I made a thread the day after Trinity hit, with some complaints about how some Minmatar ships looked worse in trinity. My biggest disappointment was the Nidhoggur, and even people who disagreed with most of my other gripes agreed that the Nidhoggur looked terrible.
Here is the old thread.
I haven't flown the Nidhoggur for a few months, because it's ugly, but also because mine got stuck in an outpost I can't dock in anymore...
I logged in today to pick up my new Nidhoggur from our factory station and lo and behold, they've changed the model!!!
They fixed 4 out of 6 of the things I complained about! I'm so excited! Thank you CCP!
Here's a clip from my old post, and some new screenshots!
I have 6 main grips with this ship:
-The back end looks like a cardboard box, it used to be sculpted and had many complex shapes, but now itÆs drab and blocky.

-The ôwingsö on either side just in front of that are also rather blocky and undefined, the engines on the ends of the wings actually have less detail than before, they donÆt have an exhaust at all, just flat metal.

-The ôteethö on either side of the front of the ship, which were so distinctive in the original model are completely gone.

-The ôbridgeö towers on the top of the ship also look terrible; the original model had a leg up on this version in that department for sure.

-The hanger bay is also disappointing, itÆs not as deep or detailed as before and lacks the interesting lighting on its interior that the old model had. ItÆs hard to tell, from this picture, but the new bay is shallower and there is also a gap above it that looks bad.

-The textures on the huge plates on either side of the ship are also drab and lacking detail.

The last two things that didn't get fixed, I can live with. I'm so glad CCP redesigned this ship, it looks MUCH better than the old client now! THANK YOU!!!!

^pretty much this. It can look as nice as it wants but in a fleet fight its not gonna help.

I'm going to take a closer look at some of the other ships I had beef with, I wonder if they did any other work without notifying me :P

So the best looking carrier gets another face lift? Now if the Chimera gets the same attention!!
Srsly, its a good looking carrier as it is, I really can't say it needed the changes. And as for the bonus' - its an amazing ship to have in RR carrier gangs (fleet), there is little to complain about.

Chimera is yummy from the front but the engnes look like wang.
They shld remove the two mini-back engines or retone the main back engine to be inline with the main body like the wyvern and leviathan.
Give it a diet its ass is too big!

Its time that the Thanatos gets some attention it looks awfull. The Thanatos reminds me of a large turd left on the ground after someone has slipped through it.
