Read OP, didn't read the rest.
Most people respect what others do, since they pay to play the game in one form or another.
However, being completely misguided and bashing those who shoot at you because you may or may not be somewhere you shouldn't be, does not make them hypocritical. Don't go there or bring more friends. People that make isk just to have it and live for nothing but running missions, etc, is not what the other side of the room does for the most part. PvPers and pirates, etc, that are alting to make isk, aren't doing these things because they like doing it generally. Mostly, they do it, as you said, to fund their PvP habit.
Carebear to live, not live to carebear. Anyways play how you see fit. Smacktards are always around, and they pay to play as well.

Originally by: Kirex We don't hate carebears because they mine or manufacture, we hate carebears because they constantly ***** about EVERYTHING and want the game changed constantly to suit their play style better at the expense of pvpers. They're driving this game to be more and more towards consensual pvp only, and it's ****ing us off.
Edited to add reference points -by Gwendalyne-
If the carebears <A> want a new ship class in between Transport and freighter, sure whatever, doesn't bother me. If the carebears <B> want a way to stop "griefer" corps from deccing them, or <C> autopilot warp to zero, or <D> 100% ship and module insurance, <E> or perma ban scammers, or any other way to fluff up this game, it directly effects us and that is why we hate the TRUE carebears.
Okay. First off, I am a carebear.
Not because I hate getting ganked. I am still very new to this game and have alreay lost QUITE the number of ships to a gank (and from the aforementioned "griefer" corp wardec-ing us)
It's because when I DO get ganked, I hear all this TRASH TALK in local! "HAHA PWNZ NOOB (JAJAJAJA, ETC.) Come out in your n00b ship and play!"
Absolutely tasteless. Sorry, PVP'ers, but you are guilty by association.
Now, maybe if you would stop <A> following us at our max speed of 100 m/s asking what our hold is worth, (EDIT: While Target-locked) <B> chase grossly inexperienced industrial corps all over Empire, <C> ...Okay, I agree with this one. Autopilot = laziness = not being careful... <D> ...Also agree on this one, but DAYUM when the fittings cost more than the SHIP, don't ya just wish! and <E> spend all day flipping cans and adding/subtracting zeroes/ whatever...
THEN we will stop complaining.
I am a CARE BEAR because I CARE, and I abhor PVP'ers because they MAKE IT TOO OBVIOUS THAT THEY DON'T.
Guilty by association, am I?
That sounds like a fancy way of saying that you're too lazy to avoid stereotyping. Yes, I see "PvPers" smack. But I see plenty and plenty and lots more carebear smack too. In fact in my experience, smacjk tends to be in inverse proportion to the ability to back it up. People who actually are PvPers don't need to smack; they can let their guns do the talking and their tanks do the listening.
I make no claim to being a good PvPer, mind you, but as a rule I don't smack unless I see something truly egregious (like the gang of 9 pirates with a carrier to support near Tama who lost a Domi and a Myrm to our gang of 7 HACs/Inties/1CS, then hid in a station until they had a second carrier to support them, then called us noobs and cowards for declining to engage. All I did was ask how come they lost 2 ships for no kills to cowardly noobs...)
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

I'm going to put it like this...
A carebear kill is like sitting down and enjoying a nice rare new york strip steak. It's absolutley delicious, its bloody as hell, and you savor the taste of it long after it's over.
However i will always look at the cow my steak came from and regard it as a lazy, boring, and otherwise unimpressive creature that spends it's life milling about consuming bland weeds, excreting methane, and waiting for the butcher to make its life worthwhile.
I will always enjoy killing carebears with the ships they painstakingly build, but i tire of the cow complaining while i enjoy my steak.

I am a pirate and a proud owner of an invention/manufacturing carebear alt (although my marketing methods aren't always the most honest ones, they said I should consider a career as a car dealer ), because the other activity I've always loved besides blowing up stuff is creating stuff. My distant goal is to start a small pirate shop in some lowsec system one day, and by doing so I'm hoping to create a small tradehub for outlaws and such. ___

People don't like vocal whiny carebears, because they are a minority and they threaten a game they love.
You can find other cooperative, PvE driven MMOs. You can't find another EVE. __________________________________________________
