont be able to make VBA for it im afraid.

Thanks! Hi Pu Pu Platter Sorry i havent been very clear about the asset change. But from release 15.8.8 you have been able to import your station asset. To do so you will need to add AssetList right to your character API key. You need to changed the APIkey to also include the asset, then your in stock fields will automatically update, depending on which station you have selected en the T2 item sheet. so no more manual work.

Just need to easily see what ones I am missing from my collection.
Regards Azz Hi Azz No i cant see any easy way to export that, as you dont get any names from the API. You get just typeID's and then you have to convert it to names. So it will be pretty intense work, and still you need to do a lot of manual work.
SCORPIO KIRK wrote:So I like the concept of the shopping list, this something I painfully always add to new version of the spreadsheet, is there a way that you can add additional sheets that can get counted in this function. For example, for T2 Items, i have 7 pages (3 items per page) in my copy of the spreadsheet. When I tested duplicating the default page, it did not get reflected in the shopping list. Is there a more appropriate way of adding pages?
Scorpio I'm afraid it is not so easy as just copy paste. But im happy you think so, as this is how i want my tool to be and look. Even if the shopping list look simple it is pretty complicated calculations behind it. So to add more sheets to the list, would mean to reconfigure the tool to include that sheet as well. Id suggest you make a file for each of the 7pages T2 item tool, including the shopping list and Data sheet, then you should get some fairly good lists.
Mandj wrote:This looks like an excellent tool, however, having some trouble setting up the API and was wondering if I could get some help (note - excel n00b). I go to the API page on the CCP site and generate new API. Following the FAQ on the OP's webpage, it says exclude CharacterInfo, CharacterSheet, Locations & AssetList and I do so. Press generate for API. I then start the tool, go to the data page, input the Apikey, KeyID, from the API I just made, and then manually type in my character name (Mandj, just like it says here). Press update skills, result: Popup window comes up saying Microsoft visual basic, says Run-time error '13': Type mismatch.
So I think I'm doing something wrong but can't tell what it is, could someone help me out please? It seems to pull market data correctly so idk what I'm doing. Hi Mandj I dont believe i have seen that specific runtime error before. To try and help you, I would need some more info, like version of Excel and so on. It would also be good if I could get a copy of the file with the API and runtime error, so i could try it out myself. You could also try to read FAQ 6, 7 & 8 here, to see if that solves the problem for you? If not, then please contact me in game, then we can try to see what we can find.

However, when I enter the ME for the component BPOs and go to my shopping cart it lists both the actual components and the moon materials that are used to produce said components. Any way I can change that so it just lists the moon materials?
Edit: Also, can you choose what materials you manufacture (as in buy or build)?
Cheers! Hi Giltorias as of right now, it is not possible to prevent items from being listed in the shopping list. The tool has only just been build, so there are plenty of room for improvement. And what you are asking is a nice improvement i think. I will see if i can find a nice way to give you the option to choose which items are listed in the shopping list.

Any help you can offer is appreciated, thanks! Im afraid it is the Mac, i have not had anyone using a mac, saying that it works. There seem to be some difference in the way the Microsoft VBA works on a Mac and PC. I do not have any Mac products myself so i can not try it out.

Can you choose what materials you manufacture and what materials you buy when constructing t2 items/ships? For example if I build fusion reactors (so need raw mats and usually lower production costs) whilst buying R.A.M (more expensive but takes a while to make)?
No, as it is now, there are no way to select if you buy or produce the components yourself. The sheet expect that when doing T2 ship production, then you also build all the components yourself.

