Raven is an incredible missile BS for small gangs. 8 effective launchers + 2 utility slots for heavy neuts to just turn off smaller ships, or smart bomb to pop drones set on you, or remote reps. Even better, its viable without t2 launchers thanks to cheap arby sieges, so can be used cheap/low sp. Sure, not good for solo due to lack of tackling or large gangs because of the problems missiles have in those, but, sweet, sweet ship for small gang warfare. If it could armer tank it would be flat-out overpowered.
Heard the 'phoon was pretty sweet as well.

Nono, not far back enough:
Once upon a time, the Raven was supreme - then missles got nurfed. Then the raven was not so good. After which Jav Torps were introduced and the Raven was good again but Jav. torps were nurfed and the Raven was not so good again. Finally, torps were buffed and the Raven was so so again. . . And here we are today. The Raven is fine.

Balancing blows donkey shaft. What this game needs is un-balancing. In today's game environment, (aside from Cap ship warfare) skill points are irrelevant: it's all about numbers and ship-class mismatches to win the day in any kind of engagement. Any kind. Period.
So having a 8-slot missle boat is irrelevant. I say bring out the un-balancing. Each race should have some kind of unique advantage - and some more than others (with an appropriate antithesis). Not everyone sucks vs. everyone (balanced). Bleh. Has killed the game, imo.

Making one ship deal way more DPS than the other battleships, simply because you're bored with PVP, is pretty silly imo.

In my two and a half years in the game I have never seen anything but a picture of a State Issue Raven. Given that I think they're only given out as prizes I can't imagine they are common enough to actually really be purchasable, much less worth the risk of actually undocking in.

P.S. I feel some of them are not overpowered enough to qualify for ridiculous requests, any suggestions ?

That roden should be:
6 turret 4 launcher
7.5% extra armor repair per level, 5% damage per level 5% bonus to cruise/torp ROF per level, 5% hybrid ROF per level. ---------------------------------

I want a startrek Romulan predator- 27 disruptor arrays & hundreds of photon torpedos but I guess a CNR will do for now-it's powerful enough for mission running & my missile skills suck.

as a torp raven pilot id like to point out how stupidly over powered this would be. ;)
the torp raven thesedays is a dam fine ship and totally the pinicle of missile combat. ;)

Ships with 8 launchers = more missiles on battlefield = more lag = more disconnection = dumb....
And that's why CCP limited the number of drones/ship to 5, except for Guardian Vexor and Carrier
