Do capital and freighter ships increase or decrease their market price as time goes? If I buy a freighter now for 850M, how much will it cost in about 2 or 3 years? What about you about this?

1. Yes. 2. Depends on what happens to the value of the minerals/components it's made of. 3. Please clarify. Zzz research towers Direrie NEW: Liekuri

Exactly what do you plan to do with that freighter? Do you actually need it for hauling thus increasing profit / lowering time consumption? If so then buy one. If you're just looking for a long term investment I'm sure you can find other more profitable destinations for your funds.

If I were able to predict 2 or 3 weeks I'd be very happy, never mind years...
As far as using a freighter goes, I waited until the first time I said to myself "If only I had a freighter I could make a killing here..."
But, I never did actually make a killing, but I quite like having a freighter, just for the sheer "isnt it big'ness" of it really :-)

Edited by: Amrumm on 07/07/2008 12:33:23 Given that trit is currently down, short-term I would expect a slight decrease in freighter prices.

Freighters have come down in price quite a bit since Trinity, when many of the BPOs were switched to copying, now since many more BPOs have been purchased and the BPC price has gone down alot (as well as some of the low end mineral prices) their prices are reduced.
They could go up again, they could go down abit more. If you really knew for sure it wouldn't be a fun game ;)

I'd expect prices to remain pretty flat. Mex isn't going anywhere any time soon and is the next largest chunk of a cap price next to trit. |

The long term direction is probably down. Concord doesn't provide consequences. Concord provides insurance payouts. |

Just for the speculators, freighter bpcs hit rock bottom a month or two ago, and have started to come back up with a large portion of people getting out of the freighter bpc bandwagon. There's also almost always freighter bpos on contracts now. I think they hit their bottom on price recently and will edge back up to revelations price levels by December as the source of dirt cheap bpcs is almost completely played out. _______________ Pwett CEO, Founder, & Executor <Q> QUANT Hegemony

Still doesn't change the fact that mex is 30% cheaper than it was at Rev, and again. Mex makes up the next biggest mineral chunk next to trit in terms of capital cost. |
