I can understand occasional lag. However, Jita and the surrounding systems are a mess and have been a mess for years. You are choosing not to fix that issue.
It took me 30 minutes, but I logged into my account, got in my crow, bought a clone, and got out of jita. A few hours later I was a corpse...and oddly enough...not cloned? Thats pretty lame, lost 256k skill points in frigate V, a week of training. Not to worry, the GM will acknowledge the lag and fix the issue. A day later, he told me to shaft myself.
Your out $30 a month.

what you mean with "youre not to choose to fix the issue"?
last time i heard its because "everyone" goes there, of course that puts a strain on the node, even if jita is on a single node.
but hey, youre helping the cause now, 2 less in Jita = less lag
can i have your remainings? :)

It's only Saturday, you can't complain about Jita until tomorrow, dammit.
Besides, if you want to pay $30 a month to sit in the laggiest system in the game that's your call.

Until EVE can support every single player in same system with drones out and ddd's going off without lag, Jita wont be fixed.
And afaik the technology that this game uses is not able to handle that(doubt any can). |

I am not a full time employee of CCP nor have I had numerous meetings to discuss the 'Jita Problem', but it only takes a few minutes to come up with ideas of how to reduce traffic in the area without CCP spending any money on new hardware.
They could add fees to use the warp gates that make it possible to enter Jita. They could add a tax to all transactions that occur in Jita. They could add a occupation fee that occurs when you stay in Jita. The occupation fee could occur randomly so people wouldn't be able to beat the system and it could occur once a day or several times a day and it would occur weather you are afk or not.
But like I said, I haven't worked on this problem as a full-time CCP employee. I guess I have thought about it for 5 or 10 minutes.

Something they could do is to make sure there isn't ANY agent in Jita at all for doing missions and that all surrounding systems never send someone to Jita to run a mission there.
Adding fees/tax won't be an option really. And changing the game by adding Timers, max 30 min in Jita or something like that would be bad also, can't force people to leave Jita while being camped in by wartargets or militia warfare stuff.

when someone makes 100mil/hour in trade in jita and he/she will have to pay say extra 10%, that is nothing for him/her. just smaller profit which he/she will add the cost in advance in the price to cover up the loss. if you set a fixed taxation you will just move the small sellers out of there but not the big fishes. the market will find its way out of the problem.
possible answer is to move all the agents out of there, set entrance fee just for jita (not fair though), or try to create 4 main shoping systems in teh 4 corners of EVE so jita will not be the main one.

Pardon me for sounding like a smart ass when I say this, but taxes and fees to use Jita are already in place and it works almost exactly as you discribe above.
The tax is called "lag" and you pay for it with your own time. Players in jita pay this "tax and fee" everyday and it still doesn't put off 600+ people at any given time.
Jita and it's lag is just a fact of the game. Right now it implodes when we reach the 700+ mark on Sundays. Still people go there. If CCP ever "fixes" Jita so we don't have lag with 700 people.. 1400 people will be there 23/7 and it will start to be laggy again and people will complain (but oddly enough will still go there)
There is no easy fix for Jita by CCP, sooner people except that the better. The players are the only people that can really fix Jita.
- Jita is like walmart, we all hate the dang place cus of all the people and lines, yet we all shop there 3 days a week anyway. -

And the overweight people. There are always lots of overweight people shopping in WalMart. And this is quite puzzling because the place is so large, you figured that a few would loose some weight by simply walking up and down all of the isles.

What do you have against overweight people exactly?

The problem is also the fact that forcing people out of Jita and making it harder to get in will only really help the creation of a new Jita somewhere else. ___________________________________

Fixing a game by telling people "don't do that, even though it's possible" is about one of the worst excuses I've ever seen - and EVERY SINGLE "Jita sucks, I'm leaving" thread ends in the same useless rabble, "don't go to jita!".
None of you have anything worthwhile to contribute to the problem, so don't bother filling these threads up with stupid "can i has your cheesburgers" garbage. Perhaps instead realize that *IF* the game lets you go in to jita, and *IF* the game starts slowing down so much that it's not playable because of it, then there is a problem with the game. Whether or not CCP can fix it or not is another story - I'm sure they're OVERLY aware of the problem to the point of not wanting to hear about it any more, but if you don't have something useful to contribute, enough is enough.
Now, OP - yes Jita is a lagfest, and yes CCP is aware of it and they are working on developing many things - hopefully some of it fixes Jita to some degree (or completely). However, your story simply doesn't mesh. I have been to Jita many times, and many times I have sat here waiting quite a while to get out of dock, but I have never seen the game be so out of sync that what you describe would/could happen. If the GMs checked the logs and it showed that you did in fact purchase a clone before you left jita then I'm sure they would have fixed you up - but something tells me there's a bit of the story missing and you're just ****ed that you didn't upgrade your clone in time to save your SP.