cheers mate Hi Len Ross At the moment there is a limit of 50 personal & 50corp hangars (Office & POS), so if you have asset allover in space in more than 50 stations, then you should think about cleaning up a bit.
But the problem about the Office and POS hangars is a bit strange to me, unless, you again have more than 50? But it would be strange if the first 50 hangars was all POS hangars. So here i believe there is a bug in the tool. I have only tested API keys with 2 Office hangars and another key with 2 POS hangars +1 Office hangar, in those two cases the Office hangars showed up just fine. But for me to really investigate this problem, then i would need a copy of your tool with the API? but im sure a lot of people would advice you against that. But feel free to contact me in game, then we can try to find a solution to this problem.
Sorry about the problem you guys have with the office and macros, and sorry i dont have much help to offer you. You are all very welcome to contact me ingame, then we can try to see if we can find a solution. It could be some way you are using the tool that i never thought of. So finding the bugs could help out alot of your other fellow eve pilots.
Thanks again everyone for the feedback.

i would convert it myself but my old laptop times out and cant handle it :/ If only it was so easy, but the calculations used in this tool are so specialized to Excel, that I doubt it can just be converted. I think it needs to be made specifically for Open Office and i have no plans of maintaining 2 different tools. Yes, Office 2013 have a bug, when it comes to password protected sheets.
i do not have 2013 myself, but from what I have been reading on different forums, then it is a clear bug in 2013. I tried to make a correction to my tool, to try a get around this bug, but i guess it didnt have any effect?
From what I undestand, then if you are using 2013, then avoid using the Restore All funktion in the Data sheet, go to each tool and restore them one by one. Not sure if it will help, but try it out and let me know if it changes anything. Thank you very much Jack Hatered, your feed back is very much appreciated!
To start with your first suggestions, regarding the production of capital components using multiple Blueprints. I have been asked this before, but i don't see an simple or easy usable way to show this, as I want to keep my tool simple and clean looking. But it is a long time since I have been building capitals myself, and i never used more than one of each blueprint, so i dont see the big problem in dividing "missing components" by 2 or 3? But i will think about it and see if i can come up with a good solution. You are also welcome to contact me in game, to try and convince me about the idea.
Now regarding the sales tax and brokers fee. This is also something i have been asked before, but i never thought it was a factor i would spend time implementing, as the eve-central prices aren't precise enough, so the small factory cost for t1 item or ships is hardly notable. But, when it comes to capital, then it actually means millions, but i never thought of that till your post. So I am now working on adding the Broker's Fee and Sales Tax, to the capital production sheet. so it should be in the next version i upload.
When working on adding the fee and tax as you suggested, I got to thinking that the rent of the "factory slot" also might have a big impact on building capitals. So at the moment, I am also working on adding the productivity level and factory rent price to the capital production tool.
Again, thanks a lot for your very useful feedback, and i hope you will like the next update.

Situation behind this request:
I am trying to stay as accurate on my finances as possible, trying to determine if a build is profitable enough or not, and while your tool does an amazing job of keeping the mineral and component prices in line, it ignores taxes / fees completely ( as far as I can tell, PLEASE correct me if im wrong) I would love to have an input section where I can say " My broker fees are 0.50%, my contract fee is 0.85% and my deposit is 10,000,000 ISK) and it would calculate all that into the overall profitability of the ship. this way I can keep a more accurate tracking of my finances with one tool instead of manually writing it down.

