...you..pirate? *looks up* sky seems firmly in place *checks date* hmm past april...A-War will join FW soon (gallente), just waiting for the standings to average out to .5 :)
There is lots of things to pirate in/around tama though it's far better to just join a side tbh, we'll probably be doing 0.0 piracy and FW in empire maintaining acceptable sec stat to get to the blobs faster.
Believe I still owe you a fight too, imagine how much simpler that would be if we were in the same corp *whistles innocently*
Poke me on Jonny 101 if you're interested in burning heathens alongside my navypoc, and god help the carebears if you're going flasher. |

Pirating is terrible in FW areas.
Unless you like pirating in 100man gangs?

Your clearly in the wrong FW area, 70% of what i see being used by minmatar forces is t2, and if not usually t2 fit, last night i witnessed faction ships being used by some of outbreak in and around kourmonen.

I've been seeing faction ships left, right and center. They usually stick with the larger blobs, but I almost caught a Fleet Issue Stabber in a safe the other day. Lots of fully T2 fit cruisers and frigates flying around too. It can be tough filtering out and singling out the single kills, but it just takes patience. Not much different then before if you really think about it except you can bet that you'll find a target or two within a couple of key systems instead of having to travel 30 jumps and only see 2 ships.

Same, seeing a lot of faction ships, mainly frigates though, firetails and navy comets. May be worth a ransom if you can catch them at an acceleration gate.

I wouldn't call it piracy now, not quite. What I'm doing now is better than piracy. Faction Warfare still allows a piracy corp to gank and camp at it's pleasure, but being inside a faction...beautiful. It's accurate to call it counterstrike in space. My corp has done low-sec chokepoints, low-sec belt piracy, 0.0 roam/belt piracy, Merc work, 0.0 fleet warfare, mercenary contracts, high-sec wars and POS ransoming/warfare, and nothing has been as fast-paced or exciting as FW PvP. Nothing at all.

LC i recommend you join your faction and help your race they need it.
Trust me you don't want to run into a militia blob while flashing red it just makes you a juicy target.
Learn from history when two nations are at war and have mobilized massive fleets to annihilate each other its not smart to jump in between and yell yarrr. |

you can pirate in FW, just be careful, and fly late at night when people arent paying as much attention.
its about as easy as me flying solo pvping in auga when im fighting for the amarr empire.
You just have to tank sentries since they will be on gates or stations.

Edited by: Morel Nova on 02/07/2008 08:40:09 FW has made pirating very dangerous in my area (bleak lands) with large FW gangs and supporting alliances having roaming nano gangs in the area also.
Getting solo/small gangs of mission runners in the FW areas is pretty fun though and they do drop some nice mods/ransom sometimes (and the fights are nice and fair with locked ship types :)), but overall if you want to camp gates it requires a whole lot more caution and bigger groups than before.

faction warfare has brought some blobs to low sec, however those blobs are sure fun to fight agaisnt!
Plus some of the FW groups do use some pretty nice ships and you can still manage to pirate in low sec

We are racking up massive kills and very few losses. Just have to play it smart. Most of our fights have been 3-6 vs 20-150, and we have won all engagements. One involved a carrier and phobos loss, but we killed more isk than we lost.
Most of our kills are against Mimmi blobs, but we've killed some Amarr FW too.
Have to say this is most fun we have ever had as pirates.

I don't understand this!
In the first few weeks of FW, Vitai Lampada and Snuff Inc. tried pirating in Old Man Star, Heydelies and other systems in the Gallente and Caldari combat zones. These pirate corporations were always a target for the Militia fleets and they lost a lot of ships. They have now moved back to their regular haunts of Aeschee, Lisbaetanne and Jovainnon, which do not get a lot of FW activity.
Over the last few nights the Gallente Militia has been actively seeking Caldari or Pirate targets in the FW combat zones and we just do not find very many, just lots of Gallente militia in each region.
We don't mind loosing our Tech2 fittings, we just want a few battles!

actually we crushed a few pirate camps here and there while in caldari militia.. But thats probably also better from pirate's side as what they want is PvP.
And ganking same hauler pilot everyother day shouldn't be much fun at the end :)
So maybe piracy is harder atm in lowsec but also more exciting. I don't think u'll find a pirate that will say "OH NOES,TOO MANY TARGETS"
So Welldone to CCP.
They somehow made the lowsec alive

I just love the role reversal--now instead of the pirates always blobbing ppl it's the other way around.. The real problem is for neutrals cause everybody fires on them--all FW groups and the pirates. U can bet it's the neutrals the pirates are really going after as they don't like to fight unless the advantage is heavily on their side.

I cant speak for everyone, but I doubt there are many pirates who would turn down a fair fight. yarr! That doesnt stop us from blowing up a hauler 10-to-1, but thats just business

That is if you play with pilots that aren't willing to risk their assets. TFS has engaged plenty of FW blobs. We prefer not to join FW due to the amount of blues. Standings =

Edited by: Dalen III on 04/07/2008 19:36:29 There was way to many blues in my little area of roaming so I quit. Had some nice fights on gate/stations in small ships but was about it. Also blob warfare is not nice to blinky reds for many many reason. In all just be happy theres more targets and avoid the new FW jumpbridge chokepoints. I've been pod'd twice so far without even loading the 100man fleets.

It put some fun back into piracy, I would have thought, but the days of casual gatecamping in FW areas are a thing of the past.

The only thing you're pirating there is the egos of those who think you're an easy kill... ...
