Originally by: Captain Richthofen So is it a pretty balanced game or does almost everyone play a minmatar deck? I noticed most people said it is a fun game but it also needs to be balanced. I have one friend I got into eve who wants to play, but I want to make sure it is a semi balanced game before I buy any cards.
since no one around me has decks, i took my 2 boxes and made 8 medium quality decks
me and friends then pick them at random play each other. it's more of a strategy game now, sorta like starcraft in space - -

It's not all that balanced, except for a general theme which relates to the races in some way .
As for the choosing, it's all down to the player, as i've said, i'm Gallente, which means i would not play Minmatar cards . It all depends on the mindset of the player, if they're playing Minmatar then they're either Minmatar or only playing as them for the advantage that player would gain . Not all that different from players of EvE itself .

Ok thanks for all the help. I might still buy the cards just because they are based on the eve game
If anyone knows a place I can get some for a good price please let me know. I am in the USA so shipping could make a big difference in the price.

I'm an eve ccg agent for washington and it has been 7 months without any contact so my guess is it's dead :/
However if anyone else on these forums lives in the seattle/redmond area you should come by and play with us anyways :)
it's a great game it would lead it'self really realy well to a board game.

Here's another bump to the idea of making an EVE CCG Online version - similar to what they did with Magic The Gathering - as one of the games you'll be able to play in Ambulation.

Ya I was thinking a board game would be cool. If I am ever in Seattle I might do that. So it sounds like if I am in a big city I can find some people to play with.
I think they may have a chance to bring the card game back if they put out a new expansion and did some serious advertising.

Best place for me was www.ccgarmory.com I ordered both start core sets, the 4 pirate decks and 6 boosters, 3 from core and the expansion. The game is fun for sure but it's not exactly perfect. It seems to sometimes be more effected by initial draw than by other games. But there was some great matches I've had and the game really makes you think, right from the start. It's funny how well is resembles the game itself during the huge fights aka LAG. The amount of thinking that needs to go into a big battle say 10v10 ships takes quit a bit of time to figure out. The ships abilities in game are implemented well into the card counterparts too.

Hey thats not a bad site cheaper then the other site I had found. I am thinking about getting the starter sets and one of each booster box the ones with 24 packs. Do you think that will be enough to make 2-4 decks?

Sorry to dig up such an old thread, but does anyone have the latest on the CCG? I just received all 4 stater packs of the core game and I have 2 of the start packs from the expansion, plus a bunch of boosters for the core game on the way.
Is the game still being supported? The official site looks dead. I have yet to play a game, but just looking at the cards and reading the rules has me excited. I love good CCG's and Eve's looks to be top notch. I wonder why it hasn't taken off? Does it need a lot more support from CCP?

Just bought a few of the Exiled expansion starter packs (the 2 that I couldn't get from the White Wolf store...and weirdly, they're not available at all in CCP's store). They look like a really nice addition to the game. I asked my local game store if they ever have groups come in and play the Eve CCG and the one woman said she's never seen anyone play it.
What's up CCP? This is a great game that is markedly different and, in my opinion, superior to most CCG games. Why is there not more diligent support behind it? Especially now that White Wolf is on your side? It would be a shame to let such a unique and wonderful CCG die.
