is it just me or does anyone else feel that fanfest is no longer for people wanting to get the news about future developments before people staying at home.
this is going to be my 4th fanfest and im pretty upset with how its being handled to **** over people going.
Fanfest for me was to meet some fellow gamers, drink beer and find out about upcoming sexy eve news before people who didnt/couldnt make it to fanfest.
then you started giving out ingame luxuries for people going aswell, not my bag but im not saying no.
EveTV live streaming the fanfest dev talks and giving away the same ingame perks? 400 ingame isks is alog cheaper then 1900 euro's for the same services being provided albeit digital.
no doubt the party on the last day will once again be overrun by people that dont even play the game.

just want to confirm, i enjoyed the 3 previous fanfests and ccp welcomed us all well, just think its lost its way in technology. at least delay eve tv on the conferences |

maybe they need to balance the cost of the virtual stuff rec'd vs the trip cost, if they're going to give the same things away IG to people virtually going and those physically - I'm not sure as I haven't looked at the rewards that closely
but still, if they stream some of it for people who're interested, who knows maybe there'll be more people who's interest to actually attend is piqued
also, you gotta know somone'll be youtube'ing a lot of it so.... might as well make it official!
& No, I'm not going - wish we could. We'd like to make a family vacation of it but isk is easier to acquire than $ lol |

You get to pick your roundtables, participate in events, speak with devs, brainstorm ideas, get the freebies, see iceland, sadly my HD stream, shows what it shows and I dont get a dev turn up at my house :( |

In the age of twitter, you know all the news instantly, regardless of if it's being streamed live or not.
Also if this is why you go to fanfest, just to hear news 30 seconds faster than everyone else, you are doing something very, very wrong.
