Note - This would only work for missions rats that auto aggro
Sacrifice a mid slot and stick an ECM in it. Then ECM the rat closest to the salvager. (I used to ECM belt rats regularly so I know ECM works on NPC's).
When you eventually break the rats lock on you he should (hopefully) target the salvager instead of you.
Then repeat with next rat.

This only works on stupid ninja salvagers. Salvagers like myself, frequently speed tank large numbers of rats because I orbit the wreck instead of just flying to it and stopping. I also fly and inty with inertia stabs and nanos in the lows.
If you really want to **** of the salvagers, just kiss your wrecks goodbye and splode em. ___________________________________

Or you could recognize that your wrecks are pretty much forfeit if the mission is infiltrated without you having a salvager handy, and go back to running the mission ignoring the salvager so that you get the income NOT available to him more efficiently.

Well if everyone takes your attitude of just giving in and accepting your fate, that will just encourage more people to do it!!
If everyone who got 'infiltrated' made a stand by shooting all the wrecks or trying something else like I suggested, then the salvaging will be kept to a minimum of hardcore pests.

I moved system, haven't seen a loot ninja in ages. Too many loot salvagers around Motsu so went to run lvl4's elsewhere.
Before I did that i'd tractor all the loot to my ship and stick it in a can with the hope they would look in the can so I could blow them away. |

Two questions. Does ECM work on rats & secondly would ecm get you concorded? if not flashing red at the time of turning on the module.

Concord ain't gonna let you blow me away unscathed just for 'peeking' inside the can.

Look at the salvager. Move the camera POV in line with his longitudinal axis. Target the wreck he heads for and blow it away just before he gets there. Rinse and repeat. If you have to lose the salvage in your mission, not only should nobody else get it, but they should be denied it in the most frustrating way possible. --- Some days you are the pigeon, and some the statue. |

If you did have any plans for slavaging/looting your mission, you just destroyed your lootz. Most ninjas just yoink the salvage and leave the lootz. So toss out that stack of dollar bills because someone came along and skimmed 2 or 3 off the top.
If I see runners popping the wrecks, I will be sure to approach every-damn-one of them just to get you to pop them all. If I can't skim 2 or 3 off the top, you can't have the 48 that are left!

So I pop all the wrecks so you don't make any cash and you make sure I don't make any cash from the loot. So as long as your in my mission NO-ONE makes any cash. So whats the point of you being in my mission, its called stalemate, mate. And i'm willing to do it just to annoy you.
The point is that if i'm a mission runner and your a petty thief, I probably have ten times more cash than you to start with anyway.

We're not spending tens of millions of dollars on our ships (you are) and, while you might be right, but that dynamic changes while you start popping the wrecks. Once you take away some of your revenue due to blowing the wrecks, you're making less ISK.
(Oh, and btw, proper grammar is your friend.)

This is not irritating to me in the least. There have been more than enough BS's with aggro against me, and still, my little frigate keeps plugging away.
Now, if your post was how to annoy Mission Runners, orbiting their ships while they tractor wrecks in, and salvaging them before they do... ...now, that's irritating!

I was thinking that too. Eve deserve a lesson......We shall all became ninjas.
Mission runners need to worry more about their ships than the damn wreck thing: game mechs and concord are not so clear sometimes.....and on monday morning my drones are always drunk: last time they targeted and bbqfired my cat ;)

If you assume that "ISK" means "Interstellar Kredits", than that may be the case, however, the term in use does have another recognizable meaning of "money", in which the use of the word "less" would be more than acceptable.