Ninde Surion wrote:Hi Dedaf,
This is an absolutely fantastic tool and thank you for all your efforts and making it accessible. It's making to everyone.
A few requests on wish lists because I'm cheeky.....
First i just want to make it clear that this sheet does not work in openOffice, as i see some of your questions sounds like you are unable to use the keys.
1) Would it be possible to also include the 5% and 10% ore variants as well? A. Im guessing you are talking about the Mining sheet? use the dropdown menu, there you will find all the ingame ore.
2) Would it possible for it to take what you have from your assets list of your API key rather than having to manually enter them? B. Again I'm guessing you are talking about the Mining sheet? I guess it could be done, but i would need to change the tool completely and i like to keep the tool nice and simple. Another problem is that the API does not update so fast, sometime up to 6 hours. So you woulnt get a very good mining result.
3) I couldn't find Drone Damage Amplifier I in the blue print list for T1 Production? Sometimes the categories make it easy to find blue prints other times you're hunting around trying to find them would be be possible to be able to type them in as well as pick them from the look up lists? C. The Drone Damage Amplifier seems to be missing or have been renamed. I will make sure you can finde it under Drones - > Drone Upgrades. In the next version. Its a good idea to allow you to type the name yourself, I will make sure you can do that in the next version. Thanks
4) For the productions sales costs is it possible to take into account sales tax and brokers fees? Or if not put a little statement at the top of pages where they are not taken into account. Especially if you're adding them for Capital etc? D. This is already an option for Capital and Jump freighters from Version16.2
5) Is it possible to have a blueprint tab for those industrialist who are trying to make money from reaching and copying blue prints to sell. So you can keep track of the cost of the BPO, the costs of copying, and the research costs against the cost of selling the BPC's. If not can you increase the number of blueprints you can keep in the lists for the production tabs? As if you have more than say 20 T1 productions BPO's it is pain to keep track of them separately etc. E. I do not have this kind of tool yet, but i will think about it, and who knows maybe i will add it sometime in the future. Thanks
6) Is it possible to fill in mineral amounts and planetary goods etc held form the assets list of the API key? F. Not sure which tool you are referring to?
7) Would it be possible to have a tab which lists all your assets from the assets list and gives you what the reprocessed minerals would be and what the current avg isk price for selling the assets or reprocessing? As to help with the decision about what to do with loot but if you operate in high sec mega is in limited supply so know what to reprocess for that mineral vs buying could be quite valuable. G. not sure how useful this would be compared to the time i would have to spend building it :) but thanks for submitting your ideas.
8) Final question I've been using 16.1. I've down loaded the latest version: 16.2.1a how can I import my data from one to the other without having to manually re-enter it? H. This is what makes me think you are not using Excel. As you have backup and restore keys in all the production tools. However it could be that you haven't selected the right drive to save the backup files, or to restore from? So please check in the Data sheet, that you have typed in the right directory, where your backup files are located.
I have added my answers to your questions above, with the letters A to H, i hope that help you.

