I'd like to be able to send in a personnel carrier (which works like a drone) and attachs itself to a ship without shields left. It carries a certain number of marines. Then the enemy pilot is forced to eject and will be unable to board the ship again. The proper defense is having shield, shooting the drone (make it take like 30 seconds to take the ship over), or having some kind of mid-slot or low-slot Internal defense system which defeats the marines.
Any thoughts? -------

Yea, screw armour tanking, might as well make it useless. ------------------------------------------

You would have to make sure your crew includes marines to repel borders. This would also allow for mods such as BASIC DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS, DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS I, DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS II, and the obligatory named mods of the same type. Plug them into low-power slots and they provide gas, small interior anti-personnel turrets, force-fields, you name it.
Personally, I believe the crew should be much more of a factor in this game. I can easily see a crew mod screen exactly like the ship-mod-fitting screen that would allow you to plug in 1) officers 2) medical personnel 3) marines 4) engineers 5) different quality crew of all types etc etc.

This could work but only if the ship was down to structure not armor. Armor tanking is a very valuable tactic in this game espcualy for ammar ships.

I suppose structure would work as well. So say whenever armor is lower than 5% the process of boarding could be initiated. -------

id love the idea of capturing and boarding an enemy ship to be in this game. Ys, take Marines or Security personel as an item in your cargo bay. These can be used to either fight off boarders, or to capture the other ship.
I think u should then be able to salvage the ship, have a tug tow it back..refit and reuse. Make the captue of NPC ships an item. Grap a Sanshas ship say, board secure and tow. The if they had reverse eng in the game..over the long term strip it down and learnn how to fly em. Brings more ships and options for players to fly.
On a similar note its about time bigger ships had crew to hire, train, pay and feed. Would make it a lil more realistic.

Ahh HOMEWORLD2, but sheilds regen after a while... Maybe just ur ship has to be within 1000m of other ship, then u can drop em on or sumtin. That way ship has to kill yas or sumtin.
