Well if CCP ever get stuck for an upgrade, they could stick us with some Aliens cruising in from deep space causing mayhem.
If you were CCP doing the Alien Menace Expansion, what kind of aliens would you introduce?

If we ever have aliens, it'll be the Terrans I think.
The problem is that sci fi is full of fictional races and that to take such an undertaking in such a game is difficult without infringing on someone else's IP. Although such cases usually fail in courts, the mere cost of them is prohibitive for most gaming companies so its better to avoid them.

Playable Jovians would be cool. Tech 3 ships would be up to par with theirs for example.
Playable Serpentis, Angel, Guristas... that would be cool as well.
Then introduce a new race or aliens. It will be pretty rich. I dont thşnk it is hard to implement.
Terrans may come back after a Dark age, forgetting the ancient knowledge.

- Tribbles: Especially once we can walk in stations. If so I'd unleash a Tribble infestation in the Jita stations. :P
- The Ood, so we can replace those upstart minmatar slaves.

- Gungans: I hate Gungans. If Gungans are introduced I will spend the rest of my EVE life shooting them. Nothing I'd like to shoot more than Gungans (or have removed from known memory all together for that matter).

Nononononono. No new playable races. That completely locks out the current players. Especially me - I was the first character on the server, and I didn't get the option. Hell, even the new bloodlines were bad enough. Only way to become Jove for me would be to start a new character, which is never going to happen.

Race of furious ByteBitters (BB), they came in swarms, attracted by massive warp signatures, destroy everything that is fulish enough to engage in combat or to slow to run... and they then dissapear again...
Let¦s say they appear when more then 50 ships are in combat, they come just after the lag and clean the place up! Lag free fest after that

Perhaps older players could get a cloak for their avitar in ambulation, would that make you happy? :P
Seriously, I think this idea has some merit. I was thinking that there could be an alien race which cannot assimilate with normal player corps, stations etc, something that is competely asymetric with the other four races.
Perhaps this race would be barred from empire, perhaps not concorded, but at least shot by faction navies, and flashy to everybody else.

Actually the Jove race is .. or WAS on the calendar to be introduced into the game. You are supposed to be able to "transform" your curreng character into a "Jovian" with the aid of the right skills and biomass (at least that is what was talked about). I haven't heard much about it in a while so I'm not sure if it's still out there to be implemented.

yea 5,000 star systems, that's practically the entire universe  .
maybe you're argument would have some weight once we reach 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) star systems which is equivelant to roughly 1% of the estimated star systems in our galaxy.

Expanding on the current "aliens" is good enough for me. Flesh out the Rogue Drones a bit more, make the Equilibrium of Man an official faction, and have more visible Jove activity...even though it's just them playing online poker. |

I think space whales are an excellent idea. But as a new twist, I suggest they act like the whale monster from bubble bobble. Spend too long in a mission room and the space whale comes out and eats your ship. This would add some strategy and sense of action to the PVE game.

A silicate lifeform might be interesting.
Perhaps those asteroids are their nursery. They left some time ago to attend to unknown matters. Then started to get distress calls as mankind began to mine out their nurseries. They started this way to investigate but only now have they arrived.
They would of course look like various asteroids. As an opening scene they might pick a heavily populated world and rain themselves down upon it destroying all life on the world, and of course ramming any stations in orbit. Jita might be a nice place to hit being that we mined out all the asteroid belts.
They would have no shield technology but their armor would be much tougher than ours. Their structure would probably be superior too.
Their preferred method of attack, ramming would be useless against the small and medium fast ships, but devasting to slow and unwieldy ships. They may also have developed means of breaking pieces of themselves off and hurling it at 'human' ships.