Hi Dancin Queen I don't think there is a bug or that you are doing anything wrong. From all the test that I have done, I have never ever had the tool select more than 4 different Blueprint for the compression. However it does not mean that using 4 different blueprints will give you a more optimal compression. Infact what i have found is that 1 or max 2 different blueprints can give you a very high compression with a very low loss of minerals. The calculations behind the tool compression and the way it chooses the best blueprint, is a bit complex to explain. I am currently working on a manual, to try and explain how to optimize the compression.
I haven't looking in to how Sinqlaison got to the amount and type of BP, that he is using, but the numbers a pretty fixed in his examples, like station, skills, ME and minerals needed. My tool is not fixed to any specific station refining, BP ME, production skill, refining skill or amount of minerals needed/missing, therefore you will know exactly how much you need with the selected character.
Here is an example for you to try with the Aron ME3. In my list of blueprint i have the following (all at ME100 or more) Bastion Module I Multifrequency XL Infrared XL Fusion XL Inferno Citadel Torpedo 800mm Repeating Artillery I 1400mm Howitzer Artillery I
To make it more clear what the tool does, i choose a transport ship with 39.000m3 (more efficient would be freighter)
The outcome from this is the following:
Quote:To be build and hauled: 800mm Repeating Artillery I *16.106 Infrared XL *15.831 Multifrequency XL *2.511
11 hauls out 18hauls back (total hauls 56)
9,4Bill in excess minerals, after producing the Aron. -18mill in loss of minerals, when refining the items. That is not really optimal, as you need to move almost 50% more minerals than you need for the production, and need to do a lot more hauls back, afterwards.
So how to optimize this.
In the column F7-F13 you have the option to select or deselect each mineral type. For the given example above you should de-select the compression of Nocx and Zyd.
This will bring you down to:
Quote:To be build and hauled: 800mm Repeating Artillery I *16.106 Multifrequency XL *271 Nocx *625.108 Zyd. *607.732
11 hauls out 13 hauls back (total hauls 46)
2,8Bill in excess minerals, after producing the Aron. (6,6Bill less than before) -8,9mill in loss of minerals, when refining the items. (9,1M less than before)
You could also choose not to us the 800mm Repeating Artillery I, but use the 1400mm Howitzer Artillery I instead. On each Blueprint, you have a check box, to select or de-select the blueprint from being used for compression.
now using the 1400mm Howitzer Artillery I and again removing the marker from the mineral Nocx and Zyd, will give you the following outcome:
Quote:To be build and hauled: 1400mm Howitzer Artillery I *9.661 Infrared XL *3.548 Nocx *315.114 Zyd. *468.973
13 hauls out 16 hauls back (total hauls 56)
2,1Bill in excess minerals, after producing the Aron. (7,3Bill less than at first) -7,5mill in loss of minerals, when refining the items. (10,5M less than at first)
Personally i like to use the Bastion Module I, as I found, it gives a more exact mineral amount after reprocessing, but you might need a few more hauls out, but often a lot less hauls back.
In this example i choose not to compress Mex, nocx & zyd
Quote:To be build and hauled: Bastion Module I*2829 Multifrequency XL *89 Inferno Citadel Torpedo *1131 Mex. *3.091.191 Nocx. *1.177.314 Zyd. *134.812
16 hauls out 11 hauls back (total hauls 52)
230Mill in excess minerals, after producing the Aron. (9,1Bill less than at first) -5,2mill in loss of minerals, when refining the items. (12,8M less than at first)
one thing my example above does not take in to account is the price of fuel for jump freighter, this can be a big factor if you need to do a lot of hauls.
I hope this makes the thoughts behind the tool a bit more clear? If not, then you are always welcome to contact me in-game, also keep an eye out for an update of the manual, as the next version will have a guide for the compression tool.

How do I get the production tabs to recognize my corporation's assets to report the materials in stock? In the production tool you are using, under 'asset' you select the corp hangar or office (default Character is selected) then you can choose the specific division or All divisions in that office or hangar.

HI Creaming Soda If i understand you right, then you want to build T2 components. I know it might not seem logic, but to build T2 components you need to use the T2 Ship production sheet. In the button of the tool you can manually select which T2 component you want to build. The reason why its in the T2 Ship and not in the T2 item, as would seem more logic, is because i build the T2 ship sheet first. So when i build the T2 item tool, i didnt want to have double production of components, thats why the T2 components in the Item tool is automatically selected, depending on the T2 Items you want to build.
So in short, you need to go to T2 Ship and scroll down, in order to build T2 component. Want to know what is best to mine or build at which cost? then try out Dedaf's Industrial Tool http://dedafsindustrialtool.blogspot.dk/

Haruki Tekitsu wrote:First I want to say great job our Industrial efforts are coming in bounds due to your tool.
I have a similar problem as was mentioned here before with the API locations feed. In previous versions I have had the api keys that I have set for dedaf tool select the stations from a drop down menu. In version 1646 I have all stations and nothing else. Now if I add an alt toon to the sheet, it gives me a list of stations that I have never visited let alone have things stored. If I swap my alt to slot 2 it lists all the strange stations, If I swap my alt to slot 1 it does the same. My main never shows anything other than all stations. I've put my main in slot 1 and 2 alone, put it in slot 1 and 2 at the same time, changed slots with alts, used various keys. Nothing.
I have tried a new api key with everything selected. same effect my main doesn't show the list. I tried an api key with only the settings on the instructions, same again. I dug into my downloads and found version 1601 inputted the key and all was fine with both new and old keys. Alts and main show lists with no strange systems showing up.
At the moment I have to use 1601 I know this will soon be way outdated, I'd hate to loose the tool.
Thank you for all the tests you have done a good description, i will look in to it and see if i can get the same problem, as for me is shows all my stations and asset. What could be a great help is if i could borrow one of your keys, to see if i can find out why it works for me and not you. If i could borrow a key from you then please send it as in game mail.
Thanks

However, i have seen that some API keys lock up, so no matter what you change, the key wont activate the new changes. So try to generate a completly new key and configure it as described in FAQ2 and if you need corp asset aswell, then also check out FAQ4 & 5.

