1-You don't point your weapon at someone you don't intend to kill 2-Blanks don't look like live rounds, and besides, you need an attachement at the end of your gun for blanks to works (Blank Firing Accessory or BFA for short... at least you need one on M16/C7 family of rifles, maybe not on FAMAS). 3-You'd think he would have stopped firing after the first few people got shot... not after 17.
The lack of a BFA is also bothering me... |

It's a good job, considering the US probably already has the worst record in the world for friendly fire.
Any force has Blue on Blue incidents, before also it would need to take into condsideration if they are weapons tight or weapons free (weapons tight only fire on verfied enemy targets, weapons free unknown/enemy targets are fired at).
But if you can't take the joke you should not have joined...<yes yes Forces humor is black as it gets>
Oh and if you want know a really crap rifle the british forces SA80....what a pile of total crap... ========= "I am not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why can`t we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem fix its self |

Which one? I totally agree the SA80A1 was crap! Tho when the upgraded version came Out I loved it!!! Tho I never been into desert action with it but mainly on excersices and ranges but I sure liked it. Tho again the Regiment I was in we didn't have much chance in trying different weapons!
It was the SA80A1...Don't know how many times the mag would drop out, once had the mag come apart (the UK built ones with the helpful button on the bottom to take it apart, went prone "SPANG" rounds all over the shop), magizine relase catch falling off...losing zero all the fecking time etc. During training we never did fire with the bayonet attached (tended to fly off apparently), Snapped the bayonet during bayonet drill (look on the armours face was Ummm intresting)...
fecking pile of unmitagted steaming ****... ========= "I am not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why can`t we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem fix its self |

I have only six letters for you.
FN-FAL.
(I know a lot of older military types who have similar... opinions on the SA80A1 after using the FAL...)
Whell considering what the SA80A1 replaced...which was basicly a semi auto FN-FAL, But they payed H&K for fixing the SA80 they could have sprung for the G36 (unproven in combat, but working better than the SA80).
So many good weapons to pick from and the SA80 is what they came up with, sigh... ========= "I am not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why can`t we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem fix its self |

Originally by: Surfin's PlunderBunny Hey, we been stuck with the M16 since 'Nam... and while it has become a reliable weapon (if cleaned obsessively) we need something better... bring back the M14!!!!
Even that would have been better than the SA80A1 ========= "I am not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why can`t we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem fix its self |
