I am looking for a good not to expensive thanatos carrier setup for small gang engagements. As atm I do not really have a clue of how to fit this type of carrier. Have flown a chimera before but thatĘs a total different story. Would welcome any fitting of people who fly them as well not EFT warrior if you please I can do that myself.
Thanks in advance.

you can fly a chimera but have no idea how to fit a thanatos ???
less ebay m8.
if you are that far in game where you can fly one type of carrier... you should be able to fit any other whit ease.
example:
DCU, 2x smartbomb, neut, cap remo rep
4x cap recharge, sensorbooster
2x cap rep, ean, 3x hardeners (exp, kin, therm)
3x CCC rigs ---------------------------------- Fighting for Minmatar o7 Yes... this is my main. Extreme Troll Slayer...

Highs = 1-2x remote assist (preferably one of each), 1-2x neut, 2x smartbomb
Mids = Sensor Booster, 24km+ point, 3x cap recharger II
Lows = 25% faction CPR, 2x 22.5% faction EANM, DC2, 2x cap rep
Rigs = 3x CCC
Change faction to T2 if you wish.

thanks for the tips got a idea now. and for the record i do not ebay. the fact is one is a armour tanker and more focussed ond amge and to other is a heavy shield tanker more focus on the tank than on damge. ofcourse i can come up with a fit that would prob work but it wont be maxed out because i lack some experience in that area. ----- in vicis of bellum lex cado silens I respect forum mods so I aid them |

its just strange that ppl who have trained for a year+ for a carrier have no clue how to fit all types of ships... its not bloody difficult to figure out how to armor tank a carrier :P
and if you pvp just a bit... you should have killed lots of armor tanked ships... ideas from there also. ---------------------------------- Fighting for Minmatar o7 Yes... this is my main. Extreme Troll Slayer...

Thats the shittiest setup I have ever seen. May be riho was right after all.
1) Nobody uses DCU on a carrier these days. You have better things to fit there. Like remote reps, which you already have. Smartbombs, to deal with enemy carrier's drones(and other ships drones). May be you can fit 1 dcu to comphensate for the lack of carrier lvl5. 2)Carrier's locking time is already shit. Without sensor boosters, you are not gonna lock your mates before they get killed. Sensor booster is not there to help you tackle. And when/if you get attacked, you will be damped to death. 3)I dont see any type of self repairing modules on that ship. And one low slot is empty.
That was my constructive critism. Here comes the flame. You are a ****ing noob. You dont deserve that ship. (j/k)
Seriously, dont use that setup. Its horrible. ______________________________________________________________

woops that what you get when you do this stuff when you are tirred glad i didn't fit it yet :D do have a cap repper in the lows. and a sensor booster is a good idea aswell.
but what for the last low slot? CPR? ----- in vicis of bellum lex cado silens I respect forum mods so I aid them |

Edited by: Larkonis Trassler on 14/07/2008 11:33:17 High: 2x Large Smarties (upgrade to faction if possible) If you find yourself fighting off a station then these will help immeasurably for taking some of the DPS off you if you happen to be primaried. 1x Heavy Neut (upgrade to faction is strongly reccomended) This is for neuting down those pesy tacklers if you find yourself jumped by a small gang intent on holding you down. 1xCap Armour Remote Rep 1xCap Shield Remote Rep (however you can chop and change to 2 shield/2armour depending on what your gang consists of).
Med Sensor Booster II (without this you won't be able to lock your buddies up fast enough) 3-4x Cap Recharger II 0-1 ECCM (getting jammed is a pain in the arse)
Low 2x Cap Armour Repair (you can permarun 2 with good cap skills) Exp/Kin/Therm Hard II EANM/DC Thanny has epic hull HP so the DC while giving you less of a tank may allow you to last that little bit longer.
Rigs: CCCs (people go on about SMCs, but they are fail. CCCs allow you to jump faster etc etc)
Do not fit drone control units. Your job in a small gang is logistics, dps is a bonus.

Fit another capital armor rep. Lots of people fit EANM instead of DC mainly because they dont want to enter hull and no carrier has ever survived after entering hull. ______________________________________________________________

I have seen a carrier survive after entering hull, the DCU II he fitted bought him enough time for his mates to warp in and remote rep him. He survived with significant hull damage and full armor. ------------

iv heard of such things happening :)
it really depends how you fly your carrier.
as bait for small/med size gang... id use DCU for that exact reason
in cap fleets.... more resists = better because other carriers will be repping you also from the start ---------------------------------- Fighting for Minmatar o7 Yes... this is my main. Extreme Troll Slayer...

I give you to little credit Lark! Quote is easily the smartest advice I've read in the last month.
Edit: If motherships count as being carriers, I've seen 4 tri moms in structure and all survive. Two disappeared in time before the node crashed, saving the other two
