My experience missioning in Amarr space is that the larger rats typically engage in the 30-60km range.
I would suggest trying Minmatar space, as Angles tend to like short ranges.
As an added bonus, Angles deal damage against your shield naturally high resistances.

Edited by: Pteranodon on 11/07/2008 23:32:39 Angel Extravaganza would be a good mission for you given out in Caldari space. Lots of big battleships orbiting at 10k or less. You should be able to just about hit one with your torpedo. Farm the mission for a week then use the ISK as a major contribution toward a Golem which can take proper advantage of torps

Angels love to get in close. So do mercenaries. ------------

The danger of these type of missions is that the web/warp scrambling frigs ALSO spawn up close with the bs. Thus on some angel missions you will get a wave of bs for the torps, but you are instantly jammed and webbed, so you can't get range and then you also can't kill those level four frigs with torps as a torp will do nada damage.
SO, before you try those missions, make sure you have t2 light drones and or fit the last two slots of the raven with some anti-frig guns...
As dumb as it sounds, some people fit two small lasers in the last two spots. This lets you web enemy frigs and hit them with small multi-freq beams so they die fast. The other reason to use lasers is that you never need ammo so it is one less thing to worry about as opposed to fitting two 125mm rails.

Angel and Serpentis are mostly close-range combat, even in lvl4's...

???
Only Guristas jam.
Angels are best, Serpentis are... meh. Dampeners are no fun and a lot of their ships fly at 20-30km. Angels do explosive damage which is perfect for you, and their e-war does jack shit.
And fitting a web to take care of frigates is rather silly. Just let your drones do the work. Play the Celeste Lottery! |

OK, stoopid noob questions here:-
How would i 'farm' Serpentis Extraviganza?...
I'm guessing that;- 1) you dont hand the mission in. 2) you have to leave at least one enemy ship alive? 3) you have to wait <insert time here> before going back to kill everything again. d) you have to be very carful salvaging and probably have to do it in a BS and 6) you have to have another agent near by so that you can do other missions for them while you wait for SE to respawn?
