about running through microsoft's offices with a shotgun???
Sigh. No, I'd never do it. I'd wind up killing some secretary who didn't have a darn thing to do with this mess.
Ahhh, Vista. I think Satan was the programmer for it. I finally get it working right, and what do I do???
Installed Service Pack 1. Oh joy.
/wrist
Now I have no audio. Audio device is there, drivers are up to date, but vista is no longer seeing it. So I google microsoft's tech support website for a solution. Result= a billion threads ( no seriously, like 200k threads on error code 10). I have no idea how to assign drive letters to my usb ports ( the only solution I haven't tried). Sigh, guess I'll call the manufacterer in the morning and see if they have a fix. Microsft says they're working on a solution that should be out in a couple months.....
This thread has no point, I just felt like ranting:)
Now to go kill something, but without the explody sounds.....

A shotgun would be really ineffective, try an AK or m16...
Its about how many people you can bring down before the cops get there and its hard if you have to pump.
However this is null and void if you have a pancor jackhammer

Explosives are the answer. Just blow the building.

Make it into an epic mind game giving them an illusion of hope only to end it despite the results with the boom.

Well then you need to cut all the phonelines and jam their cellphones then because they will call the police.
And if that happens some idiot would just ensure all the rest die because hes"afraid". |

Better yet reroute cell signals, and phone lines to a few accomplices (for going up against MS volunteers would be plenty eh?) that would act as emergency center personnel. |

This would work and instead of explosives you setup a more elaborate setup(ie if somebody does something idiot like trying to leave via a window everybody doesnt get owned, only he does).
Actually im beginning to like this idea.

Edited by: pwnedgato on 30/06/2008 03:51:19 Explosives should still be used but perhaps place smaller bits in pieces of furniture. And you can watch the building with a rifle from afar.

What type of rifle? A barrett would cut people in half so it would be very gory and awesome, but not many people own this weapon so you might get caught and they would die faster.
Or a sniper rifle such as an m24 would lack gore, but would give you the ability to possibly silence it and or put the receiver in a huge amount of pain.

Edited by: pwnedgato on 30/06/2008 04:00:48 I was thinking smaller, a Ruger M77 bolt action chambered for the .375 H&H(definitely silencer friendly). Imagine watching your office mate try to exit via window then suddenly stops and just slumps down to the ground, and when you lean out and check on him you find the back of his head is gone. |

On the other hand a barrett can cut the guy in half, which would remove any hope they might have of being able to escape via that door.
But then again you can silence a barrett. |

You really need to run trip wires all around the office and set them up to multiple layers of bombs. That way the first guy or two who tries to run will blown apart, the rest will fear running, and emergency troops won't be able to get in untill they can find a hellicopter to drop them in. Would be hard to do, but fun to watch.
Once this is set up bringing in a shotgun just has this tremendous psychological effect. I mean anyone that gets hit with a good shotgun blast will be shredded.
or you can go the exact opposite. Rig the office with many small bombs so that slightly disturbing anything would result in a massive blast destroying everything in the room. Then use the rifle to shoot anyone that tries to run. Would be a whole lot easier to get caught though. |

Never install a service pack unless windows update recommends it to you. Also, you may want to consider posting your specs and asking for help, then blow up the building once you resolve the problem. After all, if the MS building is destroyed and the company in chaos, how would you get the problem fixed? |

Why not just reformat?
A new HDD is maybe $100, so get yourself a cheapo 400gb thing and dump the stuff you want to keep on it.

well somewhere inbetween the "would you eat human meat", the "most horrificly awesome deaths ever", "the worst torture", and a few other threads I realized I have no soul. No point in hiding it. Might as well embrace it. |

Because, Microsoft's wonder program, which they spent 7 years developing, rapes your computer and demands that you like it. It also give you no other Microsoft alternatives (XP got the ax).
Reformatting shouldn't be necessary, the damn OS should actually WORK after 7 years of development. I just can't see how the developers looked at Vista, and said "Yup, it's ready".
Edit: /hugs my XP CD. |

Well that depends on your OS, but part of the crap those Creative drivers are is definitely intentional. A while back (3 months ago or so) Creative threatened to sue someone who had made a third-party modified driver for the X-Fi audio card to allow its advanced functions to work properly under Vista. (specifically the Alchemy stuff) The fact that all these functions didn't work with Vista turned out to be intentional, which caused a forum uproar at creative.com to say the least.
