think the silver magnate is one of the fastest, then minmitar ships when you take into account race bonus, i have minmitar frigate lvl 5 and my breachers/rifter and vigils go like sh1t off a stick with no mods!

yeah, but not counting the silver mag and the skills on the minnie frigs - the Executioner got the highest base speed

I donŠt see a point in comparing executioner with minmatar ships without ship bonuses but I was surprised at the fact that an amarrian ship has the highest base speed. But like I said it doesnŠt matter because if you can fly a slasher then you need minmatar frigate level 2 which boosts your base speed to 363 which is just barely higher than the base speed of executioner.
However the executioner does have 3 low slots compared to slashers 1 so with overdrives the base speed of an executioner is 350+3*30 = 440m/s compared to slashers (330+30)*1.1 = 396m/s. The comparison doesn't end here though... no I'm bored and you will pay for it slasher has 1 more med slot than executioner which can be fitted with an afterburner boosting the speed let's say 40% (can be more or less based on skills) which gives slasher the speed of 554.4m/s.

Fastest ship I know about, is a Minmatar Rifter fitted with a 10MN MWD....... Corp Chief Engineer |

Fastest frigate I've seen, was a Tristan.
Reason: It has 3 medslots. Hehe.
3 MWD's (2 of them named), lowslots had 1 local hull mod, and a reactor control I think.
I had to do it. An alliance mate had just punched his Kestrel to 48K/sec...
I hit 65K/sec for about 1 second, after I had engaged all 3 MWD's. Didn't even see the cap go down, it was just...gone.
But after approx 35 secs, it was pretty good again. And I had moved ~750K from where I had started, and people were asking why I had warped ;)
Oh yeah, btw, of course one guy in an interceptor had to prove he could outdo me. So he did. Don't recall the exact speed, but it was a good deal more than mine :)
Cheers. -Clipped Wings of LFC

A shame that isnt possible ...
150 PG is not possible on a frigate.

So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

Sqalevon, i think he mistyped. I think he means a 10Mn afterburner.
That should be FAST!

I fitted a 10somethingN afterburner to my wee lil' punisher and ive not bothered travelling along to get it to its top speed (cap gets drained fast as well)
ive had over 900 in it tho, which was fun. docking / approaching stargates is just so effortless and quick.. sometimes bounce off the stations im docking with installed in my Bestower now, as its standard speed of 150 sucks!
nothing amazing tho, a MWD must be insane!

Nope, about 2300 m/s, I run mine on one as the MWD nerf is coming.

I calculated that a Crow with 3 1MN MWDs theoretically has 15.75 seconds to reach it's maximum speed of 114750 m/s... If after 3 seconds you already had 63% of your speed (which seems to be the characteristic with ABs and MWDs). ---------------------------------- You won't like me when I'm angry... |

well you can surley make some odd fittings with some 10mn ab or 3 mwd on a frig, but like dragster-races: are they usefull? :-)
so the fastes usefull is IMHO minmatar, becoz of the speed boni the ships get.
vigil: 3 OD, can fit 1 or 2 mwd's depending if you like to shoot something with that or just want to have a fast blockade runner. it beats the amarr crap executioner everytime. since the slot config of the vigil is by far better than that of the exec.
the top-end of speed is the minmatar Claw. goes 743 m/s with 4 tech I ODs and navigation at 5. if you turn that MWD on it goes between 4.5 - 5 km/s constantly, depending on your MWD and navi-skills.
you are still able to shoot missles and stuff in that gear w/o problems. i run all my level 2 kill missions in that Claw setup.

for dragster-setups: try a thorax with a 100 Mn MWD, completly useless, but if you need the speed-kick, go and get it. -- my current auctions |

with a few overdrive injectors on my executioner, i can go 506 m/s... but once i get 1 more pg, or just buy one of those things that does 10 to pg, i will be able to fit a 10mn ab on it... then i will truly be fast, also, i have gone 11km/s in Maller with 3 100mn abs and i go about 1600 in punisher with 1 10mn ab and somethin else, but that was a long time ago, now i can fit more abs on it... so ill have a new personal speed record soon
the below statement is true the above statement is false |

The 10mn ab gives base 35% boost for a cruiser but 350% for a cruiser. The 1mn mwd gives 500% boost for a frigate which means you get a better boost by using a 1mn mwd than a 10mn ab the only gain is that you don't get a cap penalty but when using 2xmwd you don't really intend on running them for very long, run them for 5 seconds and you are already 100km away. __________ Capacitor research |

I have got a crow to up to 177 km/s. Could get a bit more, but only runs one cycle (3 modded mwd)ŠI only have 3 in highspeed so it could do more.
The crow can maintain 25-27 km/s pretty close to forever (2 mwd and a small cap II). Im sure you can get it faster (overdrive and better highspeed)

Exactly. Highest combination of base speed (including skills) with # of low slots. Interceptors are a different beast entirely.
I've switched from a Vigil to a Rifter though for travelling. A hostile Crow last week reminded me of just how little HP a Vigil has, especially if it's running 3 nanofibres

If you want to see what your max speed would be, engage the afterburner then click show info on your ship, you will be able to see your max speed with the AB instead of the base max speed.
