Just figured I'd toss this out there. I see a ton of threads about battleships, and cruisers, yet hardly a peep about titans.

Well, BOB alone has about 20, so, yeah, probably more than 40 total... and even more titan-ready pilots.
P.S. Those who have'em know how to fit'em. Most of the time, anyway. They certainly WON'T need fitting advice from this forum anyway.
The sad part is that carrier/dread fit threads are so common, they're basically almost as common as battleship fit threads 3 years ago.

Aww, that's not quite true. Tempest/BS Arty whine threads push BS's over the capital fitting threads. :P

As stated above those who are driving titans do not need advice how to fit them. They should have firm enough understanding of game mechaniks to fit it for the role they intend to fulfill with it.

If somebody needs to come to this forum for advice on fitting a Titan, they probably won't have to worry about it for long.

ppl who say, "If you have to ask u shouldnt be flying one" are idiots. If you don't know how to give constructive advice then don't post and why do u care if they don't know how to fly a ship, its not like u paid for it.

In case of titan however statement 'if you have to ask you should not fly it' is true. We are not talking about some small scale gadget where every noob can get into in month or two. Titan is alliance weapon. If your alliance has no one in it who can come up with working titan fit then your alliance should not get one.
To smaller extent I would say same for motherships. If you are flying one you should not need to ask advice how to fit it. You can post your setup and scenario you plan to use that setup in and ask if you have missed something, like if this or that officer module would justify their cost in that situation and fit.
In a nutshell people who just ask for 'how to fit supercapital' are usually just trolls or in some cases genuine n00bs who think that bigger is better and do not know yet what it takes to fly one.

Maybe you'll see it this time. Reading ftw!
Also, the saying "If you have to ask, you don't need to know" certainly applies in EVE regarding Capital ships. If you are going to fly a Capital ship, you should have the experience and game knowledge (I.E. Being around Capitals enough since you SHOULD be in a corp that can support Capitals if you are getting one!) that you don't need to ask how to fit it on the forums. _____________ Hai. |

Let me guess. Do you have a capital ship, or at least one that lasted more then a week? No? thought so. There's a difference between saying "here's thoughts on a setup. How can i tweek it to make it better?" and asking "How does a Dreadnought compare to a Carrier?". Trust me, if you don't know the difference between Carrier and a Dreadnought then you obviously don't even know what they are.
Capital sized ships just can't be flown like regular ones. If you don't know what to even do with one then how can you even expect to use it. Anybody who asks this question and still tries will find themselves either disapointed with a massive waste of isk/time and/or dead. It's just a fact that capitals, supercaps * 1000000000, that EVE is this way. They'll be doing themselves a favor by not bothering. _______________

1. Because 2 month players can hop into cruisers and battlecruisers, so the need for fitting advice is more apparent.
2. Battleships and Cruisers are so much more common. Of Titan pilots, there probably isn't more than 700 on TQ. Compare that to pilots who can fly battleships and cruisers. You will see battleships and cruisers many times daily all over New Eden. Not so much on titans.
3. Some threads are for PvE fitting. No titans are far as I know shoot NPCs, thus you don't need PvE fittings for them __________________________________________________

There's far more than 40. There's at LEAST 40-50 confirmed, and that was a couple months ago. So that's not counting the amount between now and then, and the secret/unknown titans.

Note also that Artemis was talking about Titan pilots, i.e., people who are qualified/skilled to fly a Titan, not the number of them on TQ. __________________________________

I know multiple people who can *fly* them but not not have the ship for obvious reasons, i'd say the number of capable pilots, being 'people who would know to fly one' is several hundred with somewhere between 60 and 80 titans actually existing.

I meant 700 capable (or at least able to sit inside one) Titan pilots, nothing about their ships. Thats being quite generous I'd imagine.