Thanks Hi Thorrieu I believe your problem is the macro security setting in MS office. try to read FAQ 6 to see if that can solve your problem. There's dropdowns on the t1 Production Sheet to adjust station, but there's only "all" or blank, and selecting blank and updating doesn't help. I feel like I'm probably blind. Hi Aerys i believe your problem is because you have not setup your character API key for including asset. Please see FAQ 2, 4 or 5, depending on which asset you want to import to the tool.

H3llHound wrote:So, I have to bother you again :) The calculations done with T2 components are incorrect.
I tested it with a few components but I will just give one below; I used the 'Build Additional' function on the components in the T2 Ships sheet. The version is 16,6,8.
ME 10 with a 3% Outpost. I want to build 20,000 Crystalline Carbonide Armor Plates.
Your sheet shows: 760k CC and 200k Sylramic Fibers What It shows ingame: Crystalline Carbonide768,240, Sylramic Fibers192,060
The base values are correct I checked so my guess is the material modifier isnt applied correctly. I guess you first calculate the base materials with the material modifier and then multiply with the buildruns. (Basevalue x Modifier) x Runs.
The game uses this formula: CEILING ((Basevalue x Modifier x Runs) ,1), the big difference is the number rounding only happens at the end.
And can you tell me a good way to export the Bp requirements from the datadump? :) Hi H3llHound This should now be corrected in the new version 16.7.3 thanks for helping making the tool better. Matcha Mosburger wrote:Very nice tool, for some reason excel is much more comforting to work with than other tools.
Couple questions:
1) I suspect it's an API thing on CCP (I'm not very good with the API limitations) but can/will the tool be able to pull inv from containers? So I can keep my stuff sorted but still see it all in your tool.
2) Maybe I'm doing it wrong - but the production tabs seem to pull my mineral quantities from my imv, but they don't pull any other items (T2, PI products etc) am I doing it wrong, or are these to be manually entered only on the Data tab?
3) Since all T2 invention produce BPC with the same ME/TE regardless of parent BPO, will you adjust that section to auto populate the standard level before decryptor? So dont have to manually change each one every time.
Thanks for the fun! I think this will help my T2 production a lot.
P.s. The T2 ship production tab, the pull down menu for ship selection is missing Prospect HI Matcha ill see if i can answer all your questions.
1) It is as you suspect, that the api system does not list the item within containers. So you are not doing anything wrong, it is just how the ststem works.
2) I have tested my t2 material, and they are all listed, however you mention PI material also. PI material are used on planets and again, the API system does not work with material on planets. Therefore the fields in the PI tool are mostly manual.
3) im not doing invention myself, so i wasnt aware that they input ME/TE had no effect anymore.
4) regarding the Prospect, you will find it in the T2 Ship Production tool, under mining ships.
I hope this helps you out.

Maybe I'm not seeing it, but do you involve/show the 'time to build' anywhere? With the increased build time for many mods, it would be a very nice thing to have to sort out when you need to build base/middle components. Hi Stabhore thanks for the feedback, Im glad you like the tool. -I can't tell you why it wont work in OpenOffice now if it did before as i haven't really change any vital part for the previous version to this. But as the tool is build 100% for MS office, then I don't think there is much to do about it. -Mobile Large Warp Disruptor I, needs planet material, so you will find the T1 version under the Planet interaction Tool. -I am working on added the factory cost to all the tools, but it is taking longer than i expected.
