It's mainly for PvP and I'm going for a Vexor and Myrmidon(later on) droneship. I'm not sure what to put on it as weapons though.
Light hybrid turrets are good for frigates, destoryers and only use a little bit of PG/CPU which will be good. Medium are a lot better against Crusiers and BC but use a lot of PG/CPU.
If I go for light turrets will drones beable to take on bigger ships?
What do you guys think would be best?

Generally, medium-sized ships will use medium guns. So in this case you'd want to specialize in medium guns.
However, I don't recommend you do that just yet. There are so many support skills and other gunnery skills that will help you far more than any weapon specialization will.

Medium Blasters. Although it doesn't get a turret bonus, the Myrmidon has plenty of mid-slots to fit a web to help you hit smaller targets. Anyway, with 150m3 drone space, you can easily carry 10 Hammerhead medium drones and 10 Hobgoblin or Warrior Light drones, so you have plenty of spares should any be destroyed. These drones should be able to kill any frigates and destroyers you encounter, should you be unable to hit them with your blasters.

Yes and no. The drones will be able to hit them, but without medium turrets, you may not be able to deal enough DPS to take down these ships, whereas medium drones should be able to destroy most frigates. --- My Mod autograph collection. Remember to fit towards your bonuses. The Myrm doesn't get a bonus to any turrets, so any turret type (hybrid, projectile, laser) will provide the same "relative" (assuming all things being equal) DPS. You also get a bonus to armor repping. Armor repping requires capacitor. For this reason, you see a lot of Myrm fits using projectiles since they don't use up any cap, freeing up more for your double rep tank (if you so choose to use one).
In the end, how you fit your ship is your decision, and I don't fly gallente, so don't take my word as worth anything. Just saying...

Quite so, adding to that, the fitting requirements for projectiles are nice and low so that may help you with your setup. They don't do the same damage as hybrids though.

I'm already trained for hybrid so I'll stick with that for now at least.
The Vexor has a 5% bonus to medium hybrid turrets. So I guess I go with medium then?

Yes, thing is that there's other options as well. Nos/Neuts work well for a droneboat. It's a difference in tactics, one is to simply out-dps them the other is to suffocate them.
Both work but not neccesarily in all situations. For instance against passive (shield/armor) tanked ships using a nos/neut combo will give you nothing and you'd be much better off with more dps while against active tanked ships or ships wich use cap to do their DPS (hybrids and lasers) the suffocate tactic works quite well.
Ofcourse the Myrm has so many high slots it'd be a crime to not also put in a few guns but on a Vexor for PVP a passive tanked neut/nos setup is nasty. It's also easier on the SP :)

When it comes to missile weapons, there's the Assault Missile Launcher which goes on a cruiser (or a BC) but fires frigate-scale missiles (very rapidly).
If there is an equivalent turret hardpoint weapon, the OP might want to go for something like that on his drone cruiser (or drone BC). But is there?

Nope. All turrets use the relevant sized ammo. |

There's the various dual weapons, like dual 150mm, which serve the same basic function. They use medium-sized ammo, but function like anti-frig weapons.
They're not exactly the same, but close. They're not necessarily as good as assaults, but have a place. |
