The Navy Apoc Treasure Hunt
The hunt is back on and the prize as you may have guessed is a Navy Apocalypse with a Navy LAR.
Sec and Sat's lottery wasn't successful this week so I'm going to try running this event again and see if it works.
The idea is that you place your entry here and send the fee to "The Rat Race" corporation. I will add your name to the list and just before the start time on the day of the race you will be called into the ingame channel "Treasure Hunter" (if you are unavailable at the start time I'm afraid you will be discluded from the hunt without refund). You will also need to be in Romi solar system which is the start line.
The way I will start the hunt is to give half the clue in local and half of the clue in the Treasure Hunter channel. This makes sure you are in the start system and thet people in the start system don't get the whole of the first clue.
The hunt will take place in Amarrian space seeing as it's a hunt for an Amarrian ship. Only enter this event if you are sure you can enter Amarrian space.
I am opening this event at 5m per person and we need to get at least 100 players to sign up in order to run it. If I don't get at least 100 players by Saturday 26th July all entry fees will be returned.
The Event will run on Sunday 27th July at 14:00 eve time. The event should take about an hour depending on how fast you figure the clues out. You don't need to be in anything but a shuttle or even your pod. You don't need to pick anything out of a can so no criminal flag. You don't need to be able to fly the ship as it will be contracted to the winner at a station in Amarr and can then be sold by the winner if that's what you want to do. This event is running in hi sec only so you won't be the victim of a low sec gate camp.

Not a terrible idea, however I'm 99.9999% confident you wont get 100 people involved. Increase the price to play, and decrease the number of entrants. You're setting yourself up for failure, expecting 100 people to get involved in such an event.

I totally get your logic, however, people seem uninterested in payingmore than a few mil for "the chance to win".
My logic was drop the price get more entrants. I'd have dropped the price even further but I know I wouldn't get that many players interested.
I have a feeling it's gonna be a long road.

I'm interested but i'm quite the noob yet ;-(
i do have a cruiser, but what kind of knowledge do you need. simple mapping skills, knowledge in eve history/storylines etc??
5 mill is all the money i have in the world right now..b (not counting the ship and backup ship i got ) So i would like to now if i have a chance or nog ;-)

Sounds fun. How exactly is the event run? do you give clues as to where to find secure cans with further clues on them? What is to stop someone probing out the ship and stealing it from legitimate entrants?
If you can address that concern I'll be willing to play.

Sorry guys I had to call the rat race off due to total lack of interest.
As Effei said the first one was good but even that had a low turn out for a free prize. Seems to me that players aren't interested in putting their game time into this kind of event which is fair enough.
I am building up funds to do some more free lotteries soon so watch this space.
