Please, also check the graph of the new falloff curve. The new formula makes guns do more damage in their falloff range than before.
Your gun wasn't meant to hit good at 100km range with EMP ammo.

Fall OFF doesnt change the short but the longrange, i dont care i cant hit **** close range with an longrange gun.
Currently the Tempest with 1400 is perfect, you cant fit 6x so the damage output is not remarkable or unbalanced. Next patch = back to stone age for tempest.
Now, DREAMWORKS, if you say the tempest with 1400mm projectiles isn't overpowered, can you please explain to the playerbase why your corp (OC) pretty much ONLY use Tempests and Scorpions in combat?
It's obvious to anyone that you thinks the Tempest is the best BS. Hence it is overpowered. Still you come here to whine when it gets a nerf to get balanced? You make me

I think Eight explains it better than me:
Quote:
Eight 2004.05.21 11:55:19 Regarding the new falloff of artilleries: The old falloff was only acceptable in the old system where accuracy fell off extremely dramatically. A very large numeric falloff advantage was only a minor effective advantage. In the new system falloff is far more significant. This means the weapons with the extreme falloff got an extreme boost. To even things back out some their falloff was decreased (it's still the longest of any class). If you recall the dev blog which explained the new accuracy you have 50% accuracy at Optimal+Falloff now. That would have put 1400mm Artillery at 40+60=100km (80km with EMP L), and even the supposedly long range 425mm Railgun at 48+24=72km (40km with Antimatter L). Now things are more reasonable.

Thnx alot Neith

Are you really saying that just because a ship gets used it needs a nerf? By that logic the Raven should get hosed because you and Jim Raynor fly them. On and on it will go until every ship in the game gets its turn with the nerf bat. Then we're all be flying Herons. Sounds fun
Please, engage brain before posting. I can very often be seen in a megathron. I'm not seen in other ships because I can't fly them. I rather want to be the best at one thing and not be able to do some other things, than to be able to do everything but suck at doing all of it. However, most of Dreamworks and his corpmates CAN fly many other ships. But they still almost exlusively choose to use the tempest. See the difference?
