My my what an interesting night I missed here.
Shame I missed the drawing but I have to go to work in RL to pay for my subs to play Eve.
Shame I didn't win the Imperial BS. 
Well 3.5 Billion is a hell of a lot of ISK and I really dont know why people are getting so upset about not winning such a huge amount of money. Just what on Earth ( Or Chaven II or any other planet) were you going to do with all that money. I worked out the other day that you can buy every single Frigate, Cruiser, Interceptor, Shuttle, Indy and noob ship for about 750 million isk
If your arguement is that "I was gonna give some to my corp" very generous of you my corp is very small so 3.5 billion would still be a lot of money each. If your part of a Megacorp then it probably already has a few billion in assests. If your corps very survival depended on winning this then your were stuffed already see below.
Remeber as well that this is a chance game this drawing for me was 1 in 3500 chance or there abouts. It probably wan't going to be you anyway lotteries are like that. In RL you buy your ticket on saturday hoping you can call your boss on Monday and tell him to stick his job. In reality the vast majority of us still have to go to work on Monday.
More people will win substantial amount of money and no-one was ever going to be able to spend 3.5 billion on themselves anyway. If your complaining then please try and put this in perspective. you now actually stand a better chance of winning something.
To Tornsoul and the rest of the BIG Crew Nice job you guys are doing. A bit more notice on the proposed rule changes would have been nice but other than that I agree wholehaeartedly with what your doing here.

Well it is Bigs lottery so i guess they can do more or less what they like with it. If you can do a better job go start your own lottery and well take a look. If i like the look of it i will enter.
As for people not applauding the changes in this thread well you dont know much about human nature do you. People complain about things they dont like but rarely do the praise even when they feel its due.
Ever ring up a company in RL to complain about something? If Chances are high that you have. Ever ring up a company in RL to say wonderful job you guys are doing. I doubt it. If you have then you are one of the few. Trust me I work in customer services for a major UK company. Almost No-one contacts us with praise but we must be doing something right as we have about 2 million customers who could easily go elsewhere.
If you're not ever going to enter the lottery then that means the chances of me winning have just gone up a tiny bit

If you dont like giving your money away why did you enter a lottery.
No one here has even a good chance of winning. Your chances of winning (regardles of prize size ) is terrible.
as its set up under the new rules your chances of winning something are better than they were before the introduction of this change.

Remeber boys and girls this is just a game. I know a lot of people spend 27 hours a day 9 days a week in the universe of Eve and therefore may mistake it for RL but trust me it is a game.

@ crazychimp not all of live in the United States of Litigation. Laywers arent the answer to everything trust me on this. 
@ Laughter and Ivresse Nice to see a couple of other people who understand what lotteries really are. They may be stupid mathmatically but we still play them don't we. And as for lowering themselves to cheap shot like asking how much BIG are paying you... well just goes to show that they already know they've lost.
Interesting that these people protesting about the changes seemed to think that by argueing loud enough long ehough and in some case dirty enough that every thing would suddenly be changed to exactly what they wanted because BIG would suddenly decided to make another policy change. That was never going to happen. This thread was for the Purpose of TornSoul and BIG to try and explain (to those who are prepared to listen) why they have made these changes.
Amazing how many people think that merely repeating their arguements , well thought out or otherwise, will get the person they are discussing something with to change their mind. Infact IMHO that is the least effective method of bringing someone round to your point of view.
I fully supported the changes because I could see straght away the benefit to both me and the lottery playing gamers in general. shame that everone cant see it too but hey thats life.
If you feel that strongly petition the GMs as TornSoul has decided to leave this thread alone. I have no doubt that one or two have already done that.
Just to forstall the first question BIG are paying me nothing but if flaming me or making childish remarks about me makes you feel any better please feel free. Given what i do in RL i doubt anything you say will upset me even in the slightest

Hooray at least one of the anti change people accepts this is a game.
Once more to put it into perspective. Rod Blaine (the Marquis of Crucis Court by any chance? ) Even if you have been ripped of how much have you been ripped off for? 1 mill? 2? 3million? If you petition the GMs everday thats gonna take you 15 minutes per time in which time you could go and run agent missions and make your money back no problem at all. On top of that it will help you relax a little by Killing a few Blood Raiders or who ever your local pirates are. please dont give the "its the principle" rubbish no its not thats the lamest cry in the book. your just annoyed that you now have almost no chance to win 1 billion/500m/ 250m rather than almost no chance to win 3.5 Billion. If thats the worst thing that happens to you this month then consider yourself lucky.

I got podded a while back and i didnt like that either. Do i come on here and complain or go cry to the GMs no i got over itand marked the pilot concerened in my note for a return podding if i ever get the chance.
This isnt a scam IMHO but if it were it would not be the first and it sure as hell wont be the last, If you cant cope with that then maybe its best you find anther game as Eve maybe too tough for you.

BTW If casually mentioning that I got podded a few days ago is your definition of complaining then why have you been writing essays about how everyone who played got scammed surely a post with "the lottery is a scam" would suffice.
The comparisons is actually great because all thats happened is something in a GAME that I didn't like.

Dubi. Despite the fact we disagree here recently its not been about wether the changes were right or wrong. Recently its been more about what can you and the rest of the people opposed to the change can do about it.
The answer IMHO is nothing. The changes have taken place and I really dont think the decision is going to be reversed or altered. You and others sharing your point of veiw have made strenuos objections for 5 days now and at no point has anyone from BIG said "Oh ok we'll look into your points and consider changing it back."
The Official line as shown above is that CCP are not going to impose any changes either. i dont thinnk BIG have broken any rules of the game but feel free to correct me as i am no expert on them. Do you not think that if any change was going to be made they would have at least hinted at it to settle things down in this thread.
To think otherwise is ,again IMHO, deluding yourself. My advice (and I stress this is only advice) to you and all who feel hard done by is give up and go home. You've said your piece its been heard and it hasn't changed anything. Chalk this up to experience and never have anything to do with BIG again.
Sorry to paint such a bleak picture but thats how I see it.
