I don't understand all the hatred towards donna noble, wether you like catherine tate or not, she had one brilliant thing about her....she wasn't mushy over him, and that is how Doctor Who should be.... I was distapointed Rose didn't die, cause I hate her character with a passion, she is a stroppy kid. Glad Gwen didn't die, cause life wouldn't be worth living if anything bad happened too her, but I feel the copped out of killing anyone...I know we had the Donna Doctor personality die, but I still think it lacked the punch that it seemed to be building up too, but don't get me wrong I enjoyed it....one thing I could have done without was the bleeding kiss! That was awful and wasn't needed, but then at least we don't have to suffer Russel T Davies fantasies anymore! Hope we find some way fo bringing the Daleks back after the Doctor2 caused their genocide, it just wouldn't be Doctor Who without the Dalek threat hanging over him...

I was ****ed off that the ending was waaaay too long and killed the episode for me. Granted, there was a lot to tie up, but surely they could have done it in a less less pathetic, lengthly way.
Kinda reminds me of that film that was made a few years back by the spielburg, the one with that robot kid. If you turned it off 15 minutes before the real ending, it would have been better.
The main story was awesome though, just wished I turned it off 15 minutes earlier.

A painful hour.
Dreadful from start to finish, managing to top last year's **** finale by a good order of magnitude. So obvious that RTD is retiring has has run out of ideas, and wont ever recreate the brilliant Doomsday finale of season 2. Bring on stephen moffat, who can write. _______________________________________________ Mercenary Forces |

Edited by: shaqarava on 05/07/2008 19:49:50 Disappointed that Tate won't be doing another season, she's a love-her-or-hate-her kinda character, but I really liked her, she seemed a down to Earth type. But it would have been terrific if she stayed as her Doctor-Donna personality, those two would have been crazy, and I'm sure that would have made for some great shows even if that idiot RTD stayed on. And I agree with Nigel, I hated Rose with a passion too, I felt sorry for the clone Doctor, he'll always be a second-rate copy of the original in her eyes, poor guy. I wouldn't mind if Martha becomes the Doctor's companion again, as much as I liked Donna, Martha seemed the only actually useful companion thus far.
And as for the Christmas 2008 teaser: Cybermen seem kinda meh now especially with what the Daleks were gonna do, what can they do that can top destroying all of reality? I think the Daleks should have remained a constant enemy like in American sci-fis, SG-1 with the Goa'uld, Atlantis with the Wraith, BSG with the Cylons. Even in the old seasons the Daleks were ever-present in some part of the universe waiting to surface instead of these one offs where the Doctor foils they're plans in a single episode or two. Thank god RTD is going though, a post on the IMDB forums caught my eye asking him "don't let the door hit your arse on the way out" lol.

Yea, I surprisingly liked the Dr. Donna part of the story too, sometimes she grates but most of the time I am not bothered :), glad the Rose storyline is dead, I actually liked her but not since she came back. Needed more Sally Sparrow tbh.
Glad RTD is going. but I feel slightly cheated this season with Moffat's double episode ruined by directing. Too much 'Hey, who turned off the lights' but still had a great story.
Anyway, Cybermen, meh..

Extermineiren!
According to google, the German word for "exterminate" is actually "ausrotten". I guess Daleks aren't too good at languages after all. __________________________

This. On so many levels, she's just irritated me non-stop after she kept coming back, it was like trying to flog a character on for more viewers.
Although, the spinning Daleks cracked me up. Especially "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!".
Very good episode, the ending was dragging a bit, and the Cybermen... eh, not too sure what they can do, hopefully it'll be well written.

Edited by: Patch86 on 05/07/2008 22:22:30 I particularly liked the Donna ending:
"Donna's memory has been erased. She won't remember me, or anything we've done together. In fact, if we ever meet again, she'll instantly die. If anyone ever mentions me to her again, she'll instantly die. In fact, if she so much as thinks about any of the events in the last series again, she'll definitely die. Sorry about that."
Sort of like reassuring the fans: yes she's gone, and no she can never ever come back ------

The episode was rubbish, a total cop out.
That said if I were the doctor a celebratory threesome with Martha and Rose would be in order.
