I've got a DG Control Tower Medium which i got a few labs in. But as for defenses what would you guys recommend me to buy? I came to think of the ECM batteries, and some long ranged missile launchers but that's it. Anything else i could put up in order too make my tower non-attractive too wardec to attack, but instead find a new corporation to mess with?
And any good ideas how i should place all the batteries? Somebody set up us the bomb |

should I also place some Warp jammers and webs? And are Sensor Dampening Arrays worth it in high-sec?
And as for weapon, long range should be best? So should I go only for **** loads of Cruise batteries and spread them around the bubble? Or should I invest in some Torpedo batteries aswell?
This is what i've come up with but not sure if it's the right way to do it. Also are Dampening arrays worth it? |

ECM batteries lock very slow but they are very good with pos gunners.
For medium tower 2 hardeners, 8x ECM and 4x dampener + 2...3 warp scrams should do fine for e-war section. Fill the rest of grid with cruise launchers and add perhaps 4 torp ones also in the mix if you feel like it. Put 2 small autocannons also at opposite sides of tower, to nail small fast stuff (or web).
Anchor enough guns (not online) to fill the entire grid of your pos (for after reinforced battle) and keep extra set of those guns (should attackers disable the anchored ones) in nearby station also.
When wardec arrives offline labs and online all defences. If you see that there is good propability that your tower will be reinforced during the arriving wardec unachor labs and evacuate them to local station. Note however that this will cansel all jobs in progress. |

Cool thanks for the help. Also if someone that is hungry too kill a POS in high-sec that kind of defense would most likely scare them of and try find a new victim instead? |

In my opinion pos defenses are just a waste of fuel and ISK. A fleet that is strong enought to break the tank of a pos shouldn't have any trouble taking out the defense. And a single ship cannot break the pos shield anyway.
If you get blackmailed your only options are eather pay or move somwhere else. |

POS defences alone, even with full contingent of POS gunners does not prevent POS destruction. They are there to give advantage to defending gang. Any POS without ships to come to it's defence will die to attackers who know what they are doing and have ability to field approx 10 battleships.
Having good defences in place however can discourage attack from entities just looking for easy gank on POS. It is one thing to shoot unarmed and unhardened tower afk for half a day with 3 battleships and whole another ballpark if it's hardened and you have actually to tank something while shooting and will get jammed or damped every now and then.

Well I've seen a large Pos in high-sec repulse a Bs fleet,but they were using a crapload of med arty and autocannon batteries and had about 10 pos gunners.Also there were using teamspeak to jam+web one bs then concentrate all fire on to it,being targetted by 15 med autocannon batteries breaks any tank,but both the pos and the guns were all faction stuff.
