Go into the help channel for a while, if you can answer most questions that arise from the true newbies then you are going in the right direction at least. If you stay in there for a whole playing session and find very little questions hard to answer then I'd say you are no longer a newbie. But dont confuse this non-newbie status with veteran-status, two different things. If you have been playing eve for over a month and have not been in the help channel even once then you did things the very hard way.
I guess you could split the eve universe into 3 types of players: 1. newbie (still learning new stuff all the time) 2. experienced (has learnt alot and able to do most things without hesitation or asking for advice) 3. Veteran (nothing else to learn really, apart from what changes each patch brings, like adjusting to nerfs etc.)
I dont claim not to be a newbie and I certainly do not claim to be a veteran.

Thats because names like 'noob' and 'carebear' are considered to be insults, people will always call others these names even though they might not be (and usually aren't) what they are being called. Funny thing is that everyone was once a noob in eve, the people calling you a noob were probably bigger noobs than you when they started out but it just makes them feel good to insult others, thats just the way of the world unfortunatly.

Edited by: Joe Redpawn on 25/05/2004 18:30:59 Actually, here's an easy way to tell how you are.
NOOB: Someone who hasn't done the trainer yet.
Novice: Someone who is still learning the game and can be called a n00b until they finished it all.
Advanced: When they have learned most of it, but still ask questions and still need guidance in most of things.
Master: Everyone seeks guidance from them because they know about everything.
But you can just say that's my opinion. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Joe Redpawn Order of Chivalry Corp, EVE | EVE Online Rocks
