Hello, EVE forums! My name is CCP Taera (or Laura in the real world) and I'm the new Associate Community Manager for EVE. I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself before you start wondering who that new forum/news lurker is!
I've been an MMOG player for around 12 years now and I've logged more hours in EVE than I care to disclose.

Interesting, I've seen a few games now that are using females as community managers, probably due to the likelihood of them not receiving nearly as much abuse and maybe lulling the male populace into being more forum abiding eve citizens.

Just because this is a mmorpg doesnt mean that everybody who plays it fit into the stereotype image of a mmorpg player. Probably almost noone does.
Personally I have a job I really like, excellent salary and fantastic coworkers. Eve is just a game to me, I play it mostly on the weekends for a couple of hours. It doesnt consume my life.

Laura is not some form of glorified assistant, she joins the community team with a lot of experience and we're looking forward to learning a lot from her while teaching her some new things. We thought that since you were all going to see her name a lot more it might be nice if she introduced herself so you all knew why she was here and what was going on.
There are some devs at CCP who doesn't drink. I drink a bit but not often or a lot, which is good considering the cost of beer in Iceland.
Chribba, this thread is not about Veldspar. I'm very, very sorry, but it just doesn't have anything to do with Veldspar.

Thats probably what 95% of posters really want to know since being an internet spaceship captain isn't enough fantasy for some people.
Have fun doing what you will be doing, and please kick CCP and make them do more Dev blogs. Staff keeps going up and up at CCP yet 'real' Dev blogs seem fewer and farther between these days - which kinda sucks.

We almost killed eachother in an arena of death, but we had a montage moment and realized we were really the same deep down inside.
