can anyone help me out here? I've been a researcher ever since the lauch of Castor, i now runs 4 Projects at the same time. In another day or so i'll be have 5 projects running. However i still yet to receive anything from my R&D agents.
Just want to know what to expect if a BP is going to be awarded to me? Will agents send me an eve-mail to tell me about it?
Because i have so many agents and they are not all close to each other. Sometimes i ignores their mission mail, does this affect my chances of getting a BP ?
For those who have won a BP through the R&D agents, i'll be grateful for any information. I'm sure many others would like to know as well.
Cheers

Thanks for the info. So the breakthrough msg is independent to the R&D mission msg ? If it is the case, i guess i just been really unlucky... in the lottery... Fingers acrossed hope something will come up soon.

Errr... might give you a clue how I feel with 37k+ Laser physics on 1 agent without ever been offered something that even came a bit close to crap.

Edited by: Gun Kata on 20/05/2004 12:26:46 The problem is no matter how many r & d agents you have working for you and no matter how many RP's you have you can, after many months of research, still end up with the square root of nothing.

Heh, I just feel the need to inform you that I got my very profitable Small EMP Smartbomb II BP from my Laser Physics agent back when I had 120 research points Nothing since though. Now I have around 6k points.
I've also been offered 2 different BPs from my Quantum Physics agent, but turned both down since they were too crappy. |

The message you get from your RA states that research has been halted. If you fail to answer that mail, although your RP still rise, you won't get another mail and as such I think won't be offered a BPO. I could be wrong though

Edited by: Azimov on 20/05/2004 14:51:51 yes you are correct, you are wrong, unless this has changed in the last few weeks, I got a tech 2 frigate bp and i had not done a mission for that agent in over a week when the mail showed up, this was a few months ago.

I would very much like to have this confirmed officially. I really don't feel like doing a 100+ jump round trip every day - but if it is necessary then

It has been stated somewhere by PapaSmurf that the bp lottery is completely independent of the state of your daily missions. I just can't find the post where he said it atm. --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

Thx for all who posted replies. It has been alot of help. However it must be agreed that the current Lottery system doesn't make much sense. With very little information from the official patch notes or help. Players had to rely on the forum (un-official) info. CCP is lacking in this area, expecting the player to search the answer rather than provide a full description for each feature in form of an updated Manual or F.A.Q.
From all we researchers out there not getting any BPO for all the work and time and isk put into the research missions is rather disappointing. The morale is low at least on my side. After some 6 months research time and a combine total of almost 60k in RP in all my 5 fields (STILL NOTHING) I seems to gave up on the R&D agents... and invested my time to other operations in eve. Still accumulating RP though, hopefully one day in the near future my luck will turn. I like to wish those in the same shoe the best of luck too. After all it is a lottery, if it's not me then it could be you

Still doing 1 R&D agent, say a try out. 39.000 Rp on caldari starship and no bpo yet. But i can tell you this, it's my first and last R&D i do. Doing now 4 moths the same r&d agents 18/39 and nothing. This isn't research, it's a rip off.

Edited by: Darklogan on 10/06/2004 14:02:58 Edited by: Darklogan on 10/06/2004 14:01:54 Well i'm the same, i have 4 project of research and make r&d since the dicember patch but nothing. But i'm not very suprised, the lottery has been bugged since the last patch as sure. Who received the first bp continue to received also the new reducing possibility for the other players. I don't know if they fixed in the last patch, i only know the papa said that he didn't know anything about that and that he would have investigate on the fenomena, this 2 months ago.
I'm here still waiting for a bp even if i saw tons of them dropped in a single week.

The daily Eve-mail just says blah blah blah we had a problem, research has been halted, until you bring us widgets (or whatever).
It doesn't mean that you lose all the research points you previously got. Those are already there, entered in the Tech2 lottery as your tickets.
So even if you aren't actively doing the research missions, you still have your old research points and could theoretically win a blueprint.
What I'm not sure about is if indeed the research stops if you don't do the daily mission. Does the research indeed stop as the dialog line says?
