Edited by: stinkpickle on 10/07/2008 10:45:56 I am new player and right now my plan is for first 6 months or so get in battleship and farm 4s for isk then heading to 0.0. I dont want to be in a pirate corp but a corp that protects terriotory and runs fleets to protects assets etc. After getting in BS to get isk I will concentrate on getting better in the smaller ships and then want to go to 0.0.
My question though is some ideas on how to move stuff there. I figure i will go through camp after camp. Do most ppl just liquidate their assets and then move and get new ships in 0.0. I doubt I would be able to sneak my Raven to 0.0.

Don't move battleships through the 0.0 chokepoints, if the alliance you're joining has any degree of organization you'll be able to buy new ships and equipment there at reasonable prices.

Yeah moving BS to 0.0 is one hell of a feat! I remember last year before I left for a while I go to the middle of stein with my rokh fully rigged. passed several gate camps with not a single weapon equipped(that would prolly kill me) It was a fun thing to do as several guys followed me for a few gates and it took me quite a few jumps mid system to lose the tail - it was fun but at the time I had quite a bit spare ISK os losing that S wouldn't be a hit. If you are talking about bringing you BS (being most or all of your assets) to 0.0 forget it or it will end up in tears...

Set destination [insert system here]. Undock. Follow waypoints. You're in 0.0!
It's not always camp after camp you have to go through, it's the lone interceptor or two just wants to have a bit of fun by tackling you and seeing if he can scramble backup fast enough ------------

Or if they ARE organized and of decent size you will probably find, like I did in the past , that they will help you out by Carrier jumping your assets out to your new home, if they havn't got this in place , i would look for another alliance

Running choke points can be done although it's not often easy. Even the most camped choke points will have a few quiet moments in a day.
Your best bet is to have a friend or a second account expandable alt scout the choke point systems for you to see if the route is clear or not. If it isn't look for alternate or backdoor routes that may have a better chance, it means extra jumps but that's better than sitting in one place all day waiting.
For your battleship put at least one warp core stab in the low with a mix of nanos and inertial stabilisers (note they have stacking penalties to fit them in equal numbers where possible to get the shortest align time possible). You should also fit a MWD and a prototype cloaking device. The MWD will give you SOME chance to burn out of bubbles or back through a gate depending on what you encouter, but any chance is better than none. The cloak will let you hide at safe spots or in a few cases cloak immediately after jumping through and hopefully not being spotted by any hostiles trying to follow you through the gate (this has saved my ships a couple of times although it's a real gamble).
You can also fit a couple of light ECM (for tackling frigs etc) or energy neutralising drones (for Heavy Interdictors) if you have the inclination that can give you some chance of breaking a tacklers hold on you.
Nothing can guarantee you a safe run through a choke point or any other jump to your destination. The most useful of everything above is having a good scout to watch the path ahead of you followed by an appropriate travel fit that can get you out of harms way as much as possible.

to be honest. it is not that hard to get into 0.0. I decided one day that i would use a Hawk or Cerberus. And just fly as far into 0.0 as i could before i got killed. I entered Near Badi, flew into 0.0 for about 20 jumps. Turned around and came all the way back. I hardly saw anyone in local. good fun

Get into a corp/alliance that lives in 0.0 BEFORE you try and enter it. If they're worth a damn they well help escort you through the entry point to 0.0 (or mabye even jump it up in carriers, tho don't do this with goons as the vast majority of them will just take your ship and kick you outta corp) and show you the ropes etc. It isn't necessary to buy everything again in 0.0

There's an old adage - don't fly what you can't afford to lose. That means your missioning ship, should stay parked in a missioning station. That way, if the worst happens, you don't have to mine your own BS in an ibis.
But yeah, if you've got a big enough slushfund, buying in 0.0 is handy - assuming the market's ok. Some regions are, some aren't.
BCs can rat 0.0 comfortably though, as a rule. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? |

Moving a battleship through 0.0 chokepoints is not worth the risk. Just pick the fastest frigate you can fly, fit nano, mwd, cloak and go. You will find decent if not cheaper prices in 0.0
You will have to join a 0.0 alliance thought so you can dock. --- "There is no lag in Jita, NEVER!" - Iraqi Information Minister |

Moving a BS through 0.0 chokepoints is quite safe, as long as you scout ahead with an alt. or better, get a couple friends to scout ahead.
