Shame, always think boards should have people who speak their minds no matter the consequences.
p.s. How many toons are you posting with now on these forums?

You guys at EBank still need to work on your communication skills.
1. You should have a policy that if a director / employee resign EBank makes an official post and the person resigning adheres to a joint statement (hopefully). 2. Only 1 person from EBank should be posting in this thread 3. All the directors posting with their opinions or clarifications always makes matters worse than they are.
There is probably not much going on here, but you have made it into a bigger drama than need be. The chances are know that you will have to make some sort of official clarification.

I am surprised no one has asked the big question hanging out there.
What did Ricdic/EBank spend 175B ISk on?

Edited by: cosmoray on 15/07/2008 19:15:03 The more I think about this, it brings up some concerns.
1. It is a shame that Shar left the bank, as I do beleive that you need strong opinions to provide a balance against the CEO.
2. There should be rules about authorized spending levels by bank employees. i.e. It is right for the CEO to be able to use the bank finances on investments up to a LIMIT. When the total level of investments or a single investment reaches that level the CEO should require board approval.
If it turns out that there is no oversight to directors actions, then what does the board do or influence?
If the answer is not a lot then you shouldn't be there.
If anything happens to the bank (folds/undercapitalized) all the board members reputations will be ruined.
Of course this is all speculation, but unfortunately EBank will HAVE to make a statement about the 175B ISk, to stop market rumor and possible panic.

1. The lone voice of reason has left EBANK. 2. EBANK is essentially Ricdic's personal fiefdom. 3. Most everyone else on the board is too pre-occupied and/or scared/useless to say "boo" when required. 4. EBANK is utterly useless at communication and could seriously do with a media course. 5. Oh, and PP is here to save everything with his own, unique brand of apology.
What did I miss?
This is genius.
EDIT: All I need now is a post from LaVista Vista and I can die happy.
1. Yes nobody else argues or speaks up at all. What will Ebank do now. 2. Actually Ricdic has spent every Ebank Isk on spirits and slaves. I dont even know how we hande withdrawls anymore. 3. Yep to scared here. 4. Working on communicatoin, but some of that was false as said by me, hexx, and I think 1 or 2 others. 5. I never appologized for joining Ebank and never will. I will appologize for my IPO failing, but I also did the best I could with my situation. And I posted multiple times I am in the US Navy and things come up beyond my control, multiple times. ALL INVESTORS new this.
I wish EBank directors would learn not to argue or flame in official EBank threads. It makes the issue much worse.
You even point out about communication issues above. You guys need to stop all posting with your opinions and just have one voice.

I hope lots of these players don't have over $100K in IndyMac (upto 100K is insured by FDIC), because it is bad if people lose cash, but more importantly it will make me feel even poorer!

How would I have handled all this.
1. Shar leaves, makes his post 2. Appointed EBank PR person adds an agreed statement to Shar's thread. 3. No other EBank employees make comments 4. In the EBank website forum announce that Proton Power is joining EBank as an advisor.
End of story no drama.
Instead, everyone joins the threads. PP feels the needs to defend himself (I agree he didn't do anything to bad) Other EBank employees add their comments The rumors and PR starts to get away from EBank, speculation continues Damage control is failing
OH Crap.

You sound like some Agatha Cristies... they don't add up either.
Is it 125 billions, 175 billion, 200 billions? You are the bank, you should be able to tell me within 1 isk how much it is.
When was the dicision made by the boards for investments of 30, 125, 175, 200 billions? Before or after the isk was already invested?
Who is the one to invest it? Who is the one with the plan? Is it ProtonPowers (sorry if I misspelled) or Ricdic, both versions appear in this thread?
What limit does the single fund manager have? Has anyone ever used more without prior consens of the board of directors?
What do you owe the people investing in EBank morally?
Do not answer it. You are PR, you say so yourselve, you want to make EBank look good. But do ask it internal, constantly. It is your reputation that is on the line.
Not our business how they invest their capital.
The only 2 things that matter.
1. Can they meet their interest payments 2. Do they have enough liquid capital to handle withdrawals.
Throwing some numbers around and speculating:
1. EBank has about 1 Trillion on deposit 2. At about 2.5% per month average 3. EBank requires 25B per month in interest payments 4. EBank has a 280B loan book 5. Most loans at probably 8% 6. Loans make 22.4B per month 7. That leaves a 2.6B shortfall 8. EBank has further 720B in ISK capital 9. EBank uses 200B in asset backed business returning 5% 10. Business makes 10B per month 11. Minimum earnings = 32B and require 25B to cover interest 12. EBank holds some other assets leaving about 400B is liquid ISK
The 250-500B liquid ISK can handle all withdrawals. Loan book only earns so much interest EBank has to use capital to make more money, or they would have to reduce total deposits
Is your money totally secure. None is in Eve, but in EBank its safer than any other IPO.
No need to fuss.
