Actually i believe it's very clear that the 3Bil+ ISK that we've 'made' from this event is all going on eBay and we're going to buy a small island with the profits...

All joking aside, BIG has made 0 ISK directly from this lottery, as all proceeds from ticket sales are flying straight back into the lottery fund... and back to you guys - so keep buying those tickets!
What BIG has gained from this is publicity, a increased reputation for fairness, and the trophy of 'best supported player event' in the Eve universe so far... If anyone wants to argue with that, I have a whole bag full of STFU to unleash on your ass...

Um, BIG is using the proceeds from this lottery as the "pot" for the next lottery, which will be happening in only a few days.
So BIG won't make any money from it and the ISK will stay in the economy.
And someone is going to win over 4bill ISK. (The proceeds from this lotto plus ticket sales from the next, unless ticket sales from the next become the "pot" for the one afterwards.)
I personally think BIG should skim a few percent of the proceeds from their non-CCP-funded lotteries to pay for the effort that it takes to administer their lottery.

I certaintly believe it was fixed as I sent in isk, added big games to my address book, and sent a evemail as to what the money was for. I never recieved any confirmation, a reciept all attempts to get that resolved were ignored. Then on the day of the lottery I'm told my isk went towards a different lottery drawing that I did not win Whatever Ripoff indeed. |

You know - I have to actually *write* a mail, even to those ppl who have not put BIG Games into their addressbook, as the only time I find this out is when I hit the submit button.

Actualy Mr. Alt, BIG have been around for a LONG time running their lottery events. As such it could indeed be argued that it is not favoritism, but rather has been earned through long and dedicated service.
I think it's a great idea by CCP to encourage the players to come up with creative services, and then rewarding them if the players are dedicated to keeping the service running. Profit or no profit.

The event was badly organised given the number of people that would of course been attending.
BIG corporations lack of moderation rights on their own channel was rather inept and quite frankly I was embarrased for them when they had to call in oveur to calm it all down. The fact that all the m0o guys got bored about 20 minutes before that and left non-withstanding.
I don't think it will be a problem for future events as this was hardly really an event in the first place (just drawing some numbers, although even this took 200 years due to the rather unorthodox methods employed by BIG).
Also was nice to see that the valuable apoc went to a nice alt char, I was SOOOO glad when that happened ¼_¼
In short a complete waste of time and a smack in the face to all amaar roleplayers everywhere.
