Ok, why is it that when I am just flying around in space, mining, etc. there is this nice music like you would find playing in the background of a day spa and then when I use a accelerator gate this synth-electro rave starts up, shaking my whole house with its heavy bass beats. I swear I see the glow sticks and disco ball spinning on the bridge every time I go into combat.
I dont mean to be petty, but it is a little disconcerting that my crew are partying on X and GHB whenever they go into combat, which explains why they dont do so well.
So while the npc mob crews are all pumped up and ready for action, my Captain is doing flares on the bridge floor while the science officer is spinning phat licks on his turntable/scanning post.

Most people would probably tell you to just turn the in-game music off, and play your own using a 3rd party audio player of your choice.

I can't play EVE atm due to a crappy graphics card (but I can log on and change skills). One night I decided to log in and just play the background music (with hanger noises) as I went to bed.
I dreamed that I accidentally reprocessed all my stuff. No joke.

I remember the first time I heard the accelerator gate music. It was also the last. Nothing against the music, it's just playing without sound is so much better. :P

Well that is a relief, as I have only been playing 3 weeks and this was my first contribution to the Eve forums, it is great to know that I already bottomed out and everything from here on out has to get better

Doh... I figured I made a mistake when I picked ex-dancer as a career and my starter ship was shaped like a mountain dew bottle.

You should probably train up multitasking a bit then.
I mean yesterday, I was battling ten Sansha's battleships, while at the same time throwing a sick bridge rave, using one of my maintanace drones to fill out my corp taxes in my office, and using another to teach freestyle pottery in the engineering annex. I probably could have accomplished more, but the dance solo i was pulling off on the bridge required several more avatars than usual.

People underestimate the importance of crew morale. A poorly motivated crew will not do well in tense situations.
I play music using a 3rd party music player, lets me pick the music for the occasion.
If I'm about to go into combat, I put some rock music on, it really gets the gun-crews motivated.
For when mining, something soothing and slow paced relieves the crew's tension no end. :)
