Since I started playing in EVE I've noticed that a lot of the ships in-game bare resemblance to quite a few real life vehicles, characers and or every day items we might find around our houses. Here are some of the comparisons I have made.
The Maller's forward hull bares a very odd resemblance to the new model of Cylon Centurian's face plate.

- Evil sideways eye included.
The Crusader/Executioner looks familair to the new model of Cylon Raider.
-
The ORE Rorq looks somewhat like an Earth Alliance Omega Class destroyer.
-

You know EVE's 2003 release date predates most of those pics right? That and you can hardly call Battlestar Gallactica "Real Life"

Some big ships.
Hurricane = 580 meters long (according to overview)
How big is that?
Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier = 340 meters long
Star Destroyer = 1600 meters long
Big ship.

In that you (and others) are comparing eve ships to cylons, star wars ships, and other assortedly similar things - I think you're using a vastly different definition of "real life" than I am.

Signature radius isnt the physical size though thats the electronic size of the ship, when a modern jet fighter has a signature radius of a golf ball can you imagine how big some of these ships really are?
Your common rookiship sports the same size as a 747. your drones are the size of tie fighters most likely. Megathron is about the same size as an ISD.
