Don't get me wrong I have Both Nav and AB skills at lvl5 and can use MWD's with no problem. Most of the time while I am hauling. But after the introduction of insta BM to me, I seem to have lost the need to use them.

Hye dude, i totally understand what you're saying, realy i do, my point this traveling by book mark and insta-jumps, while everybody does, is in fact an exploit
I suggest you petition CCP about this 'exploit' and see what they say. It's very much the same reply you get when you petition the sentry turret 'exploit'.

Mate I think i should clearify my position, i don't want to see either go!!! believe me...
But ya man here, is saying that a legit part of the game should be done away with in favour of an 'exploit'. Surely that's not right?
and insta-jumps are great, if you have corp that will give you some copies! but if you're a noob in a noob corp, what chances do you have?
This game is not just for the old boys...

p.s. I read your thread about the sentry turrets, i'd be ****ed about that to. I right with ya there!

Noobs have the same opportunity to make instas that everyone else has.
Did you make your instas? My perspective is they should be kept in but you shouldn't be able to copy them. Then at least you have to do the work to make them in the first place.
Did you make all your own instas? I know I did.

Really, I'm saying this as honestly as i can, i don't want to see either of them gone... swear to god!!!
and if i'm honest no I didn't make all of mine and I am a noob too. I made most of the ones i use however.
I just think that it's a little unfair to enforce one person playing style on another player. and this goes double if that playing style uses a exploit.
I'm also saying that, if you have a look thru the other threads you will hear noises being made about insta-jumps being scrapped at gates and stations.
I wonder if your man, would be so keen to scrap MWD's should the other players get to enforce their desires upon him and have insta-jumps scrapped
I'm not trying to get in a fight, i just see both sides of think that really we should be living and let living! not calling for something to be done away with that alot of players use.

Firstly, is everyone oblivious to the fact that Psychian's posts are satire? READ THEM PROPERLY.
Secondly, DeFood, in your argument against using MWDs and ABs you have perfectly illustrated why insta-jumps should go. Doesn't it strike you as wrong that with ubiquitous instajumps the only reason to fit your ship for speed is for PvP? Instajumps circumvent game mechanics and hence are an exploit.

Hehehe, that's a good 'un.
If they get rid of MWD's, they may as well get rid off all the hidden structures and spawns, unless the jump drive takes it's place, then there's the MWD's ability to outraun missiles, get to gates quicker, set up safe spots...which will be required for setting up POS's.
On that note, when/if the jump drives come out they can get rid of gates, which will save the whole Ganking/griefing/insta debate. I yearn for than day.
Dropping mid slots on Indy's, another classic, lol, ahhh good un', nothing like a good jest

YESH KILL AB and MWD for anything bigger then a frig, they clearly are outdated and useless. I mean COME ON, when i pilot an indy hell if im gunna use nanofibre or MWD, no way, they will kill off my superior cargo space mods. Plus i have these cool insta jump thingys. WHats fun is we got em from someone else, who got em from someone else, and we dident even have to make these 30 jump BMs for ourselves which is FUN FUN FUN

You can't have Insta BMs for all 5000 systems, including all the possible station -> to gate; gate -> to gate variations within a system.. With that, you can't consider insta-BMs superior to MWDs, sorry. It would take you 3 times as much to fly in a shuttle creating insta BMs along the way, fly a shuttle back, and then fly with your ship to the destination than if you were only using MWDs.

My capacitors recharge faster than my Miner IIs drain it. Technically, I could mine indefinately without ever turning my 5 Miner IIs off. I use insta book markes for Station > Field; Field > Station.. but for traveling, I always use MWDs (for the reason mentioned above).
